  4. Uh...... Seriously ? Come on guys. It wasn't even close. They were at a public ramp and there's a giant boulder on other side No one was at fault most people put in there and get off that inside corner as soon as possible to the other side but not sure what they were doing slowly going up river. Nonetheless no people or animals were harmed not even close. The river pro could have come to a complete stop so fast anyway if needed. Or spun into a 360 and went back upriver Or simply drive around em. Sorry but not really seeing anything here to squawk about. Move on. Step aside and let the man go through.
  5. Awesome advice Al. I guess I haven't thought a lot about how I do things but because of my walleye fishing I have found a new approach to a spot im pulling up to fish. I nearly always attack from downstream of the hole and work up to where I really think they are just picking away at the water a cast at a time. Casting up and pulling it down like your drifting a fly to a trout I always use my imagination that I see the fish and this cast means everything to catch him. Expect a bite. I always expect a bite. If I get sloppy I go home. No sense in being out there if I'm not in it
  6. Hahahaha! Cat like reflexes It gets tiring unless your catching fish. Once you get used to your trolling motor you don't even look at it. You can tell by the pedal what direction it's pointed. I set mine to barely gain ground on the current. Unless I snag up then I let 82 lbs of thrust go.
  7. Spot on. I seen 4 boats all year gigging. They had poor conditions. I really don't care what anyone thinks or says I've lived on the river for most my 43 years and have seen a truckload of stuck bass over the years gigging sucks for gamefish. Period. How can anyone argue continuously over a mute point? Moving on. Back to the fishing.
  8. Needless to say I am on some pretty good pods of big fish. Some of my spots have gone empty after the last flood. Those fish moved up and scattered on rocky banks. Other spots just started. In the next 3 weeks I expect more and more fish then it will get not so good because they will be in spawn locations. Not my favorite time to fish. Oh well. I'm thoroughly enjoying catching some quality fish and numbers through the roof. On my quest for a true giant.
  9. I had a hour to kill so I ran 10 minutes down from my house, which is a long way in my boat, to try some new fish. Man did I find a pod I didn't take pics of any others but had 6 fish over 15". I love short violent trips. Run and gun. Jerk bait smalliebigs gave me found the fish then I murdered em with the craw. Mitch craw. Life is good !!!
  10. Your the man. You are as good a angler as I have ever seen You caught your fish. I never seen someone take such care of a fish. Kept em in water and lively your passion is clear Thanks oaf for the chance to meet and fish with unbelievable anglers !
  11. Is it just me or are these rivers chock full of big fish. Good fish Brian. Lower or middle big though ? Let's categorize the big Where's lower stop? Pm me
  12. Your turn tomorrow. Bring the action. Catch me if you can style fishing though. This pattern should be all up and down the river so let's run and gun.
  13. Yes they are. They have made my life a little easier on the river. Very rarely do I not throw it. I usually throw a seek and destroy lure to find fish then I pummel em with the craw. They will almost always eat it
  14. It ain't walleye but nice filler !
  15. I don't want to keep boring everyone with pictures so Smallie bigs can post em More of the same though. Big fish and big numbers.
  16. Service berry is only thing in the woods I see bloomed
  17. It's a no go for the rest of the weekend boys.
  18. The whites and walleye needed this rise to get up to spawning riffles
  19. The river is up at least 4' and dirty as can be.
  20. I hate to keep boring you guys with pics but....
  21. Today's action was likewise. 50 fish in 2 hours. Many over 15". Here's some of em.
  22. Any number of you guys could do what I'm doing. I just happen to know when it's on fire and I go. I'm telling you it's on fire. Look back to a year ago what I remember posting about a 40 fish in one spot. It's happening all up and down the river. It's not just one spot. It's the head of every winter hole on the river or the next good riffle with a deep gravel dump. If it's dead water right now it's truly dead. Not even largemouth are in the dead water. 57 degree water! I been using seek and destroy baits to get a bite then I position my boat to put the perfect in your face presentation and that's where I draw the line on the info.
