  1. Just a guess here, If you are surfacing a blade it will slap the water hard enough to eventually break a blade off. That big tall roster tail behind the boat looks impressive but is hard on props. You might check the height setting of the jack plate could be too high allowing trimming the motor too high. I have had a boat for 40 years and 3 have been what I considered performance bass boats ranging in hp. of 115, 150, & 225 and ran 3 & 4 blades and have never lost a blade from a prop. You have lost so many blades that it has got to be your engine setup.. Remember this is a guess on my part....One question are the props that have lost blades from new or rebuilds??
  2. I wish they would target the gar in this lake, sure would thin them out some. Had a 4 footer grab a jig last summer had a good fight and was disappointed when I seen what I was fighting...
  3. Now we know what happened to the Buffalo herds that used to roam this great land......
  4. The best thing to do is take a ride in it or one like it to find out for your self. Whom ever owns the boat whether a dealer or individual if they want to sell it you will get a test ride.
  5. Welcome to the share the wealth plan....Isn't it great.
  6. Here awhile back I heard of a way to help the obese, take these motorized carts in these stores and put them on tracks which would bypass the chips, sodas, cakes, pies, ice cream, and candy areas and direct them by the fresh vegetables and healthy food areas only.
  7. I'll bet you a $1.00 to a doughnut that the tax payer is paying for it one way or another. These companys just don't do these things out of the goodness of their heart.. Its tax deductable in one way or the other.......dig deeper and you will find out.....
  8. Yep, I even thought if I had a little bit of dynamite at least I could of seen what I was trying to get hooked, as many there were I should of snagged one with the spoon. I could watch the spoon on my HDS as I let it down to the fish. Not a one came to the spoon to check it out.
  9. Well you need to turn on screen capture on. Then press the power/light button and you will capture what ever is on your screen. Then press pages and goto waypoints, trails, tracks goto files and press enter. Scroll down and stop on files. Press enter and you should see screenshots, highlight and press enter. You should see the list screenshots. Press menu and you should see the copy command. You can copy one or the whole list to a SD card. Take the SD card to your computer either view them on the card or copy them to you computer. Then you can view them or attach them to e-mail or to this form. Once you do it will be easy from now on. Hope I did not lose you in this if I did ask questions someone will jump in there and give you a helping hand.
  10. What ever they were there were a lot of them along the point in the trees heading towards the river channel. Tried a spoon, jigs, wiggle wart, topwater and a shaky head with small worm and could not get a hit. There were singles coming to the surface once in awhile but never got a good look at them to be able to ID them.
  11. Was out yesterday doing some fishing and graphing and came across these fish suspended in the trees. What is your best guess of what these were??
  12. I agree with you it should be in the middle of the lake. The Longcreek location will put the bulk of the fishermen in the dam area and restrict people from the hourlly weigh-ins because of the distance to be traveled and loss of fishing time for fishermen in the Cape Fair & Campbell point areas. It sure will be take a number and wait to fish the areas say Cow Creek area to Long Creek..
  13. I agree with you 300%... If a person wants to fish docks, go to LOZ they have plenty all lined up dock after dock.. The rock has all of the docks and then some. You're right about empty stalls in a lot of present docks on the rock. I just don't like to fish docks at all..
  14. I did my 1983 350 V Ranger and it is not real hard to do but be careful on how you cut the pieces of carpet. I had to cut the floor piece twice because of cutting first one on the wrong side of the carpet I had a mirror image. I made card board templates of the front & rear deck and the floor for cutting the carpet and depending on any raised surfaces such as pedestal sockets you might cut it slightly larger and trim the excess with a razor knife after gluing it down. Use a good glue and apply it properly to all areas (corners) wipe excess glue before it sets. Use a roller to seat the carpet into the glue. You will learn as you go so have plenty of glue and remove the old carpet completely. I also wiped the surface with acetone to be sure having it clean for the glue to adhere to the areas being carpeted. Don't know of any instructions online they maybe some... If you do decide to do it yourself I wish you good luck.
  15. If we could get the water patrol on the lake in enough numbers and enforce the laws and rules we have now would help a bunch. I was on the lake Saturday evening and night fishing and there were boats pulling kids on tubes which came within less than the 100 ft distance from our boat, they were also running after sundown with no lights on. Also jet skis running after sundown. The most of these boats pulling tubes, skiers and wake board boats ignore everything else on the lake except their own fun and pleasure. I know that some of these boat operators see us fishing and but choose to ignore us and come close even if the lake is clear of other traffic. Also there are the ones that are so wrapped up in their pleasure and they just don't see us.
