    Tube Colors ?

Thanks fellas and thank for the pic of the Craw. I will for sure keep you posted.
  3. I have used them several times but I can not keep the bass off of them. They are bass killers ! Too expensive for me to use just to catch bass.
  4. Going to be on the lake for the next 10 days. Any colors that are hot ?

    Finally !

I guess they call it fishing vs catching for a reason...Went out Tue. night and had 0 keeper walleyes and 1 shortie. Similair spots and baits - fish are so funny the jig and minnow seemed to only catch bass last night, Caught the short walleye on a swim bait bass fishing. We did wrangle up about 9 bass, 3 smallies and the biggest about 2.75 lbs. The best fish was caught on the Spook.

    Finally !

Interesting, I wonder what caused the pinkness/redness in the tails on a few of them? I suppose it might be from hanging out and attacking food in the shallow water. I wished I had shot a pic of the tails.
  7. Go Big Blue - Notre Dame dropped Michigan. Tradition means nothing anymore. Michigan Football is back.

    Finally !

I caught a lot of eyes trolling a Blue Flickr Shad. All the good fish were caught on a brown/orange fuzz e grub tipped with a minnow and I did catch a few on a bucktail jig with a minnow. I brought out all my old fishing gear from up north. I must have 100 bucktail jigs and a ton of Pike and Muskie lures collecting dust.

    Finally !

The eyes are definitely in 20 - 25 feet and even up to 30 feet this weekend with the high water. These walleyes were females no eggs but their tails were beat to heck from taking care of her bed. This is why I did not keep any of the bigger fish, just the one pic. I was miles away from the dam where they supposedly all went to spawn months ago. I THINK the eyes that have been in the lake a few years spawn later on the big flats and the big run to the dam is all the schooled up planted fish that are just playing follow the leader. NO way these sow walleyes have not been spawning in the past few weeks. NOW, all of the 20 inchers that were caught in the deep water had no signs that they have been bedding or anything like that, they looked like they just came out of the planter truck every fish was within 1/2 inch of each other ?? I think the 4-5 year fish that have grown up a bit have an entirely different spawn then what we perceive as the big run to the Dam. We caught 0 small bass in the area we caught most the Bigger walleyes, my guess is they did not want to be eaten by the big Eyes. I am no biologist but I average about 600 hours a year on Stockton. This is two years In a row I have found my best walleye fishing when trying to catch post spawn bass in the shallow water.

    Finally !

Good Weekend for walleyes. Would you believe me if I told you the small one for the weekend was 20". Limit Sat and Sunday. Fuzz E grub and a minnow was pretty hot. The big walleyes are shallow. You can find the little baby feeders in the deeper banks on channel breaks.
  11. Come up to Stockton and we will always get enough for a good dinner. Small snaky skinny little worms but they fry up nice
  12. Nice to see the lizard working that was my plan all weekend but could not put that jig down
  13. They were in the deeper water as well caught several 10 to 20 foot but once that jig fell off the branch and in the shallow water it was money
  14. The fishing this weekend was as good as I have seen it ! The Bass are hitting everythng you throw at them. Water was just under 70. The bass were all caught in coves with willow bushes along the shore. We were in 1 - 10 feet of water. You did have to get back in there to get the bite. The big killer was a PBJ jig with trailer. Carolina Rig with a big 10" worm or a big craw. I was having more luck with a bit of flouro dye on the tip of the worm. The walleyes were bting well on jig and a worm but we could not stop bass fishing. We were catching about 50 between 3 of us each morning and evening with some real chunky 3 - 4 lbs. Caught several nice crappie trolling and my neighbor was just destorying the crappies trolling small crankbaits. Caught 2 nice channel cats jigging for walleyes. Still can not seem to get the topwater bite going but the Jig and Caroina rig was money.
  15. Started walleye fishing caught 1 kepeer and 1 shortie then went to bass fishing. Caught about 12 K's and 3 nice smallmouth all from 5pm - sunset. Pockets and coves, 8-12 foot. The best fish were caught on a swimbait, few shorts on a redfin and a few others on jigs and a beetle spin. shad color swimbaits and greenpumpkin purple flake on the jigs and beetle spin. No topwater bite at all, I mean zippo. Table Rock the topwaer bite is just crazy, I guess it will be a few days before they start smashing thhe spook.
  16. I like to have a little bass between my walleye fillets. I use Bass as a garnish ! If we are going to start new laws first we need a Wallye season that opens on 4/15, the reason your catching all these small crappies is cause the lake has too many. I hope the walleyes are raiding all the crappie beds.

