  1. What color did he hit?
  2. Escaped for a few hours today to one of my haunts on the Piney. I wouldn't say the fishing was exactly on fire, but it was pretty darn good and a great day to be out. Caught most of my fish on crawdad/creature bait and rapala suspending jerk bait. Most of the fish came out of pretty calm water, but the big one on my paddle came out of pretty swift water. The goggle eye were out to play also, I caught a pretty good mess of them, a few being of decent size even. Definately a great day to be out on the water, wish I could have stayed I have a feeling it was going to get pretty good as it warmed up even more. He is on my kayak paddle as a reference...I probably need to start carrying a measuring device! I figured it would be easier to post a pic than try to figure out which colors I was using..
  3. Congrats Duane! Nice mess of crappie, got me all jealous.
  4. Sure they are! That law really makes no sense to me anyway if they are on a spider rig. I can see if someone has made a camp on 300 yards of beach with 33 rods out, but not rods that are contained within a rig like that. But it's probably easier to make a blanket law than to break it down. I dunno I just researched it after you asked the question.
  5. They are good Mr. Rapp... 33 hooks unless on the big river then it bumps up to 50, more than 3 poles you must label them with your conservation number or name and address.
  6. AKA Spider Rigging... They are nuts about that down on Kentucky Lake.
  7. No problem Scott, I know a lot of people base their plans on some of these posts and reports. Hope your Dad finds them!
  8. Yeah that post was from 2009, someone just fired it back up by asking a question.
  9. Thanks Sore thumbs I appreciate the help, I should have posted this the other day but Ripper hooked me up on a pretty sweet 25 hp yamaha at a really good price. Now if I can get the boat to stop leaking maybe I can figure out the motor!
  10. Gotta leave room for all those hidden fees!
  11. One really great thing about Missourit is the National Forest and public hunting opportunity. No knocking on doors like up in Iowa. Mark Twain has thousands of acres at your disposal... I would just get outa there when the "Orange Army" invades.
  12. Thanks for the lesson, I was wondering what those guys were doing just jigging right by their feet. I saw one guy working a fly on his leader in a weird manner also. He would drop the fly near his foot, while holding the leader. It seemed every time he let the leader go and grabbed his rod he would have another fish on. He would then battle it like he casted for it. I had no idea that was what he was doing. That turd had 4 to my 1.
  13. Looks like this weather is going to break next week Wrench, might have to get up your way one afternoon and test drive that 15 on the jon boat. Ill throw a spinning rod in just in case you wanna try to make it like the last test drive!
  14. Yeah I see them too, trying to save on gas but thinking you have the idea. People really hang on to those smaller outboards around here.
  15. Looking for a decent running outboard. Need a tiller and short shaft. 80's or 90's model most likely will be in my price range. If you or anyone you know is selling let me know. Appreciate any help I can get.
  16. Old plug, what are these lead strips you speak of? You have my curiosity.
  17. I will see if I can sneak out Sunday, (March 2), for a little bit. I'm getting ready to leave for a year so my time is pretty tied up with the family. I'm sure I can work something out between now and then though.
  18. Thanks Duane for inducting me properly, you have definately showed me all of what Taney has to offer this year between the ducks, trout, and crappies. I appreciate the hospitality and look forward to linking up for some more fishing/hunting when I get back next year.
  19. Ok Wrench but I'm pretty sure the guide had more to do with that than the boat did. Although the guy on the trolling motor had his sh$t together in that wind.
  20. 1985 Ebbtide Dyna-Trak w/90hp Johnson V-4 serviced by Fishinwrench this past season. Good trolling motor and two fairly fresh batteries. $1400 all three titles in hand. If you are interested let me know and I'll give you the rundown on the entire boat.
  21. I would join you but I have a family outing planned on Taney. I would like to try up by the leadmine area, havent been up that way since before winter. Next week I might be able to sneak away for a few hours. Sucks you didn't catch much, I did see some fish there were the park dumps in and caught a couple, but that spot below the Bennett access was the ticket. They seemed to be stacked in there pretty good.
  22. How did you end up doing Rumrunner?
  23. Skip Jack kinda look like a miniature tarpon, similar fight in them too. Fun to catch in the tailraces in TN, before the stripers move in.
  24. Great idea F2F. I had already got them some bubbles for daylight fishing but I guess the same tactic would hold true for the nite bite. Didnt even think about the streamers with some lead, thanks!
