  1. I was down there myself and caught a few browns in the actual river. Went down river 300 or so yards and did okay. Caught a lot of nicer (Better than Bennett) rainbows in the first pool stripping in cracklebacks. I was the only fly fisherman up there for the longest time. When I started heading down stream the fish were few and far between until I started drifting nymphs in the river. Overall I caught 22 rainbows and 4 browns.
  2. Looks good. Like everyone else says more selection and wet flies would help. Different colors would be nice and I don't see any beadhead copper johns? Just non beadhead.
  3. Well my buddy and I are going down for a few days and we were going to stay at my buddies place but he'll be at drill that weekend now. So we are looking for a cheaper place to go camping down there. Anyone have any good places?

    Browns

Stocking from a boat would be ideal but they don't want to waste their time with that kind of stuff.
  5. I fish that part of the Meramec all the time. The biggest I've caught out of there was an 18" smallie. I have a cabin right down the road off Little Indian Creek Road and right next to that public area.
  6. Wow this sucks....Considering I love felt soled boots. And I just bought my girlfriend some new boots that I guess she only gets to use once.
  7. I have figured out to just drive up there and place a chair at the site or on the driveway and then go pay for it. It seems like they don't know what they are doing there that much.
  8. Wish I would have seen this earlier. I was down there in CG#5 which like said before there really isn't any grass but the air mattress does good. I usually camp at riverfront but with gas prices being so high I have to take the focus for the MPG. Quiet time this weekend and hardly anyone down there (At the CG#5) . + I got to try out my new 9' 4wt.
  9. Thanks guys. Gatorjet - I'll be at Taneycomo Friday Oct 7-10 as it looks right now. For sure the 7-9. I have a really good friend that lives about 30 minutes away saying I can just use his house as my hotel so I'm gonna jump on it. I've never been there personally but heard it is great fishing.
  10. When I'd rather be fishing or hunting! I'm Eric and live in St. Louis. I love the outdoors pretty much for anything. I kayaked over 400 miles last year mainly in Feb - June. I hunt everything from coyotes to deer to squirrels and can't get enough. I also am a huge fly fisherman and can't get enough of it. And I also love motorcycles, dirt or street it doesn't really matter to me. 20" Brown I caught at BSSP after dinner. I didn't even feel like putting my wadders on. Stripping in a brown woolie. And my other outdoor addict hobby lol.
