  1. I got to the dam about 8pm. headed to outlet 1, with the spinning gear and throwing rapalas. went throw a couple different colors. Ended up catching the first fish in about 15 minutes of being there.. it was the little jointed silver/black that hit the first one. about 8 casts and 7 fish... 3 cast later, 5 cast 5 fish.. ave size was 13-16inches got bored throwing a rapala. so I switched over to a black PMS 1/8oz jig, and put on a unweighted PMS olive fly (as a trailer).. end up catch bigger fish (ave 17-19inchers), not near as many. Probably ended up catching 8 on the PMS (there were taken both colors).. I made it a very short trip. and left about 10:30, Just wasnt feeling good. Night fishing is still GREAT!!! even with the high water,.. Fly fishing is still a little tough, it seem the trees are to close to the water. Leonard

  5. Here is one of the few fish caught Friday night.. with the high water.. most everyone is still using spinning rod... stickbait are produce anything and everything!!! Jig.. in white olive and black... brown was doing good to.. Leeches.. GREAT.. If you got them out of the fast water.. there were doing good.. scuds, sowbugs, eggs and SJ worm.. No matter what anyone thinks... If you have the fever to fish Taneycomo is fishing AWESOME!! Friday night I was one the water... Stickbaits and PMS jig... Saturday and saturday night... Fishing was AWESOME.. after tyhe crowd got there it slowed down.. Leeches, stickbait and PMS jig (with a trailer unweighted PMS)... OH man every cast.. I was rolling it slow the only thing that really happened saturday night was a boat came up to outlet 1 and found some still water. Right where I was throwing my baits. After a couple of tangles.. I left and went down stream to find Fly2Fish and Joel.. well the boat so we all head back up.. and about 30 minutes the fishing picked up again.
  6. Nice fish Don... Looks like you had some fun!!! Leonard
  7. Steve.. the only real places to wade is the outlet 1.. outlet 2 is almost under water..LOL At 1 you may be able to get about 4-5 in there... (4 is tight.. 5 would be a crowd).. Bring a boat are rent one.. Fishing from the boats.. if you want to have fun and do some C&R fish above fall creek ... run to the cable and drift down to about KAO.. it takes maybe 10 minutes... fishing jigs , big spoons, and large deep running crank baits.... or hook up at Phils place and he (and the staff) cab help out with whats working... but if you hit the 20inchers... well theres dinner!! Below fall creek.. (keeping for dinner) drifting big scuds/sowbugs with a big SJ worm dropper.. creek fishing.. Minnows, and power bait would be the top 2 choices.. then night cralwers close to the bottom would be good to (since rain is coming for the weekend.. Leonard Night fishing at the dam.. Crank bait, spoons or jigs.. fly fishing.. it tight to the tree line.. (I guess that gives a whole new meaning to fly fishing... catching trees.)