    Tough Fishin

Had the same expereince last night. Put in about 6 and was only able to catch 2 small bass, 2 REAL small crappies and the smallest walleye ever caught on a hook and line. I could barely see the fish untll it raised the dorsal fin. Thw water was pretty cloudy and had some pretty nasty film on it. It was calm as can be in the evening. Tried to get things stirred up with a topwater but no luck. Smoke jig was the only thing they seemed to be interested in. Left my crawlers in the truck so did not do any jigging worms or bottom bouncing.
  18. I was noticing I was catching the bigger walleyes in the shallow water once the sun was up. I guess they are probalby trolling the banks to raid beds ? I also had one of them Big Table Rock Walleyes on Saturday during the KVD, he must of been about 7 lbs smash a bait in about 6 foot of water.
  19. I do not fish for crappies but have been catching some nice big one's trolling for walleyes.
  20. Norman Little N in baby bass and sunfish pattern
  21. I caught this slab on Sunday trolling. It weighed 2.96 pounds. I am a Stockton guy and have NEVER seen a white this big. I fished the KVD all day and this was my best fighter. They must grow them big on the Rock !
  22. I was throwing a grub around points last weekend and caught some nice K's. Green with purple flake. Also caught a few on craw color flickr shad.
  23. Snuck out last night for a few hours. I had a great weekend of walleye fishing on Stockton so I took 2 friends down last night to Inidan Point. Put out at 5;30 pm. It could not of been any nicer on the lake. Caught 2 fish in my first 3 casts, you love that kind fo a start. Fished in 15 - 35 foot of water. The water definately has a much greener tint to it then what it has been. Smoke colored grub did most of the work. Caiught 2 nice K's on a PBJ jig. Had two smacks on the spook Jr (white/shad color) and right at the end of the night had a real nice one smash it. I had him on for a few cranks and then.....well you know the rest. Heading back out tonight to practice for KVD. Thanks for all the valuable tips this forum is really productive for me in comparison to some of the other lakes !
  24. I was having some luck wiht the Kentuckies but with small grubs and jigs. Green pumkin/purpe flake - twin tail (chompers I think?)
  25. What a wonderful weekend! Walleyes, Walleyes and more Walleyes and then when we had our limit and went bass fishing = Bigger Walleyes. Trolling into the wind Saturday was the ticket. Orange/Gold Pattern Flickr Shad and a sunfish colored Norman Litlle N. Water was 59 degrees, I would guess we caught 20 walleyes, 10 crappies and 6 whites trolling over the entire weekend. 20 - 25 foot of water. We were catching our limits in about 2.5 hours so we did a lot of bass fishing. Caught a bunch of Kentuckies on the banks just inside and around points 3 - 15 foot of water. I was using the Gulp nightcrawler and a jighead looking for walleyes and the Bass were just hammering it. I decided to use that gulp worm with a Ned Rig and hold on ! That little rig was smokin hot ! I was planning on catching walleyes with the Gulp worms, not Bass and they are expensive so I moved to a twin tail green pumpkin purple flake grub and caught some real nice 2 - 3 lb bass on Sunday. On Sunday when the sun came up we were catching some real nice walleyes up on the banks in the brush with this same jig. The Mrs lost what I wolud guess was a 6-7 lber right at the boat and we caught 3 more over 21". I could fish a spot with no bite and then throw the Ned Rig with the Gulp worm and work in the same spots and catch 2-3 ! I can not afford to fish them that way but I was overly suprised. I have actully never fished the Ned Rig with any kind of bait so maybe it is also just the rig ?? I think the fish are biting everything but that bait was definately special this weekend. Get out and get them the bite is FINALLY ON !
