  1. Wayne i guess my point is more this, Who will go to see one if they fear that their rights might be taken away? How many Parents now maynot take kids to see one because they fear their rights and their kids future rights might be taken away? And then finally there are those saying we should have to have a mental check-up before we buy a gun, this one is Dangerous AND I have explained why before.
  2. I will second that motion, Duane will keep you laughing all day and is great company with a lot of knowledge.
  3. Roaring river from horn till 10am then drive over to Taney and have at it till dark followed by a even shot on Powersite. Think multiple spots why limit yourself with so much beautiful waters.
  4. Al, I was at one time with you on killing just for killing ( when it came to P-dogs ) but then i went out to see what it was all about and talked to some of the ranchers in the area and was shown pictures of Horses and cattle that had fallen into a dog hole or run, I could see there point. I questioned them on other methods and quickly found out shooting was the best method for control. I think you have seen me post enough to know I beleive in conservation highly and they were able to sway my opinion. But I dont think a 30rnd mag would be my choice due to barrel heating if fire a lot in a short time causing it to be inaccurate, A Bolt action bullbarrel would be far more effective. The 30rnd mags are more for people who do compition shoots or people who just want to bang off alot of money fast. But its there money I put more value on accuracy than I do blowing off ammo. Here is the thing though I hear and see on the net so many people that think AR stands for Automatic Rifle or Assault Rifle, most are against them and the high cap mags, They want to ban them and do not even know what they are, how stupid is that!? I saw a picture of an AIRSOFT rifle painted black on one website and people said they wanted to ban it when the OP shared what it was SILENCE followed from all the big mouth internet badasses. These are the kind of people wanting to ban things and they do not even know what they are. I do like this thread and the civility everyone is talking maybe washington should take a lesson from it, heck put 10 people in washington with common since and i bet we could solve alot of the nations problems. First thing that really needs to be banned is the Purple Dinosaur though.
  5. Im just curious, WITHOUT LOOKING when was the constitution ADOPTED? no peeking
  6. Ya the last sentance would be overturned by SCOTUS so fast it wouldnt be funny, plenty of case law about Doc Pat Conf that i think we will already see alot of the POTUS executive order challenged and shot down. Privacy especially medical is very touchy. Cross refferancing people that live with you, Ya that will be as well same reason.
  7. Jack I would assume you are talking about Federalist Paper 29, to base that off of.
  8. RFD, I preach that to every new hunter i take out. The first shot should be the best shot and a clean kill to respect the animal. I refrain from taking "long shots" when waterfowl hunting with new people so they dont think ( he did it i can ) attitude. No waterfowler likes sky busting. Clean kills should be taught for birds 30yrds and under and it should go with a lot of Sportingclays and skeet shooting in the off season. For big game hunting I think most people take shots that are way to far and often with under powered weapons for the job. They also have no idea of how adjust the scope for the load windage and elevation and for that i say sight the gun in at 200 yards and no your bullets impact at 100 and 300 yrds and take no shot past 300. Guys that make the long shots put a lot of time in learning the gun, scope, load, windage, elevation how temperature effects the bullet etc. Its not about pulling the trigger and hoping for a hit. It is about everything that goes into it including time spent looking not at the target but everything between you and it. My longest shot 927 yrds I spent over 30 minutes on the Antelope pickking out every branch and twig i could see that could deflect the shot, I did so many calculations on the above mentioned item in that time and it was after 1000's of rounds down range that gave me the confidence to make all it come togeather. This is why i really wish people spent more time getting to know their weapon, hunting, plinking or even home protection the more you know the weapon the safe it is and you are and everyone else. I know what you mean about multiple shots on animals and wish i could say i never had to take a second or third but the truth is it happens. What I hate is something i saw this year. some kids on youth deer unleash 6 rounds of 00 buck at a running doe, They dam near hit a couple fishermen, and right there with them was their dad ( assume dads) whooping and hollering to keep shooting. To me people like that need to have the guns taken from them. And yes i do think there are people who shouldnt have guns, same as i said for years when i was doing reptile education and even as an instructer for venomous education. I actually refused to sign off on several peoples permits and made sure to write a letter to the state explaining why they should not issue the permit to them. Some people want to be MACHO for lack of better words and they are dangerous to themselves and others. But with guns we have the RIGHT to them and unless your a felon or mentally ill there is not much that can be done to keep them out of peoples hads, We can require at least a course (required) to own them, Hunters must have hunter ed and to carry concealed you must take a course. Either of those will help a little and IMO do not violate anyones right. Maybe forcing people to take one of them might make people pause and determine if they really want a gun and maybe after one they might be more careful with one, certainly more knowledgable.
