  1. This guy mistook a PMS for food.... he got a little cranky!!
  2. try top water.... hoppers and beetles...
  3. Hey Jerod.. I think it getting close enough to a pattern now... off most of the morning... runs till about 10pm and off again... just remember to shout at me this time so we can hook up.. By the way... bring a stringer.. I hear there are still crappies and walleye in there.. Leonard
  4. Dont forget about the squid....
  5. I do this myself... with the backing... when using mono, Ive noticed that once it creases it becomes weak in that area.. when a big fish is hooked on the trailer hook and starts to twist.. that mono sometimes break. Ive used both ... I just prefer the backing method. One another post talking about Kelly's flies.. I believe he uses what is called "American wire". Michaels do carry it but only some stores, I have asked the one here in Branson and they dont (at least didnt a year ago)
  6. Think about running over tomorrow afternoon/evening.... Probably be chasing a few walleyes.. anybody else feel like joining me?? PM me
  7. Heres a little helpful information.. most of the walleyes are going to be upstream closer to the dam.... the old KAO about the farthest down I have heard one being caught (this year) .... some may have caught them from a boat down stream ..but I talk to a lot of the wading guys.. Although you are fishing for walleyes you HAVE to follow the fishing regulations for taneycomo.. No live bait/scented bait, and no soft plastics (like swimming minnows)in the C&R zone but we have caught them on jigs, rapalas, rouges, cloes, rooster tails. I was on a guide trip Friday night and we caught one on the fly rod using a PMS we have caught a few during the day but that was by chance.... we really start to stack up the numbers in the evening/overnight and early morning before 8am... the walleyes arent as thick as they were in 08.... but the year isnt over yet.. Ive got 14 so far this year (biggest this year is 27inches) .... in 08 I total 30 (11 of them were over 25inches)
  8. Tim at Roaring river has informed me ... It is legal to take out 4 browns 15inches or greater as a daily limit in a Mo trout park.. as much as it pains me to say... Thats a heck of a fishing trip.....
  9. reply back... Rainbow lettering..... browns love rainbows...
  10. Someone should get a hold of Tim at Roaring River and let him chime in on this... He is probably up-to-date on these fact about this one....If not I bet he would try to look in to if for more fact....
  11. LOL... for a minute I thought you were talking about catching fish.... HEHEHEHEHE *** Someone had to say it!****
  12. I would be looking into the MDC regulations.... 3 browns taken in one day... might have a issue there Or does it state other was in the state parks?
  13. I use a 7wt TFO.... Year around on Taneycomo... I do throw big streamers and articulated all the time... Ive also tossed around a few hoppers on it... Im not much into the midge/scud fishing (unless its at night in high water) so most of the time Im throwing a piece of meat.... I really enjoy tossing sculpins during the day.. I would have to say any 6wt of 7wt would be good for taneycomo.... 8wt I do have one but it wears out your arm to quickly.... Leonard

    Finally!

NOOOO.... Not in Branson.... I know of a few people that are trying to live on 2 full time paychecks... 1 part-time job... and are still barely making it..... They work the butts off day in and day out... yet can barely pay rent/car payment/others bills... fighting every week just to try to make a buck... then comes food for the kids/ gas for the cars and they are living on $40-60 a week in food.... yet they still make to much monthly to qualify for assistance. I think the last I heard you HAD to make below under $1200 a month with a family of 4... this is one of the reason why ... once they get on assistance they try to stay there

    Finally!

I have seen some of this with my own eyes..... Someone is a full time employee... They ask their boss to cut their hour over the next few week to help them get a high amount of food stamps (most bosses will).... to get a little weed later.. have more cash in pocket.. cause they are now spending less on food I knew someone (personally)... that was working part-time for a paycheck... worked part-time for her family for cash... was on assists... and had 2 kids... then she started doing drugs... Yes it is very true *** POT IS A GATEWAY DRUG*** In 8 months time she went from supporting her family.... to working the system to find more drugs... to even trading sex for a quick high..... I tried my best to help her as much as I possible could... then found out that the clothes I brought for her kids was taken back to the store and the money she received was spent on drugs... she was buying steak and lobster at the store with food stamps and reselling them for 1/2 the cash to buy drugs.... her kids was living on milk and mac and cheese.... and she was living the "HIGH LIFE".... I know for a fact she brought cocaine, pot, heroin, and was even cooking her own meth....

    Finally!

Finally it is going to start happening.... Missouri will start testing for all illegal drugs for the people who apply for Goverment assistance... this includes all welfare.. Food stamps.. WIC... Medicad.... TANF.... ect!! AWESOME!!! Im sure more state will follow...
  17. Right now... they are using 50MW as 2 units... I was out the other night and that is what they had going ... Be very careful of wading right now... the bottom has changed A LOT since the Easter flood. a lot of the bottom has not settled in yet... it does roll out from under your feet.. If they are running I would say stay close to the bank... around about waist deep. The water is still really murky... at knee deep you cant not see your feet so there again.. the bottom has changed and there are new holes everywhere... a lot of the shallow areas has deepened Leonard
  18. yes they has been a few guys up there targeting walleyes.. and we have been catching them.. But the one I caught last night has been my biggest this year,... Most I have seen has been in the 16-20inch range..... so that one really was a nice surprise. KC... Most of the time I using 8lb maxima.. Last night I was using 6.... Right now I would rather use 8lbs... looks like the bigger are coming up....
  19. Im finally back to work full time... so with momma working and myself, water time is a little limited... after work and a little pizza for dinner I hit the from about 7pm till 10pm... starting with the PMS jig.. hit 4 white bass back to back... moved down the bank a few feet and caught 2 small crappie (about 10inch each).... well I started the throw few rapala to see what I could find... with the water so stained its hard to find that 1 rapala. caught a few more whites on shad color.. and a couple on black and silver... and even a few on a black and gold smithwick (Hint hint.. I wasnt fishing for trout or white bass..) Back a round the first of the year a couple of guy from the forum gave me a pointer shad... so I tied it on.... WHAM... first cast.... 19in walleye!! 3 white bass..... WHAM again.... I bring in a VERY sweet... VERY big walleye 27incher.. my biggest one so far this year in 08' my biggest 2 were just over 31 inches MMMM... walleye poppers!! By now the skeeters where chewing me apart... Since Easter... this brings my walleye count up to 13....
  20. WOW.. picture 1 and 4 needs taken down... before I get in trouble..... Fishing was great today... The guy standing next to me had a blast fishing the PMS.. we probably caught close to 30-40 fish before they turned the water on
