Posting this for a friend at work, I have never seen this boat in person so please contact her with further questions. This is what she gave me: 1988 Boat, 14' 10" that was flipped over in a lagoon during a tornado. Boat was stripped to clean up and restore but the restoration never got done. Also will need new wiring. 1985 Honda Motor 9.9 horse, she is unsure if this runs. 1988 trailer that requires new wiring Asking $600 OBO Contact Sandy at 573-578-2086, boat is located in Rolla.

I had a 16/48 also when I first moved here and I was able to run it on everything from the Gnade to the big lake O DURING THE OFF SEASON. That last part is important, the summer months on the lake with leave you swamped and cussing at all the big boats. Right now is perfect though, just watch the weather. Wrench is right just go bottom the darn thing out a few times until you figure it out. There are some accesses on post. Most turn their nose up to it because that is all they fish, the accesses. If you get away from them in your boat you might just be surprised at the quality of fishing that is nearby your workplace. PM me if you want any more info as I frequent most of the watersheds in your area, and if you see me out in the kayak (camo ascend) give me a shout...welcome to the area.

Good video thanks for posting! I have a question, as I'm a little ignorant to a few of the strategies I see on here. What is the point of the guy paddling in the middle of the boat on this river? I see there is a trolling motor on the front, why not just use that for minor corrections? Is it a noise thing? Easier to move the boat from the middle to offer better casts for the two fishermen? It just seems like those long oars would get in the way. I've drifted rivers in drift boats up in Wyoming and Montana and we use the oars in that case, but they are much faster moving rivers for the most part. Just curious about the application in this situation.

I tried that out on a section of LOZ that I had never fished, it worked awesome. I would get close then get on the trolling motor and watch till my phone showed us over one... then I would have my buddy "verify" with one of his jigs. He wasnt very happy with the way I deligated him out as the brush finder but I told him when he gets a boat I will do the same for him. The AP is a good idea, just wish I had signal for it everywhere...then again I enjoy my phone not ringing more than the app.

I have a couple spots I access on the Fort. This one is toward the southern end, I paddle upstream until I'm tired then just work the river back slowly. I do quite a bit of anchoring and wading along the way trying to hit every piece of structure. The really good part of the piney we floated this year was from Wilderness outfitter down to the fort, not sure how hard that water gets fished but it seemed like the fish had never seen a fluke in their lives the way they devoured them. I live closer to the Gasconade but work on post so I get a good split between the two rivers.

Took the kayak out after work tonight for a few hours on the big piney. The ducks and doves sure were moving around and got me excited for the upcoming duck season. I was able to connect with a few nice fish including this one, my biggest of the year just barely shy of 18". They were hitting a strike king river bug pretty good along with a fluke earlier in the evening. I caught a bunch of dinks but several were pushing that 16 and 17" mark and extremely fat. Great night to be out on the river.

Wrench we gotta get back out, I'll link up with you in the next couple weeks. MoSmallies, they were back in coves for the most part. It think some were out in the deeper water but it was hard to tell there was some pretty good chop out on the water yesterday. They were the smaller shad, but the bass were destroying them in the one cove I was in. The feeding lasted about an hour and it really got my heart rate up even though I didn't catch as many as you would think with all the activity. I had tried to fish those schools a couple weeks ago but I couldn't get anything to strike the baits I was throwing, then again they were not feeding like that back then either.

I got out of the house to chase crappies out on the Glaize for the day. Crappie fishing turned out to be a bust with nothing but short fish mostly, a couple keepers that lived to play another day. I quickly switched up to bass chucking brush hogs up against structure on the bank, and I'm glad I did. It turned out to be a pretty productive day, mostly short fish but I don't complain when they are bairly sublegal. I did end up catching 3 in the 4lb range. I worked the shad schools with a couple different baits and finally figured out how to fool them into hitting. I would take a white spinner bait and jerk it through the school really fast then let it drop as soon as they scattered, they would hit it on the fall. I also took a shad rap and ripped it through the same way, usually I would end up with a couple shad on the hook the bass would normally hit it while it was sitting stationary. I caught two of the bigger ones this way. Most the the fish on the brush hog came in less than 10 FOW. Great day....and very few boats.

After the last two seasons I've become a 2 blade Rage fan. I still shoot my 3 blade Muzzy 100's through the blind mesh, and I think they will always be my reliable back up. Just love the lethality of the rages from the tree, lots of blood and very little tracking. As with anything shot placement beats the best broadhead any day. Honestly though you are slighly more motivated than me, I cant seem to light a fire under my butt to get out and shoot in this darn heat. Good luck!

I cant tell you what a "fair" price would be but I will throw in my two cents, might not even be worth that. You caught my attention with the .45 dies and possibly some of the other stuff but I don't have a use for all of it. Maybe try splitting it or offer to split for the right price? Just an idea, by only selling the entire lot without the option of splitting some of it up you really are narrowing it down to a few specific people who might not ever read this. Then again you might sell it as I'm typing, what do I know. Good luck either way!

