  1. What a shame Knuckleheads don't get it I coming down I guess Gotta see if I've stumbled on a walleye technique that works on other rivers
  2. Is that area jet boat worthy?
  3. I fish primarily for hybrids also but I guess I'm not sophisticated enough to drift fish with shad I usually just hope they come up with the whites. I would love to try that. I saw you drifting around 03. The walleye were just to easy for some reason We did limit out on whites two days. The walleye were in the gap between the pea gravel point which is still under water, and the opposite end from osage bluff. Turpin cove on right out of osage has been holding more big shad this year than anywhere I've seen. Right around that boat ramp. I killed the everything in there 3 weeks ago. From main point to that ramp. Trolling with cranks. Dang I'm jealous of you catching them hybrids. I dream of those suckers. Best eating too.
  4. The first limit I caught was Thursday evening when I got there. I was in a tan deck boat with a severily undersized trolling motor so I tied off on the furthest tree from the tip of the point. There was a seam there just like on the rivers I fish. Bomber cranks until I lost them all then I switched over to whatever I had that dove 7 to 12 foot. Chartreuse had to be on the lure. Any combination worked as long as chartreuse was on it. After that I was either in a black river pro or a astro fish n ski. My brothers boats. We also caught a bunch off kk standing on the bank. Couldn't buy a fish trolling but could limit out every time just casting. Weird. The guys trolling at kk crowded us pretty bad and hosed it up Seamed like they wanted it a foot off the bottom and you had to bring it downstream to there open mouths. Exactly like the rivers. I totally stumbled onto this successful weekend and don't expect to do it again. There was one other guy in a grey colored older bass boat with a Yamaha on it. He tore fish up! He was really cool and I wish everyone on that lake was as friendly and he actually found one of my cranks floating and knew it was mine and gave it back. He said he lost a 30" walleye at kk. Hope this helps I only get to go to Truman 3 times a summer and I would move there if I could. That lake has it all
  5. Think of this; stock the meramec with walleye. Change limit to two fish per day and 20" length limit. I think it's a grand idea. Just need some donations . Stock them all the way up at mouth so by the time they get down by me they are big. I guess I'm bored cause the river is up and dirty again.
  6. Put in yesterday morn at 5:15 am. Ran up to Sherman bridge. Mississippi has it backed up and void of life seemingly Did catch a walleye and a spot
  7. I was there everyday from Thursday through Sunday. I limited out on walleye everyday. 9lb was biggest. Lots of whites and few hybrids.
  8. Last summer two retards at shady beach tried same thing. They got busted!
  9. That was me
  10. That's where I caught fish two weeks ago
  11. If you go above highway K bridge where the river splits in two different spots it is a must to stop and turn your motor off. Listen for opposite direction boats before navigating through. I met two gator boats in the jungle run. They stood down as I was the downstream headed boat. Does anybody not know to always yield to the boat headed downstream ? Believe me they don't Easiest way to tell a weekend warrior. No etiquette on water. Or common since.
  12. I just don't see why anyone would want to eat a smallmouth. I'd eat a drum over a smallie
  13. Ran up above pickles ford. River has several treacherous spots to navigate. Caught a lot of smallmouth including a double. 2 on same lure at same time. Gathering up my family and headed back out. Top water would be my first pick if you wanted to catch a lot of bass. Buzz bait in fast water would be the no brainier for today with all the boat traffic
  14. Gonna try the dirty water in the morn. Will let u know how the last flood changed things. I'm not very hopeful of catching any walleye. The dirty water and my technique don't jive. C u on the water if your up that early
  15. Good call Gavin. I agree. The meramec seems to turn into chocolate milk every week. My creek just don't do it for me anymore so I just guard her. It's fun for my daughters and me to catch a can of crawdads and feed the local fish and watch em fight over a free meal.
  16. Invitation is still open Kayser. Get your butt out here and catch em
  17. I like Ed. He's a hoot to hang out with. He let me tag along before he got his license and after he did I went back and did the paid guided service. By the way couldn't think of a finer place to take the misses to
  18. Next time I could shuttle you 3 miles up and you could hit the multiple beaver holes. I love my creek and will miss her. I have 2 contracts on it now. Luckily my mom bought a farm on the little injun. Not near the diversity but nonetheless a good smallie crik the meramec is hosed up again for few days with last nights rain
  19. Did you see any otter sign? Any goggle eye?
  20. I was there Saturday morn. Crappie and catfish was all I seen getting caught
  21. "Spots" are everywhere. I can't tell where my spots are cause every 3 or 4 hundred yards of river has a "spot". Forthcoming enough ?
  22. There is certainly a lot of interest amongst all of us. And the guy who watched me net a 25" last summer has covered a lot of water trying to figure it out
  23. Could you imagine if they put some stfrancois river strain walleye in her.
  24. I'd fish for bass anywhere up from red horse Watch out on way up though. Stay right! Two new bad spots. My wife calls them the Jungle tour. You will see why.
