  1. been fishing Stockton for walleye. my question is fishing a three way rig on 10 # braid with a plug what weight would you suggest to get to 20 ft at 2 mph. thanks for your help.
  2. amen
  3. put in cedar ridge 8:00 am out 3;00 pm. fished bridge to high point. lot of smaller blacks,2 whites one 17 3/4 inches, two eyes one 16 inches and a bunch of drum. what ever you do don't throw a 1/4 oz chrome and blue rattletrap unless you want to load the boat with drum. used rock crawlers, ned rigs, sliders and a little top water. water temp 68 to 70 and pretty dirty below bridge. weather was great.
  4. sounds like what we did week ago. bunch on dinks on crankbaits and jigs.
  5. hit the water after the storm. really nice temp felt good water temp 80 water a little stained. saw two boats one bass boat one sailboat. off the water before 7. had a good day tube jigs,3/4 once jig rage craw trailor and river bug. fishing main lake and secondary wind blown points.
  6. 2nd dadakota only I would really recommend a color screen. lot easier to see and read.
  7. a lot of the guys and girls on the forum would maybe have a idea as to what the fish do when they are pulling a lot of water. do the fish reposition in the lee of the current or will they become more aggressive and get in the current. will they pull off the cover or go deeper in the cover. will it affect the thermocline? will they move shallower or go deeper? what will the shad do move down or move into the coves. just wondering what your thoughts and experience tells you. thanks

    Graphs

if all you do is fish the bank or visable cover all you need is something to tell depth and temp. if at table rock and you want to fish the depths get the best you can afford. be sure it is color and at least has gps. if you can afford it go all out with si,di and good map lakemaster is good but you can survive with navonic. also get the largest screen you can afford. if you learn to plumb the depths at table rock or any other you may not catch bigger fish but at least you should catch more and know you are fishing over fish.
  9. please note I said fishing not catching. started about 11:30 am water temp 76 pretty clear and did not see any floaters. water well up in the brush fished around the price branch. pitching rage craws, ned rig ,jerk baits and texas rigged worms. caught 3 keeps pitching lost 2 keeps average about 2 pounds. caught a few dinks on other baits. it feels like fish with the rising water not sure what to do I think most have backed off and suspended. when the water gets a little more stable you should be able to pattern the fish better. was shocked and sadden about sac river jim was a good man and great fisherman. RIP
  10. have you seen any shad?
  11. yeah lot of the bass are skinny and just a little over 15 with a few up to 18. what I'm wondering is where are the shad? caught two short eyes Friday about big around as a pencil. hot weather coming guess i'll start looking 15 to 20 fow early and late.

    hot

it's getting hot just trying to find out what are some of the methods you guys use when it gets hot. myself I like the big worms 10 inches or bigger.
  13. fish were in the back but in the gut not the banks.
  14. we put in at 7:00 am out around 3:00 pm. caught 25 bass 6 to 8 keepers plus two short eyes. caught on a mixture of baits mostly ned rig, beavers and fish doctors. big surprise caught more and better fish back of coves in the middle of the coves.
  15. I don't think Stockton has the number of quality fish as table rock but there are plenty there. remember to catch big fish you have to target big fish. no doubt you can luck into a large fish but to catch them on a regular basis you have to go where they live and fish for those few big bites. I find it more fun to try to catch a bunch darn the size and if I get lucky with a big one great.
  16. the fish was legal size and legally caught it's up to you what you do with it.
  17. I fish Stockton a lot because I enjoy the lake. I don't fish the river arms near as much as I fish the dam area. I see very few people who are not nice on the lake. I can't remember the time someone cut in front or pulled in on top of me. I have seen it but it seems to be more prevalent the few times I crappie fish in the year. I love to fish table rock but guys let's be honest by the middle of may to first of October it's pretty common to get cut off run over and nearly killed by speedboats. if you see a green ranger r61 with oa stickers stop and say hello.
  18. put in at 7:00 am with a friend. had the lake to ourselves. 43 degrees water temp 64. thought might be a tough day. took out at 4:00 with 70 plus in the boat 8 broken lines and around 30 keeps. nothing over 18" most in 15.5 to 17 range. some on shakey head most on ned rig. watermelon red, gpand orange and pb&j. fished on points only main lake and secondary.
  19. possum been catching them in that area with the wind on jerk baits and ned rig.
  20. put in at state park 7:00 out at 3:30. water temp 63 to 66 pretty clear with a little stain in a few areas. wind was humping and the waves were rolling. found fish on the points with wind and rocks. this seemed to hold all day find rocks and wind and you found fish. could get no love in the coves. caught at least 40 with 10 to 15 keeps. no large fish biggest 18 inches. used a pearl with orange belly rcstix jerk bait. the fish were just killing it. also on the west side out of wind on deep bluffs used a ned rig with gp and orange belly 12 to 15 foot deep the fish were taking. threw other baits blade, tubes, flukes and others with no bites. fish seem to be post spawn saw no spawners in coves.
  21. the ned rig has been around for years. the guy who made it popular just refined it with the mushroom head and the elezatek baits. that being said it will catch both big and small fish it catches more small fish because in many instances you fish it where they live. I find using it at Stockton I get hung up a lot so I use a split shot rig with the same bait and reduce hangups by 90%. I find if you use it is better to fish it very slow and have caught fish in 20 fow many times.
  22. put in at state park at 7:00am fished to 3:00. fished price branch area. went to see if could catch a few crappie to eat. no luck. 9:00 switched to bass caught little north of 30 with ten keepers biggest two were 19 inches. best baits were smoke grub and rc stik in pearl. saw no fish on beds but lots of smaller fish cruising the shallows. water temp low 55.7 high in the pm 59.8. best bite seemed to be from 10:00 to 3:00 water visibility 8 to 12 with lots of slime up close on windblown banks. any bait on bottm in those areas got slimed.
  23. same as hazbin it will run the water out of a battery that's not maintance free.
  24. you got to love bacon and bacon.
  25. fished from 9:30 to 3:30. water temp to start 50.7 and clear with 10 foot visibility. caught 4 with 3 keeps right off the bat. puke tube 8 to 10 fow. went till 1:30 without a bite. found some offcolor water and wind. ended with about 20 total 10 keeps all on brown phantom rockcrawler on windy points chunk rock and peagravel. water temp in 52 range.