Try twisting your straps when you secure the yak to your vehicle before you go spending a bunch on money. I was ready to run my Tahoe off the road on my way back from purchasing my yak in Springfield the howling was so bad. I believe someone on here told me to put one twist on each side of the yak in my straps. That solved my problem, just a thought you might wanna try first.

Shocking The Crawlers
Flatbottom Boy replied to Flatbottom Boy's topic in General Angling Discussion
Ok yeah, Ive never messed with glass. Wire is all I own. The only problem I have with those is those sticky finger fokes that like taking them. Maybe if I hook a worm shocker up to one...... -

Chief, this is out of the regulation unless I'm missing something. Just want to be legal so let me know if there is something else you are reading. Thanks. Methods _ Live bait may be taken by trap, dip net, throw net, pole and line, or seine. _ Live-bait traps must have a throat opening not more than 1½ inches in any dimension, and must be labeled with the user’s full name and address, or Conservation Number. _ Traps must be removed if they cannot be checked at least once every 24 hours. _ Seines must not be more than 20 feet long and 4 feet deep, with a mesh of not more than ½ inch bar measure. _ Live bait, except fish, may be taken by hand. -

Holy crap chief thanks, I'll stick to the casting net then! Must have skipped over that one in the regs. Does anyone have an idea why they are outlawed? -
Shocking The Crawlers

I have tried the after shower thing here in my yard, no luck. We used to go out after rains on the local golf course and get thousands of them. I should try that here, my oldest daughter would have a blast. As far as buying them...well thats no fun! I trap minnows too, I'm kinda weird with doing things the hard way I guess. -
Growing up in Iowa we used to shock nightcrawlers when we were kids. (not the safest pastime for younger children, probably why I have such a fear of electricity now) I don't use them everyday but when I head up to Stockton or the Bull I like dragging crawlers for walleyes. My question is has anyone tried to build there own worm shockers and ever have any luck in our hard rocky soil here in Missouri? I find them turning rocks and timber over when I take the kids out but I'm debating on building some prods and try it out. Thanks all tight lines.

Salty, I caught the walleyes that I kept just outside of that cove to the left along those steep banks. But I was able to pick up some within the cove along the bank adjacent to the boat ramp while I was trolling back in. The best spot that I found was out toward the point and back into the cove about 500 yards. I was catching walleye and crappie in that spot but couldn't spend the time I wanted since I didn't know how much battery I had left. I would just work that whole shore out to the point and maybe bring two batteries, good luck. Walleyedmike, what town are you from in Nebraska? I used to play around a little down in those parts deer/pheasant hunting. Graduated highschool in Omaha. Oh and I was the guy with the chocolate lab in the boat with me...a little 16ft bass boat with an older Johnson on the back.

I had the boat in the water at 6am, not sure the name of the ramp I used but it was the first one on the left as you enter the state park heading north on 215. I hadn't fished this lake in a couple years which is painful to admit. I had my limit of walley by 9am bouncing crawlers in 20 FOW not far from the boat ramp. I had caught my last fish and attempted to start the boat up to move in and do some crappie fishing and the motor was stuck in reverse....fiddled with it so much I eventually couldn't get it started. Making the long haul back to the ramp with the trolling motor I drug a BPS baby shad in Icicle color about 10 ft down in about 20 FOW. I absolutely tore up the crappie and picked up half a dozen more walleyes (mostly short). If I wasn't so worried about running out of trolling battery juice I would have fished that shorline until dark or starvation kicked in. If the 3 Gentlemen that helped me load by boat after the motor failure are members and read this, thanks again it's always good to run into a helping hand when you need it. Good luck all.

You guys can actually put in on the fort also, I know Gavin had mentioned some issues leaving the vehicle parked over near the east gate, pretty sure those issues wouldn't happen on base. PM me if you want more info. Eric

I purchased two of the buy one get one free TFO Garry Loomis sig series rods that someone posted on the Sale forum. I picked up a 7' light action and a 6'6" ML for 50 bucks a rod...normal price is 99. I love them, great sensitivity. He is selling them on ebay now too.

Yes it was, my family was still hunting there and they lost two pit blinds. They were not complaining considering what everyone else lost though. Im not sure if they hunted it this year or got out of the whole deal, since most of us "kids" moved on it was only a couple of the old timers just using it to get out of the house. I would like to spend some time next year chasing pheasants and ducks, I miss hunting the way I did growing up. Now that we are stationed a little closer to home that will be possible. I hope the ice is thick this next couple weeks I will be in town visiting family, hopefully pull some big slabs through the ice at some of my old stomping grounds.

Hey Gilly I used to live up in Omaha years ago and had a blind over in the Honey Creek, IA area. Ralph is a legend up there. Have you read his book, Born to Hunt? It's worth your time if you get the chance.

Same story around the McCubbins point area. We are fishing rock edges though, a week ago I could see them hitting in a foot or two of water. Very nice slabs this winter, I've been very impressed. We havn't had to pull the measuring tape out much, if we think they are close we just release them...most there is no doubt. Nice catfish man! I bet that thing took you for a ride. Thanks for the report.
