  1. The only place i know of is in Springfield at tranthams off of ks expressway and chestnut expressway. If I am going up that way i usually go there a day before since we usually leave before they open and have him put them in an bag of oxygenated water. It costs a buck or so more for the bag and they stay great over night and have no trouble of losing minnows.
  2. The wife and I decided late morning to fish for a few hours Sunday. Put in at nemo about 11:00 and fished until 2:00. Found our fish all on timber 9'-15' fow. Most of the fish were nearly on the bottom and they were hugging the trees. Seems like we had to be withing 6-8 inches of the timber. Most had 1-2 fish but did find one cluster of 3 trees that held 6 fish. We left with 1 limit between both of us. Had not been in nearly 2 months so we were glad to catch anyting at all! We had our liscence checked, twice in 1 year was the most I have had in my entire life. Same younger guy (probably 35 or so) had checked me both times. Nice guy seems like he does a really good job. I was about to get irritated when he pulled up in his fish and ski boat thinking it was someone that was gonna fish right on top of us. Sneaky guy!
  3. No we found them in the mouth of coves. When we went in the coves we couldn't catch anything. We stayed just to the outside and worked from on end to the other.
  4. My buddy and I put in at nemo about 8:30 and got off about 3:00. we mainly fished 15-25 fow. Most of our fish were caught 10'-12' down. We caught them on minnows and jigs. Blue/pearl was color of choice. Left with 17 good fish all were 10"-13" only threw back 4 shorts. The crappie were thumping it today they seemed hungary. First time having my liscence checked on Pomme. Nice guy just making his rounds. It sure did get warm out there today, I actually used my brain and drank lots of water and used sun block. Tom
  5. Does anyone know if the ramps at Cedar Ridge are open? I know they were closed late this summer but don't know about now. Thanks, TOm
  6. I think he was serious, and I am also wondering why no piles south of the bridge at cedar ridge.
  7. Is anyone else having problems with the download. I can't get it to open or anything. I just did this earlier this spring and it went smooth. Tom
  8. Put in a Roark Bluff about 7:30 Sunday. Never been to this part of the lake. I always put in at Cedar Ridge but thought we would try something new. We pulled up to the first brush pile I could find and it was all over from there. caught around 75 fish total and kept 27 nice ones all of that 1 pile. The fish were 10"-13" with a mix of black and white. All fish were caught in 15 fow about 10' deep. The crappie were striking hard at the minnows. It was a really fun day of fishing and a great day just to be on the lake. Tom
  9. Hi all, I have sister-in-law and family staying in Springfield with me for a few days and I rented a pontoon from Cricket Creek Marina to take the kids out on the water Saturday. (7 won't fit in my 16' ranger) I spend all my time up at Stockton and don't know table rock well. I would like to get into some Crappie but at this point blue gill is plenty good for me. Just want to show them a good time! Down at Cricket Creek Marina area, what is my best bet for bait and where is good to fish? I figure I'll take a couple dozen minnows, night crawlers and some crickets. Good enough? Thanks for your input.
  10. RPS and all other thanks for the info it was very helpful.
  11. One other question that I have, what is a better reel to have a spinning or baitcast for trolling?
  12. Maybe something that would work for either Walleye or Crappie. If that would work?
  13. What type of rod action or stiffness is best used for trolling say at Stockton?
