We went last Wednesday and started at Watts just after sunrise. The fish were eating tiny light Cahill type flies on the surface, but I didn't have anything small enought to match. Smallest I had was about a 20 and I missed 1 rise to that fly. I tried all the usual combos on nymphs, midges, scuds, buggers and nothing worked consistently. It was super slow all day, only about 8 fish I think. I started to think it was just me, but nobody else was hooking up either. After Watts we tried the kiddie pool, below the island and eventually Marval. Our thought was that Wednesday was the first day in a few to hit 90 plus degrees. With no strong generation flow for 24 hours, they were just sluggish once the sun hit the water.
BTW, I was shocked how many Carp there were down at Marval. Had to be 100 or more in that stretch.
