Ive even walk the wood before they put in top of the rock when I was young.. there is a little creek with some smallies down there that runs into TR... but after top of the rock when in they closed it off to the public.. The only place I have yet to fish is the White... but I see in the near future.. I will be.. cant wait till the Sowbug!! If you know what I mean...

As the effect of that much water... yes it would take out the hatchery amoung other thing thoughout the downtown Branson area..... I dont remember what board it was on... but I'll keep looking and post the link when I find it

  7. Im not sure what the bottoms are made of... There are a pair of neoprenes from bass pro.. boot waders.. It looks to be some kind of rubber.. not sure though...
  8. Im in for a get together at Roaring River... Tippet.. I live out around Ridgedale.. we can ride out together... (but dont know how long mamma would let me stay)
  9. Tippet... when the shad kill happens... I like to use a white jig (1/64 or 1/120)... they cast alright on a fly rod... and I think lilley still has some in the shop. 10. Albright.. Just wondering did you ever make it down on the weeked of the 2nd... If so, how did you do???
  11. Im with Phil on this one... If you go out night fishing MAKE sure you know the bottom... I night fish alot... and even I have found thing (big rocks) in the dark that Ive never notice during the day... And yes it very IMPORTANT to know the bottom... and how deep some areas can get... and know the woods... you dont want to be in a place where you cant get out in a hurry... Ive myself have seen them turn on all 4 generators within 15 minutes... and by the time you get close to the bank it gets really swift.... At night they will turn on 2 generators, one right after the other (blow a horn.. and within 5 seconds blow another)... when they do that it really can starts coming up quick.. last thing to really beware of is the rocks on the bottom... some are as slick as snot!!! Ive seen alot of guys fall in at night (about 5x as many as during the day)... even on the bank.. where there is no water.. those rocks are very slippery.. and when it gets this cold some of those will have ice on them... the rock that I hate walking on at night is... the deep holes up by the cable above chute 1 (I hate fishing this area at night because of the rocks.. but it holds some big fish) the big run between chutes 1 and 2 the bank between chutes 2 and 3 I never have waded into the rocking chair at night... but I did fish it one day... I myself would want to wade it at night... it was very slick in the day...I fell twice that day I fished it!!! the boat ramp on the hatchery side... there are some very big and very slick rock in this area...(I have fell in this area quit a few times) I cant say anything about the area around KOA.. I dont get down that far at night.. I like to stay close the the cars... just incase I do slip.. I dont have to walk far in the cold
  12. Hoover... Try to put some chap stik on the eyes of your rod... It keeps it from freezing up as much...
  13. Phil.. When is the next one???
  14. Jeremy I do have a dry midge.. para-post that works very well... and just you said... twiching the rod tip.. they explode on it.. we should get together some time soon... and do a little fishing... Ive heard alot about (mostly good thing..LOL)... would like to meet you
  15. I was reading the Article about Dry flies on Norfork... I've seen I believe what are Trico's 18's and 20's... and I been using a little size 22 black poly wing... and they have been hitting it really good.. Other then small Adams and wulffs... what would be some more dry flies to fish this time of year??
  16. I was woundering If there is a place for posting on Creek fishing... This area has alot of back creeks... like Swan, Beaver, Turkey, Roark and ect. I know there are times I like to get down to turkey and do a little sucker grabbing.. and if you hit Roark in Late fall its great for some medium size crappie... What would be the lenght limit on crappie in Roark (being off Taneycomo)?? If im not mistaken there is none.. But it would be nice to know again..
  17. I liked fishing Spring Creek (in Neosho) in late summer and early fall for smallies... I would jig them up on Brad's Jigs and Pine squirrel sculpins..
  18. well if its family... I understand... But if its in-laws...ARE YOU CRAZY??? thats my holiday excuse for getting away... is to go fishing
  19. I thought Taneycomo had already adapted Minimun flow... Ive see it a few times... but not often... I guess the times that I did see was just a trail run?
  20. When I whip finish my flies.. I try to put 2 whip knots on them... you never know.. This works for me.. it may sound to be a little to much for some.. but I like the way it holds.. and if one does come undone.. there is a second one there that holds it... my whip finish is.. 5 wrap/then knot.. 3 wraps and knot again... if I may add.. the knot dont seem to be that big were it is noticeable...
  21. Just to make a point... I also thought that if your limit (4) you had to quit fishing.. Sorry RRV... but this this goes out to your area.. Ive often wondered why there are so many stringer in the water at Roaring River.. this would explain alot.. but then how many of those people have 2 or 3 stringers in the water with a limit on them?? about 10 years ago.. I was fishing RR and got ticketed for fishing after my limit... fought in court paid a reduce fine ($15) and court cost... here's the story.... I had taking my 5th fish (at that time it was 5)..and laid my rod down.. in the process of laying the rod I hit the bail on a rock and didnt notice.. after putting the fish in a basket I turned around and picked up the rod.. line and spinner was in the water as I reeled in a fish hit... and sure as snow in the winter.. an agent (park ranger) was walking behind me... and saw me release the fish and pick up my basket... and processed to tell me I had just broken the law... he called it fishing over the limit... But it my be differnt at Roaring River since its a trout park..
  22. Albright... Send me e-mail... lkeeney@earthlink.net.. first letter is a L... I give you a few place to try... and what flies to use/try About this weekend.. Looks like I may have to cancel... my boy is getting sick
  23. Albright... Ive been doing good on woollies... white olive and black (size 8 or 10.. just a bead head.. no wieght) sculpins do ok...if your in the big hole.. fishing the bottom... Ive yet to try muddles.. if you want to bring a few of those.. Oh... btw... dont forget the rain gear... just in case!!
  24. Ok... sounds good to me... But remember to bring some warm clothes... I went the other night.... the weather man said.. 38-40 degrees...5-10mph wind... there was ice on the eyes of my rod... and I froze the jewels off.... I only stayed for about hour and half.... but did catch 15... no really size to them
  25. Did they ever say what river or state they where in???
