Still brown today but trying to clear up. 54 degrees. Thick with shad in the way back of PC and Avoca. I think the stripers are only feasting on them after dark though. Contrary to what some say, they don't mind the muddy water.
Green bass are biting pretty shallow on spinnerbaits and crawdad cranks.
Go get 'em! There's plenty.
I know quite a few folks who avoid the trees when striper fishing specifically because it can be nearly impossible to get a sizable fish out of them. Stripers will often run right into them when hooked and then it's game over. You can horse a bass out of the trees, but a solid striper is going to pull some drag and you're at her mercy.
This one is just downstream from the War Eagle Mill. Gate is at the top of the hill west of the bridge. Put a few bucks in, keep it clean, keep it quiet, be respectful so I can take my kids there next year too.
Park under the bridge at the boat ramp. There is a trail that goes off along the edge of the field, through the woods, and comes out on the shoals right where Richland Creek joins the White. If you don't see the trail, ask dude selling crawdads.
Not bad at all. I heard a few folks say that had done a great float from TB to Neil's Bluff on Saturday and slayed them... Black bass, white bass, crappie, walleye, and one striper mixed in.
Surely somebody is wondering what the water looks like at Twin Bridges and War Eagle. Here you go. Saw a walleye and some white bass caught at TB. No action at Two-dollar hole but the water looked great. Yes, there is still access there. The pay box is now right at the gate to the pasture.
Record rainfall event in the winter of a record rainfall year. I'd say the Corps did pretty good and Beaver Dam did pretty much exactly what it was built to do.
Maybe I will make this my first tournament. My boat is worth about 50 bucks. Do the rules for this one say you need a kill switch if the motor will hardly stay running? Mine usually does a great job of dying on its own every few seconds!
