  1. Need 2 more... we have a swap weather we get 2 more or not...
  2. Important Swap Items Winter is coming and when it gets to cold to fish we like to do a few swaps. The most important thing I consider in being in a swap is have fun, be patient and communicate, ask for help when you need it. Here are some helpful things to consider when joining or hosting a swap. These are suggestions, that will help Swapmeisters and tiers to have a fun swap and a good times doing so. It is important that Swapmeisters and Tiers communicate with each other thru PM or on the BB. Swapmeisters it is a good idea to check your post at least once a day, to see if you have any more swappers that have signed up, or in case any of your swappers have questions. 1.... Swapmeister (Swap Host)- When you post your swap, give a signup deadline, and a deadline for the flies to be in. Give instructions on what type of flies to tie. Give a total on the number of tiers for the swap. Give a total for the amount of flies needed for the swap. Give your instruction for mailing in flies. I usually post my addy after I have all tiers signed up. But if you are uncomfortable posting your addy you can also PM your addy to them. When the swap is full post on the BB it is full so other tiers won't be waisting there time trying to join the swap. 2.... Swapmeister- when you receive flies from the tiers, let them know on the BB or PM them that you have received them. 3.... Swapmeister- once you receive all flies from all tiers sort them, get them all packaged up and deliver them to the post office in a timely manner. Notify all tiers either on the BB or by PM that you have mailed out the flies to them. 4... Swapmeister when the swap is over and all have received there flies, if you can, Post pictures of your swap or have someone do it. If noone is able to add a extra set and send that set to some who would be willing to do so. ****** Then mark your post as Swap Completed.****** ************************************************ 6.... Tiers- When you join a swap please adhere to the deadlines. Post what type of fly you will be tying. (I also like to post the recipe for the fly I will be tying.) Please use PM 0r BB with the Swapmeister for communications about the swap. 7 .... Tiers- either post on the BB when you have mailed in your flies or PM the Swapmeister. 8... Tiers- When mailing your flies, please send them in a strong enough and big enough box to protect them and to hold all of the flies you will be receiving back. Mark the box with your name and address and your on line nickname. Mail them at least 10 days before the end of the swap so they will get to the Swapmiester by the deadline date or earlier. 9.... Tiers- include in with your flies a self addressed envelope that is strong enough for the fly box you send and will receive back. Include postage (please do not use metered mail strips on return envelopes) or money (I do not recommend sending cash) in the proper amount to send the flies back to you. I also add Delivery Confirmaton to mine. I also put my online name on both envelopes. Plus the swap name. 10... Tiers- if you want your flies sent back to you Priority Mail be sure to include enough postage (best is to use stamps and not postage stickers) to cover the increased cost over First Class Postage. 11... Tiers- include with your flies a toe tag (small piece of paper) with the name of the fly, your name or handle, and your email addy so the other tiers can email you for the fly tying instructions. 12... Tiers- when you receive the swap flies back in the mail notify the Swapmeister on the BB or by PM that you have received them. **********Above all else everyone have a lot of fun with the swap and be open to suggestions and comments, we can all learn from each other.******* Some website that do swap will give very few chances of being late or not turning in your flies on time.. They start making a list of "default" tiers and some people dont let them back in swap... unless they can prove otherwise of being on time. If you need to opt (drop) out of a swap. Give plenty of notice and there is other swapper/tiers that can fill that spot...

  7. well what I saw last week was worst then that... someone has caught a really nice fish... 25in bow ... Im guessing they tried to revive it (hopefully).. when I first saw it the gills were still pumping But they just ended up leave it there laying on its side by the big rock below outlet 2... It was a legal fish to take out but they decided to let it die and leave it there... This is what upsets me the most. rather you eat trout or not .. I think if its not going to make it (and its over the slot limit) take it out and give it to someone who will... I do believe that most of us would rather see them going home *** Because they wouldnt make it.. then seeing them DEAD on the bottom*** it probably could have been revived if they would have worked with it a bit longer.. or at least went back to check on it. But instead left it to die I saw at least 3 guys trying their best but it was a no go... it had already been to long for the fish to make it.. It just happens to be the day I didnt have my cooler in the car or I would have brought home... It was a good fish
