Thanks for your response.... I have been on numerous lake with HP restrictions and always keep my "big" motor trimmed up and out of the water while on them. I have never had a problem with people. I also do go on a lake with 25HP restriction with my 35hp jet motor, the lake is only used to get to the river that has no HP limit (go figure) but I always figure if I get a ticket it is my own fault...
Personally, I don't see an issue with anyone bringing a boat that has a big motor as long as they don't "run" their big motor.... I guess I get the safety aspect of HP restrictions, Just don't get why it would be a problem if I had my 19' aluminum boat in the water with the motor trimmed up... what if the motor was inoperable, would I be legal then? I hate laws that are in place that don't make sense, I get it if the "big" motor is "running" but if they drop the boat in the water and never fire the big motor, what does it matter??? Heck, I lived in WA state and they had HP restricted lakes, which only meant you couldn't "run" your big motor... Kinda funny that a liberal butt state like that is easier to deal with than Springfield Mo!!! LOL
Anyway, I have an extra boat that meets the HP requirements so I will use that boat if fishing your lake!