  9. Al, i made a video today but cant figure out how to get it posted or if i screwed up making it... anyway... I showed firing 3 15 round mags in 14 seconds, I then did 3 10 round mags in 12 seconds. IMO there is no way in this world anyone will stop someone a shooter who can switch mags that fast. 30 rounds or 45 rounds no differnt its still a lot of lead down range. So to me the mag cap is moot.
  10. Ya i have to laugh at all the ammo buying its rather funny, I usually buy most my stuff all at one time in summer when i get my waterfowl and hunting loads, there were some great deals on 40cal this year so i stocked up even though i didnt need anymore. This was actually a long time looking for my wife process and when i found matching xdm's today and sycn numbers it was a no brainer. She like 40cal and now maybe i can shoot my glock without having to share. Besides the prices were great on the pair. Next will be another grendel build I think or 10/22 I love building those dam 10/22's
  11. Simple fix, Renewal of Hunter Ed card with background check at age 18. Yes you can be a felon after that but a felon can forge the documents anyway. Again going back to everything being done doesnt benifit the law abiding people. because criminals do not care.
  12. Dont get any waterfowler started on the nice permafrost going in only to find muck on the way out. nothing like hauling a cart in 3/4 mile in the am in 20 minutes and 1 hour out. I feel for ya though
  13. Justin; I honestly think the NRA and many groups can get behind it. The NRA preaches gun safety as much as gun rights that does both. Enforcement, Man we have so many laws on the books it is the COURTS that need ot enforce the laws and stop plea bargining deals and sentences down.
  14. Phil if you see him KICK HIM where it hurts most, he seems to forget to send reports to me lately lol
  15. Shhh JD dont tell anyone the Mag caps on them they will cry lol. Those are in 40cal and had to adjust the backstrap for my wife to dang near the 1911 size but now she is wanting to go blow off a few hundred rounds... my poor gun safe's
  16. And in honor of our great Nation my wife and I went shopping tonight for matching XDM's his and hers. A family that shoots together stays together
  17. Not sure what you missed early in my posting Justin, that will insure that the person is Checked and Taught firearms safety. Dont need to close the loopholes or anything else after that. Example; Buyer wants to buy is buddies gun, Show Picture ID and either of the two documents hunter ed or cc and you have verified.
  18. Gaddies are so underrated for color, the second pic second from left is a nice looking bird, glad you got into them, chaulked up 14 more this morning but just got in and the ponds are all thawing out so looks like a bust for my hole until next wendesday.
  19. And except for the last one ( it may actually be legal as well in cewrtain states i havent looked ) I can own with the proper licensing/ permits.
  20. I'll give you a logical reason for one! I want a few I am a legal gun owner I have never committed a crime that would bar me from owning a gun and i like shooting in timed contest where the High Caps aid in my time the compititions ae based on accuracy and speed. There is no reason I as a law abiding person should be penalized for the actions of the criminals or criminaly insane. Justin that is an arguement I cannot argue with, I have high caps yes but havent put a shell in them in years as when i use the evil black guns for hunting or target shooting i use lower capacity mags as the 30 rnd mags suck for bench resting. But I cannot and nor should our goverment tell law abiding people they cant have something because a criminal might use it. Its like saying the goverment should mandate a law all cars must have a breathilizer in them because some people drink and drive and kill people.