  10. during the few years I was there.. A nice little rain came through.. the picture of the little bridge... there is a small pond just above it.. the water was just barely going over the wall there.. and the picture of the spring was about like the picture you took... The pond by the commerace building was flowing over the gate... I think a few of those big boys got loose. There is one thing forsure about Neosho... when the flood warning come on.. Neosho will flood!!! Im glad to be back home... But miss the little Hickory... Maybe sometime this year I can make my way over and have a little fun. Leonard
  11. After a quick run into town at 10pm... Since I was already there...I thought "why not" first things first.... THE WATER IS STILL HIGH! Went to outlet 1, and the water had the bottom 5 steps covered.. (WARNING----- The water is washing out the step at outlet 1... everyone be careful!!) Now for the good part... well its been a LONG time since the spinning rod saw the light of the moon... so that was the weapon of choice. I went through a few rapalas, rebels and Yo-zuri's... and it was the 6in (suspending) smithwick that got the first fish. A few more cast and it was time to change again. What I started with was all small stickbaits.. They wanted the big ones. After going though Large pin minnow (catching 2), a couple jointed rapalas (catching 3), and a shad rap x-tream (catching 2).. I went back to a smaller (about 2 1/2in) jointed rapala (the fire tiger), and really got into them. The biggest thing I noticed was getting it out. I ended up catching close to 20 fish... about every 4 fish was a brown... Leonard
  12. we saw a few shad floating today... Heres my report.. went to the dam.. started drifting down... 2nd cast fish on and to hand.... 2 cast after that another fish on....And landed both catch on a 1/16 jig... (better sit down for this one)... I tied a PMS on a jig.. and yep.. there you have it Dano!!! evening have proof... Zander netted both of the fish...LOL... 2 cast later I hung to bottom... and lost the jig.. these were my only 2 fish of the day. Leonard
  13. SIO3.... 3 more big steps... and its all down hill from there!!! MoSkeeter..... You have to feel good about this year... A few more... and the rest is fishing Happy Birthday guys!!!
  14. Just got off the phone with Carol (river run).. Yes.. she says the gates are open!!
  15. Since saturday.. Ive been on the water .. saturday day.. fished the Branson Landing area throwing silver/blue little cleos.. strikes were fast and hard, They would hook themselfes everytime they hit. the main key was a very slow retrieve with an small jerk here and there. fish total: not many.. but enough to make a meal (4)... plus the few that were released... fished maybe 2 hours total. Sunday.. same place.. I must have caught them all on Saturday, I did walk away catching 1 in 2 hours.. Sunday night The dam. High water (707.5 / 4 units), slow fishing, but still caught a few fish. I met up with Daniel and Dustin last about 8pm, We rigged up the rods and started fishing outlet 2. We started with midges/sowbugs.. picking up a couple. Switch the sowbug to an egg, picked up a few more. we headed up top to outlet 1 to through a few streamers.. PMS, pine squirrels, Mohawks scuplins, All picked up some fish. They wouldn't stay on a "steady" strip, we had to change about every 2-3 fish just to get a few more.. Back to the pavillion for some more coffee. Back to outlet 2 with the midge/ dropper, And pick up a few more... changing the dropper ever so often... Roo bugs, SJ Worms, eggs, sowbugs... we'd catch a few fish and they would stop. But everytime we tyed on something new it was in the first few cast for the take. we call it a night around 3:am.... Monday night. hit the water about 8pm, water not as high as it has been (4th step up on outlet 2). Started with a midge/sowbug, catching 1 fish.. well a short time later I noticed the water was dropping.. So I head to outlet1.. rigged for a streamer.. You guessed it the PMS. as I got up there, The guys I had out with me the night before was there fishing.. I stood there for a few minutes watch them each pull in a few fish. I started talking to them, and I toss in the PMS.. NAILED one on the first cast.. so he put his on, and with in a few minutes we were catching fish after fish.. His buddy across from us had one on too.. Here is a story for you.. they were standing on each side (one was close to the dam, The other was cross the outlet.. were I was standing).. the one I was standing sets the hook... WOW.. this fish has some Weight.. he says.. then we notice the other one across from us had a fish on too.. yes it turn out to be the same fish. Both flies in the fishes mouth.. how I dont know.. but this fish took 2 PMS's (size6) at the same time.. I ended up leaving about mid-night catching some really nice bows. I going to guess they shut it down to about 2 maybe 3 units last night.. it started to drop out fast Leonard

  20. I noticed the water out by my house today... It looks alittle cloudy (or should I say muddy)..LOL That still cant be run-off is it.. I see all the way from my cove out past the 86 bridge and past the island. Is it possibly that Table Rock has turned?? But his happened back in Jan.. right? Leonard
  21. I got there about 9pm.. To find Fly2Fish had beat there..LOL Me and him has spent the past few days (opps... Nights) fishing together and it has been very slow fish. Mostly I think because of the very high water.. but fishing is fishing!!! Back to the report: we start off in outlet 2 with the midge/sowbug/eggs (then I switched over to a roo). I caught 1 on the roo bug. As the water started dropping I decided to head up top to outlet 1. Started of fishing the PMS. Pick up 1. started to head down stream. They must have shut down another generator. The surface activity started really picking up.. so I decided to stick around and fish the falling water.. GOOD THING!!! still fishing the PMS .. I started really catch some very NICE and BIG bows... here is a few pic from last night.. Leonard
  22. The chart looks as if they are starting to shut it down... Phil... what does the water look like today??
  23. well as we all know the water is alittle up..LOL friday night I hit the water about 9pm. I went too outlet 2 and started with a 3 fly rig... midge (for weight) a sowbug and a roo. I did pick up 1 fish one the roo bug (dark).. Took off the roo and put on a 2in SJworm (red) tied on a size 10, Picked up 2 fish. so far its a hard night..LOL.. took off the worm and put on a jig egg... started getting some hits.. ended up catching 4 more with the egg. Sunday (day).. you wouldnt believe it... THE WATER WAS IS STILL UP...LOL I went to outlet 1.. ended up going to the lower side of 1 (down the high side of the bank).. the Black strip leech... was the fly of choice... caught probably 10-12 fish (all of them were fat!!) I fish with a 4 foot leader to keep it out of the trees. I switched on and off a few flies.. but that was the only thing they really seemed interested in.. Fish from about 10:15am till just after 12:30pm Sunday nights report.. Hit the "HIGH" water about 8:30 pm. As soon as I got there before I even made my first cast... there was that dang beaver trying to swim up outlet 2... well I tossed around a rapala for a few minutes...NOTHING.. Got the the fly rod out and rigged up the Midge and sowbug... a few good strikes a few short hook ups but nothing to hand. decide to go check out outlet 1.. Nothing happening there.. well back to the van and Fly2Fish shows up and we grab the spinning rods again and head back to 1.. I tossed about 5 different rapala and still nothing. back to outlet 2.. we got the fly rods out.. midge/sowbug and eggs.. It was tough night... I did end up catching 5 on the egg.... I ended the night about 1:30am Leonard
