Was fishing crane a week or so ago and ran into Ray. He gave me a black net that he had found. Thought I would check with the Crane Creek forum members to see if anyone had lost one. You can pm me and I can text/email a picture.
Happy Fishing
We have been having most of our luck on white and pumpkin flukes rigged weightless. Haven't been catching a bunch but thats what they came on. Heard from a friend that they are moving up into the shallower parts up on the james arm. Hope this help. I might be going out today after work...I'll let you know if we do any good.
I practiced making some twisted leaders last night and was amazed how simple they were...Excited to try them out. Also practiced tying blood knots till I couldn't take anymore haha. Thanks for all the info.
You all may have been over this before but it doesn't hurt to ask. Looking to save some money and was thinking about makeing my own leaders. I was wondering what brand/s to use and what lb test/s. Im sure it varies depending on where you are fishing. Also what knots do you prefer.
Thanks for the education.... I'm new to wild trout fishing...You can bet I wont be doing anymore of this. I wouldn't want to do anything to harm such an amazing and unique fishery.
Got down to crane around 11 this morning and fished until 5. Decided to start at the park and fished down to the railroad bridge. First time I have fished this section. Caught 10 or 15 and lost just about as many. Caught a few on elk hair caddis but the bulk came on prince nymph, red copper john, and red san juan. Really like this section of water. It was a beautiful day to be on crane creek and the fishing was great. Attaching some pictures of some of the nicer fish.
This makes me even more excited for the trip I'll be taking down there on friday. Nice Fish. This is my first post on here.... I have been reading in the shadows for some time now haha. Crane has become my favorite place to fish.