  21. Quill the three guns used in Aurora were, GLOCK22 PISTOL, MP15 That only got 30 rnds of its 100 round drum out and a 870 Tactical shotgun. I disagree with you on the purpose, I strongly beleive the purpose is to slowly disarm people, it is no secret what many of the politicians behind these gun laws have said in the past and that is pretty much a complete ban on guns. Look up some of the quotes by these politicians People keep using "ASSAULT RIFLE" as the term of what needs to be banned. These are purely on looks of a weapon. A look is bad? really since when? My last build was a 6.5 grendel as mentioned before this is becoming one of the most popular hunting rilfes, The 6.5 round has some serious whoopass at even 800yards I have dropped a deer stone dead at 753yrds with it it is by no means a wounding or crippling round. The popularity of the AR Platform is the many things you can do with it. and its reliability. Do sportsmen need 30 round magz? No as they are illegal for hunting, but they are used in compitition shoots ( a legal use of the gun ) I dont go out and blast off 30 rounds for the sake of doing it but i know some people who do, ( wish i could afford to run trough a case that fast ). Banning any weapon is kneejerk, this is pure politics, Why is it not National news when someone goes out and drinks and then drives and kills 7 people in an accident? We have so many gun laws now more laws will not help. Look at these criminals and tell me what law would have prevented it? Short of a complete ban on all guns which wont happen what new law could be added? Now I have always said I would like to see people buying guns for the first time to have to take a Concealed Carry Class or Hunter Education Class, but that is more of a safety issue so they at least have training in firearms for everyone. After you get it when you go to buy a new gun you have to show proof of one of those two certifications. BUT THAT WOULDNT HAVE STOPPED any of these shootings. I have said I support closing the gunshow loophole as its simple enough to have a Leo at them and have them do the same check you would get in a gun store. BUT THAT WOULDNT HAVE STOPPED any of these shootings People say they want mentally ill not to be able to get guns, But how are we going to do that, who will decide who is mentally ill and then what do we do with these people, lock them up in a looney bin? After all if they are to dangerous to own a gun it would stand to reason they are to dangerous to be in society, can you see where that will go? Politicians dont think things through one bit problem with lots of people including the NRA who I support because they are the ones voicing for protection of the right to bear arms even if i dont always agree with them. I have said it before but We will continue to have mass-murders there are just sick people out there and they will act with some way to kill people. I in my heart think the Media makes it 100 times worse by publishing the Highscore list and making these sick people out to be heros and famous to other sick people which fuels the fire in other sicko's. I also think Americans need to understand there are sick people and they will do horrible things and stop blaming whatever weapon or tool they use. I hate to say it but if we see someone drive and kill people most of us shrug it off anymore, it barely is news.
  22. Ok Now in the nicest way possible. Why should I not be able to use my 338 for hunting I have for years and years or a 308 those are both HIGH CAL RIFLES you say your fine with banning. the 6.5 grendal is quickly becoming one of the most used hunting caliburs and its build and designed for the AR Platform. Your arguement holds no water as the ban is on a " look" of a weapon. Not many sportsmen would ever call a 10/22 an "assault rifle" but do a search on many of the build projects and if you didnt know it was a 10/22 you would think AR-15. It is the look people are banning. READ THE ARTICLE ABOVE. These guns are not assault rifles, they look like them and thats it. Another law restricting our RIGHT because of criminals and insane people is not needed, they will find another way.
  23. If thats the conspiracy video where he says there is only 1 ambulance at scene then at the 20 minute mark of the video I can see atleast 9
  24. Quill ill step back for a second and say this. I am far more afraid of a Person with a auto-shoty with an extended tube and 00 buckshot than I am a guy with an AR. In close quarters that shotty will due far more.