  8. AWESOME!!!! I would use it! Nice sculpin bud!

(this should useally cost the same as shipping to me)... . Anyone Interested? SWAPPERS: 1. Cocry...... (Flies are in) 2. Mikes fly rods..(Flies are in) 3. Hopper......(Flies are in) 4. ColdWaterFshr.....***** OPTED OUT ***** 5. LShack...... (Flies are in) 6. Outside Bend...... (Flies are in) 7. Sean C...... (Flies are in) 8. Micheal Kyle 9. bruegy...... (Flies are in) 10. 12. Here is the little brown that HAMMERED the H20!! **** I told you he was little.... but man its a PRETTY one!**** Last night I met up with Cory and Kevin about 10pm... WHAT A NIGHT!! Kevin hit 3 in a row on the first 3 casts on a red Hibernator.... we started off just below outlet 2 and made our we to the big hole hit the Gaunlet on the down.... we tossed around all colors and everyone got a few fish.. but the red and the black Hibernator were probably the best 2 color.. Cory and I hit a few on some hopper pattern... awesome strikes at night! Here is a white bass that Kevin caught with the Red Hibernator.. they have a few more pictures to add... so I'll let them tell you all their fish stories.. Lots of fish... and some really nices ones
  13. Maybe someone should call Taney County and tell them about it... this could be a BIG issue
  14. I dont like to use wire in my woolies.... I pull about a extra 4 inches of thread off the before I tie.... I use this to reinforce the woolies... You can barely see the thread and they last.... I also like to tye in my hackle at the front.. and wind it back toward the tail. this way you get the size of the front hackle you want.. and if your hackle does break.. you only have to unwrap the head and not the whole thing
  15. We headed to the flats around 10ish... started off with some hibernators and caught a few fish.. and this one wanted a Black and purple talked to a few guys out last night and everyone report it as being really slow ... but a few report of some 20 inch (plus) rainbows caught on Hibernators also. we ended up flipping some scuds w/glow indicators midges/scuds and had a blast... upper Taneycomo is fish really different since the flood... But on a good note... we are still catching a few "ODD" fish... crappie, smallies, whites bass, and also heard a walleye caught just the other night on a fly rod Leonard
  16. Looks good to me!!
  17. I don't have any 200R hooks in size 6. I just tied one up on a 6 wooly bugger hook. One difference I see besides being heavier wire than the 200R is the turned down eye. Is the straight eye of the 200R critical or is it the curve shank that makes the 200R the hook of choice? Closest place to buy hooks is BPS in Broken Arrow which is a 30 min drive. Trying to decide if I need to run out tonight to buy hooks. ******* I like the 200Rs.... 1) is the straight eye. 2) is that slight bend in the middle. 3). the point of the hook sets lower the other hooks and I think it does better as far as hook-ups ****** Do you tie yours unweighted or do you wrap with lead wire. If unweighted, do you fish with split shot or are you fishing it shallow in the water column? ***** I tye them with beads and I tye them unweighted... I dont weight them with lead.. so I dont loose any on the bottom... I do tye a few heavy that I fish fast high water. ****** I read about having a 'bead' of super glue when you tie in the PS strip. Is this a bead all along the hook shank so that the hide side of the PS strip gets glued to the entire length of the shank? ****** The super glue is if you want to.... it just makes the fly itself a little more durable.. the down side is if you get in the pine squirrel.. it makes a nasty mess.. ****** Is it worth night fishing at point Royale or is the outlets area the main place to night fish? ***** YES....YES... YES...YES!!!!! *****
  18. hey T7... The number doesnt like you...LOL.. option 2.... the storm that blow through the other night with all the lightning probably knocked out the phone line.. the power here at my house went off for a minute... Usually when that happens the that line doesnt work for a few days...
  19. Id say grab a lantern.. box of night crawlers and some chicken livers.. Head over to Beaver Creek (in Taneyville) got right under the bridge and camp out for the night... watch out for snakes.. but this is the area I use to fish in the summer years ago and caught 3 or 4 a night
  20. Dr. Roy Gillispie passed away. Services are Sunday @ 3, First Baptist church. Visitation before the service. One of Branson finest doctors... If your from Branson.. he was probably the very first person you ever saw..
  21. Yes... I use about he length of the rod as length of leader
  22. every one has a different method.... I like my 7wt.. floating line, 6lbs Maxima (on bright nights), and 8lbs the rest of the time (straight line.. no taper) I dont use any type of sinking line... I tye some flies that if the water is high.. they are heavy enough to get down
  23. 2 days in a row and Im getting sun burned!!! caught 8 rainbows today on sculpins in the 19-22in mark... about 25 altogether.. caught 4 on the PMS (plus the brown) in the 18-20inch .... about 15 altogether... Great day for sight fishing
  24. thats one of those bright high flash bulb... the shades are to protect my eyes from that flash..
