  1. I am no Jig fisherman, therefore also not a very good Bass Fisherman. But I did actually commit to a jig last Saturday and it was the only lure I caught bass on. I was actually down in the mess of Sons creek. Black and Blue, once i moved to a blugill color trailer I got a better bite.

    Catfish?

I am not much of a cat fisherman but last weekend I caught two channel cate trolling flckr shads for walleye. They seemed to just hammer that bait. I had to replace the treble hook after the nicer one smashed it.
  3. I was out last Sat and the weekend before. The few and I mean few fish we caught was about 3pm when it was the warmest. Black and gold "old style" Rapala caught all the keepers, worm and a jig caught the most. Tried bottom bouncers some last weekend but just could not seem to get the set up right. I would jig and worm it and throw cranks. I was starting about 18 foot and fishing in to the banks. Cuaght them from 18 ft to 2 ft deep. Seemed like whn you could feel the warm sun the bite would start. Once the sun popped up in the am and the wind was down the bite would start, about 3 om when it was wawmer it would get a litlle better. Crappies are biting and maybe the water is watmer. 50 main lake and 54-57 on the creeks. Good Luck
  4. Spent the weekend trying to catch some fish. Overall it was a pretty poor effort. Water was 49 - 52 and down in the river it was very muddy. Looked like the Crappies were biting as CC boat ramp looked slammed? We caught 4 walleyes, 3 keepers. I was finding some when the sun was the hottest 3 pm. They were up pretty shallow on flat points throwing a gold and black rapala. Bounced a crawler harness around some points and had no luck, it was pretty windy so that spinner was really cooking ! We caught around 7 bass, only 2 over 15" on a squarebill and 1 on a chatterbait. I did land a real nice Catfish caught on a flikr Shad right by the Roark West campground. I looked at my fishing log from last year and on this same weekend last year we had averaged over 20 bass per day and I had a limit of eyes each day. When I pulled in to dock my boat there was a young fella there. I asked him if he was fishing. He said he never had and did not have a pole. I guess he was camping at Roark. I handed him a rod and helped him make a cast and WHAM he caught a little 10 inch bass ! Well he was hooked. The look on his face was priceles. So, I gave him the reel, pole, the lure and then set him up with a little tackle box. Teach a man to fish. I hope he remembers this and pays it foward. How can a young man not have a rod and a reel ?

    Table Rock Tips

So Sorry to use the words Table Rock on the Stockton forum !
  6. I have a family reunion in Branson this year and will be spending 1 week on Table Rock. We are camping down at Indian Point. I was wondering if I can do some good fishing in that general area or will I need to put some miles on the merc to get to the good fishing ? It is the last week of June. I am sure it sounds crazy but I have only fished Table Rock twice. I want to get on some Big Table Rock Bass.
  7. I love my Targa. Watch the paint on the botton of the boat, mine peeled and I got a new paint job. The I pilot really seems to drain my batteries. Not sure what the difference is. I'm not sure what a walleye is so no help there.
  8. Got out Saturdy monring and fished from 8 am til about 1 pm. Water was 39 - 41 degrees and boy it was windy! Caught 5 bass in 2 different spots in the first hour and then it just shot down? Caught 3 on jerkbait mega bass +1 and 2 on a Flickr shad. Bass were caught on steep banks just inside windy points. A few warm days this week should get some things going. Bald Eagles were everywhere on the lake. Big fish was 3.5 lbs.
  9. I am not a big fan of Academy but they do have the Carrot stick, St Croix Mojo Bass and the Falcon rods on sale for $69.99 ! That is $30 - $40 less then Bass Pro even with their rod trade in this weekend. The Falcon rod is made in the USA and it feels so nice !!!
  10. Most of them bass baits look so silly the only reason I can imagine they r biting it is because of the scents
  11. I was throwing a megabass 110 trying to find some schooled up sowes, struck out jiggling for walleyes
  12. It did sort of remind me of a big flathead
  13. Bill - Is the old state park the ramp across the road from the Current State park ?
  14. I am all for it. While we are at it how about a Walleye season that opens on March 15th. I think it is crazy no walleye season just catch all you can.
  15. Todd - the fish really stopped bitng for me on Sunday about noon. Was that you jigging right outside of Roark boat ramp Sunday in front of the bald eagle ?
  16. No luck finding any walleyes. I did have something hammer my jigging rap and take about 50 yards of line before a huge snap of the line and an enormous whirlpool ! Felt like I hooked a jet ski ! I have never seean anything like it. The hit about broke my arm and the water made this huge vortex type whirlpool motion after the line snapped ! I may have hooked a loon ! I have been known to catch birds. Any ideas on what this may have been ? I might not swim in the lake this year. About 10 am went bass fishing. I have never used the megabass 110 but it sure does the job. The first 2 spots I caught 5 keepers and 1 nice one that went 4.5 lb. I have never spent $25 on a lure but it did seem to work. The good news is I hit the shore to let the dog take care of business and found one wrapped around a limb ! Bonus ! I tried to repeat my success on the first two spots and no luck. Threw everything at em. It was like at noon the fish just stopped. Went down river and still no luck. The water temp was 40 and I did see it up to 41.5 down river back in the coves. The water on the river was real dingy. Not enough room on the lake for fishing and water skiers if we do not get any rain or snow. I found the fish on the main lake at the begining of coves where we had a nice steep drop. I am not good at fishing slow but they seemed to hit if you could keep it still long enough. Todd - I think I may have seen your black Champion jigging outside the boat ramp at Roark ?
  17. I am an equal opportunity angler. I like them white, black, green, striped, Fat, skinny but they must be 17 inches ! No shorties
  18. I am heading out this weekend to jig for walleyes. If i dont have any luck I will try the bass fishing and give you fellas an update. I really hope I have no information on the bass fishing. I am craving some fillets !
  19. Boat is in for tune up send me the gps coordinates : )
  20. U can actually have them and they don't care, but the crook sure don't like it when they realize the laws not coming to protect them but that's another story
  21. I sure do like a little purple
  22. Got out and did some fishing last Saturday. Windy ! Trusted the electronics and decided to try vertical jigging in 49 feet of water. Caught 4 crappies in about 15 minutes. I usually ignore the hummingbird when it's this deep. I do not fish the crappies much so I went back to the camper to watch a little football. I am sure you could of caught a bunch more. I sure wish I could of got out Sunday.
  23. Get as close as you can to the State Park. The Big Boys know where it is safe. You can usually tell when the park starts because you'll start seeing deer !
  24. There is two different parts to the video
  25. It is on you tube I can not see how to send the link. Search Blue heron hit my topwater.
