    I am planning on going this weekend to bennet just to get away from city life, I will be tent camping but was wondering where would be the best place if in the park or at an outfitter. I am not a partier so i would prefer quietness. I want to do some fishing but not wanting to do alot of driving to get to some spots. any info will be helpful.

    yes if it was me i would, i live in springfield and go to benneta few times a yr and buy the daily tags but i also but the permit yrly just incase i go on the river or up to taneycomo or any place that i could catch a trout.

    they are great fighters, other than that u just release them. you can catch them on corn and dough balls and a few other things.

    todays trip only landed a few short bass and it that was in a 3 hour period.

    you can fish below the darn on the river side or you can fish over with the docks on the other side of the road both do decent. The lake is mostly catfish but there are crappie and nice bass in there as well as alot of perch. or u might try by the boathouse in the park area. you can also rent canoes there but last i knew they would only let u in the river part. As to using bait i use shrimp, worms, livers, shad for cats, minnows and jigs and square bills for crappie, and bass i use spinners, plastics, and square bills as well. HOpe this helps.

    i am planning on fishing Springfield in the morning i was just wondering if there were any reports of what baits to use and for whats biting i will be in a boat so ill launch from under hwy65.

    all are very true statments, I have been out with Bob on 2 trips and would recommend Stockton Lake Guide Service (BOB Bennet) to anyone. Gilly i would Say you are right about hanging on to your hats if you plan on keeping them.

    Fished BL yesterday morning saw alot of activity most were sublegal. My buddy and i caught a verity of fish using jigs. THe fish werent that deep or that far offshore either. i dont mind seeing people fish but when u know that they know they are keeping sublegals that just bites me to no end.

    Its a nice place to shop but when it comes to fishing equipment i use Bass Pro or i get a magazine that i buy from. The magazine i buy from lets me build most anything you could think of and its cheaper than even Bass Pro.
