  1. Nope, If having your flies in the mail by the 10th is ok then we are set to go.
  2. That looks sweet! ive dabbled in blue gil patterns on taney and i have caught numerous rainbows and a walleye on them! Have them in the mail by the 10th? i know i originally said the 15th but since there is only a few of us i think the 10th will be good.
  3. I'm fine with either. I personally will be tying single hook streamers on a 2/0 B10s gamakstu in trouty colors
  4. That sounds fine with me, in previous swaps we sent in some of our own just so everyone got the same group back, but that was with much larger participants so this should be fine. BS1827 should i go ahead and close it?
  5. ok if you guys agree i guess we will close this and start tying . Lancer is it better to tie two for ourselves and send 8 out or just 6?
  6. Have sent a couple PM. Some guys are just too busy this time of year and still waiting to hear from a few. My bro is not a forum user but he may be interested if you guys don't mind.
  7. Please check out the swap section of the fly fishing area of the forum if interested. Doing a streamer swap.
  8. Please check out the swap section of the fly fishing area of the forum if interested. Doing a streamer swap.
  9. Should i make a post in upper taney?
  10. Would anyone be willing to do a quick streamer swap, keeping it light at about 5 or 6 tiers? Not huge flies, say sizes 2-6. I don't mind hosting. Would like to have flies in the mail to me by Feb. 15th. 1. Dylan 2.Lancer 3.bs1827 4.Donny S 5.
  11. Idaho considers rainbows over twenty inches to be steelhead.
  12. The trip was great, I caught two of the biggest smallies i ever have. The mouth of the Montreal is incredible, but we did not hook any fish.
  13. Yes Sir, if I was trespassing I did not mean too.
  14. We took my little brother fishing at Roaring River today, he is 10 and likes it very much, but he's still figuring it out. He casts a fly rod very well for his age. We did decent today on gray scuds in size 14, 16, mega worms were also doing well. We stayed on the move hitting various pools and I think that was a big part of it. The park was pretty busy today, I thought. The water was nice but I think I have seen it clearer, although I don't fish RR often so it may be normal. I didn't fish below the park but did go look around a little. Are there any deeper spots downstream of the access past that little point that sticks out? I really didn't go down very far.
  15. Night bite has been good, streamers in white, black, and olive have been treating us well. Eggs as well as scuds, if your a glo stick nymphing.
  16. Can we see a pic of your version? interested in it for smallies
  17. I had thought long and hard about at 2 handed rod a few years ago but did not purchase one. Thinking heavily of it again. What kind of $ would a starter set up cost?
  18. What nymphs would be acceptable to use on the buffalo river in January-April?
  19. Thanks! Going to tie some of those up!
  20. I've done some reading on nymphing for smallies, and there is quite a bit of literature on the web about doing so. What aquatic insects are in the Buffalo, and particularly in the winter and spring months. I'm looking for runs with decent pools at the end. Any suggestions? Also interested in doing an overnight trip with about a 5 mile hike in, camping and fishing, then hiking out the next day. Any suggestions?
  21. You should be fine at two units, for sure at 3. If you are up at the dam and notice the water dropping, get down stream! The gravel bar at outlet 3 is super shallow at 1 unit.
  22. The trout population is so great, and the walleye population so low you can't say you are effectively walleye fishing below the dam. Plus much better walleye water a short drive away.
  23. Heading to TN in late May for an anniversary trip. I will be doing a little fishing, (hopefully). I do not care to catch rainbows and browns, I REALLY want to catch brookies, them being my main interest. Does any one know specific streams to try, from my research there is a ton of water in the park.
  24. Has anyone fished or hiked Richland Creek in Arkansas? A buddy and I are looking to go down in a week or so and was wondering if anyone had any tips?
  25. You can cover so much more water with a two handed or spey rod. I was out in the boat a month or so ago and the water was up on Taney, maybe 2 units or so and a gentlemen was fishing out in front of outlet 3. I thought he had a nice D loop.
