  1. Hey all, just seeing if anyone has any interest in another swap. I'll go ahead and host, I was thinking something like a hopper swap or even a baitfish swap, OR go ahead and start the swap for the next fall Brown trout swap. We can even set up both with different due dates for each. Let's hear some thoughts.
  2. They aren't too hard once you get the hang of them. I've always spun them in thread in a loop, but people who mess wwith them a lot make them separate from the fly, before tying it down and wrapping it on. The key to them at least for me is having all the real long craft fur hairs out and the shorter more even stuff only in the loop. When you wrap it forward you have to brush everything back with each wrap. They just take some time getting used to. Combing them back helps after you have finished wrapping them as well. I can try and take some pictures sometime and put them up.
  3. Anything with a faster action will throw those bigger bugs and sink tips. Any reason for going with a 6 over an 8?
  4. Granatos stuff is solid for sure! He just seems to put so much on a hook. I've never fished it much but I do like his craft fur heads big time.
  5. Another great fly, and possibly the justification I needed to just suck it up and buy some jig hooks. Who's the next tyer? Myself? Ah, I'd be flattered.
  6. It did get a but old, but I still wasn't able to pack them as tight as who did the red and white popper, that thing is solid. I did fish them and caught a good laregmouth on FS's popper last night, and lost one on Mic's pb&j. I also lost a small bass and had a hit on the small craw fly but lost it a few casts later. I k.ew these flies would work.
  7. The flies made it!!!! I'm sure mine got lost along the way, and the metal tin I sent them in is beat to all hell. OB thanks for hosting and sorry for being such a bitchy little girl. Great work everyone. Inspection Update: I was impressed when I looked at these in the car, but now that I get to take them out these flies are awesome. I've been in quite a few swaps on some national forums, but the ones I have been a part of here, especially this one are top notch. All of the flies are tied well, and are just flat out going to catch fish. I'll be at TR this weekend and will definitely be fishing these. Ness, about yours, when fishing it do we actually tie to the line you have tied on there, or remove that and thread the popper head like a tube so if we get broken off we still get the head back?
  8. I'm sure they will show up sometime. It's not like I fish enough anyway.
  9. I don't unless the mail came in the last half hour.
  10. I have my eagle, but didn't do a whole lot with my troop. I did plenty outdoors without them, they did everything to simply and I just felt like it held me back from what I wanted to do most of the time.
  11. Way Cool! It's amazing how big those nests really are.
  12. Mine is the deerhair diver w/ the orange tail and the cone head bugger looking deal.
  13. I have yet to see mine as well. I know that he isn't too far from Springfield and thought they would have shown up by now. I hate busting anyone's balls about this because I know things do come up, but frankly I busted my butt to get mine done on time, and having hosted a swap I KNOW that it doesn't take THAT long to divide everything out.
  14. You may find some help down here in the fly fishing section, but I doubt crank bait rods are much a specialty down here.
  15. I had plans to head over for this. Stuff comes up. Maybe next time.
  16. I'll probably begin moving that direction sometime Friday afternoon/evening. Justin, or whoever, just let me know what you guys need brought.
  17. This works for me. I'm pretty open and can bring whatever is asked of me. Beer for certain, food stuffs of some choice I can also do. I also want to throw streamers out of a boat if I could. It seems like kind of a neat thing to do.
  18. Iff'n you all will have a newb around I would like to tag along!
  19. Airbrushed? I can definitely wait.
  20. Lucas- Swinging small softhackles is always productive. If not just drift scuds and egg patterns. Also small zebra midges should work plenty well also. Do yourself a favor and fish down or away from the outlets, don't get dependant on only being able to catch fish in them.
  21. For mine I built fish attractors for the local conservation area. A bunch of buckets, a ton of pvc cut to random lengths and quickreeted in. If you do those saw the lip of the buckets off so there is nothingn to get snagged on for fisherman. I made 24 for a fairly resonable cost, and it took us one morning to build them all and another week for the concrete to cure. super easy.
  22. I shipped mine on Friday. OB, sorry, I didn't put my user name on their. Mine are going to be in the Coleman tin.
  23. I'm all finished up. Should hit the mail tomorrow.
  24. I need the address as well, mine are going to be wrapped up this week.
