  1. Also I'm not terrified at all. I do love my family enough to protect them. Evil is real and I choose to be willing to defend against it should it show up where I am. So if that gives ccw carriers a bad name then so be it. Your opinion doesn't dictate that. You'll either get over or you won't.
  2. A typical response from someone trying to keep their head above water. Next you'll be critiquing my spelling and grammatical errors. I am well aware of the ins and outs of where a person is permitted to carry. It seems you are as guilty of making a big deal over words. If you want to hear it from someone that trains for a living (civilian and military), is an ex-police officer, ex-military, who lives this stuff daily, then I will gladly give you his number. He is also one of the most selfless, brave people I know and carries everywhere daily. He also refers to it as NOT being a criminal offense, because it's not. There is a difference. The bottom line is you are wrong and look worse every time you post. If you don't like what I say about it then you don't like the law and are welcome to ignore me and keep your mouth shut. It's really that easy. This started because I wanted an explanation from Oakley about a rule that doesn't make sense. I don't like it but it's their tournament to run so I won't fish it. I didn't throw a fit or start a petition. I just wanted an answer and I think that's fair. Had everyone else not got bent about gun laws it would have stopped there so thank them and yourself for the direction this topic has went.
  3. Illegal and criminal offense are two different things. In Missouri I can only be asked to remove my gun from the premises by whoever is in charge. If I don't an officer can be summoned. He can warn me. Next time is a fine. Then another. Then my license is revoked.
  4. I did dude. Reread this whole thing. He answered, I thanked him, you and others brought BACK up, so I replied.
  5. It's not a criminal offense to carry at a school in Missouri btw. I don't visit places that have it posted "no guns" unless it's inevitable, ie hospital, and some liberal doctors offices. Again not a criminal offense in Missouri so....... Besides most don't have a regulation sized legal sign anyway.
  6. Please tell me when I "need" my carry gun that way I'll know to avoid that situation. If you know when you'll need or not need it you either don't get it or you are way wiser than anyone else carrying. It's a ridiculous rule by Oakley and none of their business if I carry or not. If I can't abide by their rules I won't fish it. I'm not going to weigh in s fish knowing I'm breaking a rule and neither should anyone else. The law is ridiculous also. Why on earth would a ccw permit holder not be allowed to carry on a boat ramp? I'm trusted to carry at 99% of other locations but not a ramp? Come on! If someone is bent on killing another at a ramp or anywhere not having a gun won't stop them. Me having a firearm sure puts the odds in my favor though if someone takes a notion to attack me.
  7. Lol!
  8. Oh shoot. I must be thinking of something else. It did have sportsman in the name though lol. Thanks for the info.
  9. My only concern is weight. I've barely used the thing but learned quick it doesn't take much weight to get it down or make it a load for the rod. I run as many weightless hooks as I can. Again I'm by no means a guru on the thing. At all.
  10. Where is that located? I've only been to the one in okc and I think it shut down years ago.
  11. I can see why. I don't "intend" to draw on anyone unless there is a threat to my life or more importantly the lives of my loved ones. The unarmed part is kind of an ignorant statement.
  12. I really didn't mean for it to turn into a crapfest I promise. I was seeking answers and offering feedback. I still don't get why it must be in your rules if all other corps rules aren't but that's your choice. Looks like things may be changing. It's easy to see why. http://www.nraila.org/news-issues/articles/2014/10/corps-regulation-violates-core-right-of-selfdefense.aspx?s=%22Army+Corps+of+Engineers%22&st=&ps= Anyway, thanks for the explanation.
  13. Well we don't see eye to eye on that but whatever. If you aren't comfortable with it then by all means do not carry. I on the other hand am and am capable. My gun is secured whether on or off my person. The point is I can legally carry. I can carry at the same lake on the same day as the Oakley tournament. Why have a redundant pointless rule? It would be the equivalent of them adding a speed limit to the lake that day. Actually that would make even more sense. I know I don't have to fish it if I disagree. I won't. In fact I didn't fish Grand because of this rule. Is it an insurance thing that somehow only affects Oakley? Or an agenda? As a "customer" I'm just giving feedback to them. Also before the age old question "are you expecting trouble" question is raised the answer is no. If I was expecting trouble anywhere I'd avoid that place. The fact is I don't know when or if I'll need it which is the reason I carry. Nobody expects there life to be in danger in everyday life.
  14. What specifically is "that?" People carrying or forgetting? I take the forgetting as more of a sign of comfort. It not like I notice that I have my wallet on me. That type of comfort.
  15. I carry everywhere. Most ccw permit holders do.
  16. Hog hunting sounds fun but I wouldn't wish them on our farmers. I'm sure they'll be more prevalent in our area eventually.
  17. A guy at work got to witness a pair fighting in his yard this week. On their hind legs just going crazy I guess.
  18. Not arguing that it doesn't happen. I imagine a fair share of dogs just get shot because the hunter was frustrated that they came through.
  19. The guy in the story wasn't even that far out judging by the gun he used. He pretty much just screwed up on that deal.
  20. I suppose that could happen. It obviously did. I've heard of worse. The guys up north targeting coyotes at great distances likely have pretty mean optics to identify them positively.
  21. That's not all bad things then I guess.
  22. Well I'm no expert at all but as always it depends on your budget. I have a 3+ silver. I'd like a 4+ silver. The 4+ black is overkill for most people. You can compare them side by side on gopros site. The wifi feature is important to me because the phone app makes using it a lot easier and handier too.
  23. Pretty easily entertained I see.
  24. But his perspective in real life, actually being there, may be different. Suitable?
  25. I'm hoping you guys come around and remove the rule of no firearms in the boat. I haven't seen another series with that.
