Watch the dock at campbell's point. The water is very shallow. A friend nicked a prop and skeg while pulling out to fish.

I agree with Mr. Babler. Have a 898 HB SI and a 597 hd on the front. 2d sonar and real time is the best way tofish under the boat .Like bill says you can see it all along with the strike. Like the HB's as they are simple to learn and use.

Lanched 1/7 campbell point with a friend who is a fishing fool. We caught 30 to 35 spots with most being smaller fish. See bass boat central for pictures he posted. Caught them in back of small coves 7 to 10 fow on jerkbaits and outside of boat houses in 25 fow on spoons. Most were caught between 10:00 and 2:00. water was 45 and warmed to 48. 1/11 went to aunts creek and threw everything with no bites until hit cedar hollow went to a tube and 1/4 weight fishing 20 feet deepoff point and 300 feet down bank caught 4 keeps 2 sm and 2 spots. Went to little aunts picked up another keeper sm. Long distance released 3. Haven't landed a lm they must be even deeper. anyone have and ideas or suggestions where they are?

You would think it would have a large effect, however, when I go to the lake it doesn't seem it havedone much. In the summer the big boats are every where and bass boats with 200 up to 300 hp seems to be the norm. When I lived on the gulf coast running a twin 200 cat at 1.9 miles per gallon if we went 40 miles out and fished 8 or 9 hours you figure out the cost of going. That didn't include the 200K for the boat. Whether it's a pound of bass, crappie or snapper and grouper it would be a lot cheaper to buy at the market. The big difference is there we would catch 200 to 400 pounds per trip rather than 20. But no matter I still try to go at least once a week and maybe twice. 17 foot boat and 90 hp merc cost 50 to 60 bucks a trip. Maybe sell the boat and get a kayak and float some local rivers and ponds. Not a bad idea and will avoid the crowds.

crappie over a school of shad ?

Been on stockton 2 days in past two weeks. Putting in at cedar ridge campground. Found fish on bluff end and steep cove banks. caught 10 keepers both days. Last week a lot of good smallies and this week only one smallie and the rest largemouth. Caught them on tubes, shaky heads but the best bait was sliders in 6 to 10 FOW.

Thoughts On A Nitro Z-6 For Entry Level Bass Boat.
inshore replied to Patrick M's topic in Table Rock Lake
I own a smaller ranger with a 90 merc. I'm retired and fish both TR and stockton. I only fish during the week and feel safe in winds up to 15 to 25 but prefer 10 to 20 or less. Fish for bass and crappie by myself or one passanger. Doesn't cost a lot to run or tow and can handle by myself loading and unloading. That being said I can select the days I want to fish because I am retired. So if I was going to tournement fish or had to go because it was the only day I could go the bigger the better. I don't think I would consider anything less than 18 and would try to find a good 19 or 20. -
noticed last time out when running trolling motor the outboard in nuetral could hear a clicking noise as prop turned. checked when i got in to dock with motor in nuetral and turned prop about every 1/4 turn a click. wondering if it could be 1 shift linkage 2 bad gear 3 needs grease. antone had this problem and what was it. thanks for the help.

fished wed. using a pattern that for 3 weeks had been killing fish.not so on wed. beleive fish are moving to summer patern. been fishing off bluffs past state park towards the dam. fish were in 12 feet when water was at 869 then they starting moving deeper out to 25 to 30. this week it appears at least on fish finder they were 35 to 50 on balls of shad down 15 to 25 feet deep. tossed everything in the box couldn't get a bite. changed plans went to maze creek and pitched split shot rigs at cedar trees. managed to get 4 keepers 16 to 17. before had been using shaky heads and french fries. i think i may be spooning or big worms or jigs in the future.

anyone know how muddy it is at cc or aldridge?
-
Been fishing high point to aldridge 3 or 4 times in last couple of weeks. putting in at cedar ridge. limited out every trip. setting my lenght limit at 12 inches makes it harder but doing it. have to wade thru a lot of shorts and barely keepers. females have eggs but none have been bloody. fishing 3/16 darter head with slider cut back three rings fishing from bank out to 12 feet. any stick-up throwing a thill float and 2 1/2 inch tube with a heavy sinker to get it to drop straight down beside cover. they don't want to move very far off the cover. fishing small coves and nooks and the banks leading to them. any jig color seems to work well in the off colored water as long as it's chartruse. be up monday fishing out of a green blue ranger r61 wave if your a member.