  16. AMEN to that......
  17. Call *55 on your cell phone will get the Water Patrol and report them. If you can get the boat numbers all the better. They will respond, had a person running a jet ski after dark last week end in Piney Creek and up to Cape Fair. My son called and reported it and they got him, wrote him a ticket and towed his jet ski off. So lets report these violations and maybe we can get a message out there that we are tired of the un-safe and illegal boat operation and it will cost them when they are caught. Sorry to say this will include some of us fishermen because there are a few who also violate the rules and boating laws. One rule I find is the one "When boats are meeting each other both are to steer to the right" I have very often steered to the right and the boat I am meeting steer to the left. Now days you have to operate your boat in a very defensive manner, including shutting down if necessary to get a clear path. My greatest fear is boats running with no lights on after sundown. You can not hear another boat while running so lights are the only way to know there is another boat running is by the correct running lights on. The rear runing light is suppose to be above the highest object in your boat while running. I believe that if the state law requiring the wearing of a seat belts while driving a vehicle, it should also require the wearing of a approved life jackets while the boat is underway and the use of a kill switch by the operator. This can save lives!!!!!! How about requiring everyone to obtain a boat operating license as we do for driving?? Please Enjoy the lakes but do it safely and within the laws & safe operating boating rules.
  18. I hope something is done about those boats and restrict the large boats which does not plane but push a wall of water. I was way in the back of Little Indian at Baxter when this wake boat went by us with someone riding a surf board. We were almost pushed up on the bank from their wake. I was hoping that they would catch a tree top through the bottom of that boat. That is the real problem they go up the creeks which is not wide enough for these big boats. The big boats was why we were fishing the in the creeks in the first place. We need to start getting the boat numbers and reporting them. There are laws and rules against what a lot of these boats are doing. Last night we were in Piney Creek and it was dark and here came a jet ski wide open ran up into the back end turned around and come out, the rider had a flashlight on them. We pulled out a 1/2 hour later and meet the same jet ski on our way back to Cape Fair above Buzzard still running. We called the water patrol and reported it but was told the closet one was at Shell Knob. They was going to have him go to Cape Fair any way. So there is part of the problem no patrol on the water close enough to catch things like that. The presents of the water patrol on the lakes has become less after they have been combined with the highway patrol. Got to have there presents on the water and start cracking down on the violators of the rules and laws.
  19. Amen to that...
  20. When using a leader with braid it is a must to wet the knot heavy and pull the knot as tight as you can while holding the tag and main line ends of the leader while pulling the knot tight. I use the albright knot which I have good luck with. At first I did have a problem of the leader coming off of the braid but it was due to not tying it tight and not puling the knot tight.
  21. These boats are from LOZ because it has got bad there with the big boats so they are moving to Tablerock. This lake used be a wonderful lake to fish anytime during the year/day and/or night but not anymore. I quit going to LOZ because of the big boats and inconsiderate boat operation that has also moved to Tablerock. What ever happened to the rule/law that you are not to operate full throttle less than 100 ft of another boat?? Also aren't you supposable responsible for your wake that is produce from your boat?? I wish for the good old days.....
  22. I have a knot question, when using a braided line and wanting to tie a leader to it using a mono or fluorocarbon line what knot is the best to use?? I am using the albright now but at times it will want to just pull apart when testing it and other times it holds good. I have tried other methods/knots, double Uni knot, blood knot, double grinner knot but always come back to the albright which seems to be the easiest and quickest in joining 2 different dia lines together but at times it does not hold.
  23. Remove the depth finder from the trolling motor batteries. These electronics do not like low voltage and/or voltage spikes. A brand new battery on the trolling motor will run the electronics until it is starting to run down during a full day of use and then you will start to have problems with the electronics as the voltage gets down when you use the trolling motor. The trolling motor will begin to give low voltage spikes as you use it starting and stopping moving the boat. Solve the voltage problem with the electronics by installing a larger engine starting battery and run at least 12 gauge positive and negative wires (also be sure to install a fuse) to the front of the boat and your problems will disappear.
  24. I agree with you........
