  1. Lifetime of advice on trolling motors overnight! Thanks =)
  2. Thanks fellas. Think I'm going to try motor guide. My minn kota did last ten years but the motor head in the water was so heavy and bulky it wanted to flop around on the front deck while on plane
  3. Any advice on which to buy when looking for over 100 lb thrust? 36v?
  4. How deep
  5. Thanks guys...
  6. I have a 2005 ranger 519vx, i am changing the carpet as a january project. As well as typical winter maintenance. A few of my fiberglass deck lids are becoming spongy... And cracked through.... I want to fix them the best way possible even if it is expensive.... I spend half my time in lampe and the other half in leslie mo. Any advise?

  8. Agreed on that. Being 28 myself and serious about bass fishing with the exception of tournaments. A lot of peers I know are living a similar lifestyle on daddys dime. There's a lot to be said for earning your own and being proud of what you've got. And not living on credit cards.
  9. Off subject, but was the water really rough around lampe over the last 24 hours, our dock ended up blowing out to the middle of the cove... Trying to figure out what happened thanks
  10. Thanks i took the bottom plate off and no problems there. I will try this! Really appreciate the response... Happy holidays
  11. Thanks for the input... Will look into it
  12. Hey guys got a question... I have a Minn Kota maxxum 101 pro. Last weekend it ran fine then all the sudden would stop then run again... (Looking online I found it could be the armature?) but not sure. Any advice? Could I change it myself, if so how much and where can I buy it. If not where should I take it? From Lampe area. Thanks
  13. thanks mike! i guess well put in at diamond city, or lead hill... i appreciate the info. if any of u see a blue ranger behind a maroon chevy with an old truck camper on it say hello thanks guys
  14. thanks teacher, i will take a good look... i also am considering dardanelle... anyone know, how does that fish?
  15. martin, well im willing to travel into arkansas oklahoma or maybe even texas just to catch a few decent bass... any suggestions for a good lake to take off to??? if nothing else, maybe lake of the ozarks to catch a few... thanks for the quick reply
  16. also not to be confused a lot of fisherman who read and do not reply to your ?s on here may not want to give u an inaccurate reply... accurate replies are far better than assumptions or opinions which may lead you in the wrong direction. i rarely see people being rude purposely on this forum

    Help

lol one time i asked my wife the same thing... she said "you wanna catch fish? tie on a gold hook and a nightcrawler..." (last time i asked her, but didnt want to admit shes right!)
  19. hey guys, i am considering buying an hds 7 or 8 with the structure scan. i already have an hds 5 and from my understanding can link the two. is it worth the money $2k or so for what you can use or learn from the graph. pros have fished and done well for years without it. what are the major advantages to improving the electronics to the next level... is it worth it? thanks john
  20. i usually fish tr as well, absolutely love it. i agree it is more difficult than loz. i got opportunity to fish with your old buddy beck. that man is a wealth of knowledge. i will be fishing loz on sat for fun. cant wait... any day on the water is a good day! keep your worm wet. john
  21. agreed! can cast it a country mile and call big fish up from 20 ft down... helps sort out the little bass too. the slower the better in my opinion.
  22. Good answer! You can also drop your jig down in front of your trolling motor and watch the graph as it sinks, if your transducer picks it up you'll have a line sinking down across your screen. [ \] or as you come back up. [ \/] On a drop shot my lowrance hds picks up swivel worm and sinker as three different objects sinking as three different lines stacked tightly together...
  23. Agreed with the black bass report for DAYTIME. I fished mill creek to Baxter sat and sun morning only fish of mine came on crawdad imitations (drop shot = bluegill)Wat tube, brown or Wat jig. I targeted brushy main lake points with the best results in 10-20 fow. TOUGHEST trip on the rock this year. Most fish i caught were smallmouth on the tube and kent/larg on jig. 3 daytime keeps out of 9 hours on the water ouch! But u gotta have those to appreciate the good days. If anyone happens to know what did work with the water temps near 87 let me know fellas, I was fishing alone and figured the nighttime bite must be much better based on friday night totals posted by Jason e...
  24. Interesting take on a rough day! I usually just laugh at myself. I fished Baxter on sun and hooked into a nice fish and as it went straight down I realized it was a decent channel cat. Stupid me, with the net on the deck I haphazardly went for the swing into the boat... Snap! Haha I know better some fish deserve a free pass I guess
  25. The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese.