I've been using power pro for a lot of years. Moved back to Mo. 1 year ago previous to that spent last 10 years in panama city beach,fl. . Ran a boat offshore fishing for the past 5 years. Used braid quite a lot 10lb to 80 lb.. Couple of things you should do. Number 1 lighten your drag at least by 1/3 or more. number 2 the stuff you use to take curl out of mono works great on braid and will make it alot easier to throw. Number 3 you can,t beat a uni-knot on the braid. Having said all that have been catching a lot of good bass on the A-rig using 30 lb power pro moss green but i do prefer the hi-vis yellow. It doesn,t appear to bother the fish but I do tip my 10 lb with fluro.

tried a couple of warthogs last week and they seemed to run funny. didn't get a hit and it seems at speed they kinda wanted to run crooked and flip over. anyone else tried them and did they track well. i replaced the split ring and used a clip. wondering if that was the problem. liked their looks and paint jobs . any suggestions out there.

water temp between 43 & 45. water was fairly stained. from last couple of trips i've been on sliders on 1/4 or 3/16 black and chart.. crankbaits i've been using are bandit 200s and bombers in same size as bandits. pick your colors but they need to have chart. or orange in the mix. run the steep banks casting straight down the banks. would guess jigs on bluff ends and river swings would also work.

This is what I was trying to do just get some coversation and thought processes going. Personally I feel there is room for all of us on the lakes if we all use common sense. A guy fishing for fun or in a tournament should respect each others rights. I do agree that the tournaments should take better care of the fish and if they don't they should be fined and barred from the lakes. This is also MDC's area of responsibility and they should enforce the law if there are any on care and handling of tournament fish. While on this subject I have observed a lot of non-tournament anglers not properly handling fish they were releasing. The knife cuts both way. The one group of fishermen we have failed to hear from are the TR guides. I have a great respect for anyone who can make a living on the water and would love a little input.

went to cc to bass fish. 2 fishing caught 21 with 3 or 4 keeps. crankbaits and jerk baits. both caught equal numbers. steep banks fish close in.

As an old fart who in years past was a trout guide on tailwaters in Tenn.. Also was a charter captain on a private boat out of Panama City Beach,Fl. for ten years. Had some thoughts on TR or any lake in Mo.. 1. All fish over 21 inches are to be released. Only 4 keepers between 15 and 21 would be allowed to be kept. This would include tournaments. 2. From 4/1 to 6/1 fishing would be catch and release only. This would be hard on tournaments but not impossible. 3. All tournaments would have to be certified that release fish were held properly and released unharmed. This may sound like I'm anti tournament but I'm not. I am against the money in fishing as in politics. It appears since I moved back to Mo. no one just fishes for the pure pleasure of fishing. Please try to make your replies civil.

on monday when i caught the bass and walleyes you would not beleive what i was using. was going to crappie fish but couldn't locate any good schools on 245 bridge. decided to flip steep banks for them. had two rods rigged with sliders black and chart and white and chart shortened by cutting off two rings on 3/16 and 1/4 oz darter heads short shank hooks. started flipping steep banks and no crappie but the bass were eating them up. caught all fish on the bluffs and steep banks. tried shallower banks couldn't buy a fish. flip to edge of bank let it drop and slowly and i mean slowly (think crappie) reel it back. caught the eyes same lures but on shallow side of points in 8 to 12 feet reeling slowly on bottom.

fished cedar ridge monday. water temp 49 to 51. caught 40 to 50 bass 6 or 7 keepers 3 more jumped off. rest 12 to 14 inches. also caught 4 walleyes with only 2 being keeper size. both about 16 inches. did not see another boat or person. scanned the bridge at 245 and only saw 2 small schools of crappie. didn't bother fishing for them. water was stained but not muddy visibility about 2 feet.

I have fished several of these locations and have all of them in my HB. I have found it easier to fish if you mark with buoy and fish the edges. Have had a lot of luck catching big fish but will say have lost some gear. Be sure you are weedless or with plug run over top as those cedars are tough. Most of my success has been on piles on or around points in deeper water. Have had less luck on piles placed on banks.
