  1. That sucks TFR. I've seen that happen on 44 once and the guy passed me going 80+mph and hit a little bump and fell off. Thank god the chains didn't break.
  2. Thanks for the info SB. Might try it out Sunday morning and if I'm they are hitting I might be sick for work lol. I just bought a 2000 17' proweld with a Johnson 50 (I've heard mixed reviews on the motor) I've just been really anxious to try it out and do some fishing considering the last real fishing I've been able to do was a week trip down to Taney.
  3. I haven't been there yet but my dad goes there a lot with a friend during the winter time to fish for hybrids. I just bought a new to me boat and want to try it out. Does anyone go up there to do some fishing in the winter time? BTW don't ever buy a boat where you have to work 3 weeks in a row. It's a killer!
  4. Yea I know some of the olympic trials were held in that lake and when the worlds fair was here you could get cannoe rides around the lake. It's a pretty neat lake except for the old guy who lives on a corner. He'll call the cops on anyone he doesn't know and get trespassing charges on them. Did it to my friend who had permission and just forgot his flag.
  5. Yea there isn't many big lakes in Overland. I put a depth finder on the boat for giggles and it registered as deep as 65' deep. There are 7 springs in the lake (I do believe most are dried up) but still pretty neat. And it ends up according to wikipedia it's only 12 acres. During the spring we see a 5+ pounder every week if we fish it a lot. More than welcome to come out also!
  6. I fish a 17 acre private lake in Overland, MO. Biggest bass I've caught was 10lbs 2oz. I'll take you out there next spring if you want considering most of my friends aren't serious into fishing or hunting.
  7. NIce. Night fishing is so much fun.
  8. I try not to take running shots because of the "big" factor but it is split second decisions. He came running behind me seen 4 points easily on 1 side so I said it is a neck or nothing shot. I have never lost a deer with a gun and have only missed once 12 years ago when I was 12. When I brought him into town where I shot him I had several people ask if I was going to mount him and some people thought I was crazy when I said no. I've shot over 50+ coyotes on running shots after shooting the first one so why not do it with a deer when it has been so productive with me coyote hunting?
  9. Shot this one opening day of rifle season in the neck while running threw the woods. Only shitty part was I thought he was bigger (I would have passed) and the property owner's son got mad at me getting one before him (first time hunting on this property) and already kicked me off from hunting deer.
  10. Welcome. Wish I lived closer so it could be my main fishery also.
  11. I have always done deer sausage with my friend but he moved over the summer because of his job. Might just do it myself if I can't find anyone. I'm about to get a grinder just gotta wait until pork butts go on sale. I know I have a place to hang mine but not enough room for 2.

    Nice Buck

He's a shooter. I don't shoot bucks unless they are gonna end up on the wall.
  13. Save your money and not go to GIR it sucks! Track is shitty but its only 30 minutes from my house. I actually decided not to run next year and save the $ for hopefully a new house. Putnam is a fun track that doesn't have too many complicated turns and run offs everywhere. Gateway you can hit a wall pretty easily.
  14. Tom Shaw? He is a big racer who sells a lot of bikes. Here is a picture from GIR earlier this year. Sadly I went down twice this year one was my fault the other was someone elses.
  15. I've shot a few does and a couple turkeys. Missed a decent 8 a couple weekends ago. I'll be out every weekend till thanksgiving.
  16. Same here Stu. I have a 07 r6 that had about 12000 miles and only 2000ish is street miles. The daytona 675s are such an awesome bike. You ever go to Heartland? It's my favorite track lol.
  17. Yep. Most bass won't hit for a couple days after you have them hooked. If they miss it or you miss time the setting of the hook and they didn't feel it you still have a chance but not as high of a chance. Read an article in bass masters that after a large mouth was caught most of the fish wouldn't hit another bait for 36 hours.
  18. Welcome. I fish Bennett from time to time when the girlfriend wants to go out. The 675 for triumph?
  19. What broad heads are you using? Fixed or mechanical?
  20. Thanks again Phil. Fishing the attractors was my favorite part even though they weren't the best that day.
  21. I'll be down there Sunday threw Friday for sure maybe longer. IDK for sure after Friday though. I'll be fishing mainly during daylight hours but several late sessions will be in.
  22. What are you fishing for? Location?
  23. Welcome! I love the twin cities and go up there every year. Go Twins!
  24. Phil I saw the stamp and was gonna have the old lady buy it tomorrow but I'm looking for the bigger prints.
  25. I'll be sending him a PM here shortly. Thanks Laker!
