  1. Coach he was being a complete butt simple as that. I see it a lot with Kayaks becoming more popular in fishing now. But I have to wonder if he hasn't had a few yakers cause him issues also. I will say this if your in a club to fish tournaments you might want to bring it to the attention on your members that when they see bass boats working the shore or anyone for that matter, running the shore toward them and pulling out or paddling over at the last minute is only going to increase the conflicts and a 20+ foot bass boat will win that conflict every time, I am seeing that almost every weekend now from Yaks. I had one come paddling right between my crappie markers a few days ago no call for it at all and I can promise you it pissed me off and I wont forget that rudeness.
  2. Nice striper.
  3. Jason, you do understand stripers go great in a cocktail don't you? 1cup brandy 1/2 cup hot sauce ( your favorite brand ) 1 cup ketchup 1/2 cup mayo 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup cream cheese 1/4 cup cilantro 1/4 cup chives 1/4 cup fresh onion diced. Blend on high for 3 minutes and add in striper blend in 2 minutes more, I preffer BBQ striper with Hickory chips for a smokey flavor added. Put in cups and cool for 2 hours.
  4. Thanks Ness, only problem is I am in a lot of trouble with my wife, she never has had bourbon sauces and has accused me of holding out on her ( never thought I would hear a woman say that ). I love making sauces but the heart attack kept me clear of anything alcohol related. I use to spend hours in the kitchen experimenting with different liquors to make sauces and BBQ mixes and finally the doc said go for it again. If you like sauces this one is one of my favorites. 1 cup Brandy 1 cup Cognac 1/2 cup Maple Syrup 1/2 cup Butter 1/2 cup Molasses 1/4 tablespoon Taragon 1/4 cup Poppy seed 1/4 cup sesame seed 1/4 cup cracked black pepper Bring to a boil for 5 minutes stirring the entire time, reduce to simmer for 10 minutes then add 1/2 Cup cream cheese and cook for 5 minutes stirring then poor on meat. Goes great with any red meat. I also will use this in a crock pot for 10 hours on low with roast or goose.
  5. LMAO, You could have been there but oh no you had other plans lol. That and I think your crying because you missed out on the Bourbon Steak I made the other night
  6. Your just jealous, and I kept 4 its all Jammi and I need.
  7. Yesterday was fantastic 60 crappie of which several volunteered to come home. Bait was simple Flicker shad #5's only way to get them was trolling and picking up the suspended fish in 5 to 9fow. But this is the results. Baked Crappie; Preheat oven to 350. Place crappie on well buttered aluminum foil in pan. Place Pineapple slices on Crappie and cook for 15 minutes. Sauce; ½ cup Makers 46 Bourbon 2 tbl spoon Butter ( real butter ) ¼ cup Sugar 1/8th teaspoon pure vanilla ¼ cup Pineapple juice 1/8 teaspoon Orange Peel 1/8 teaspoon lemon peel 1/8th teaspoon ground cinnamon. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes continuously stirring. Then reduce to simmer for 10 minutes turn off heat and let stand till crappie come out and then pour sauce on them.
  8. Castnet... only thing you will get in a box is maybe craw's
  9. What CR said, I will add, if you are in the back of prairie creek you will want to familiarize yourself with the area there are several large concrete blocks back there and other net eating obstacles. Avoca is ok until you get to the very back and then there is a few stick-ups. Coose is clean. Monte Ne is also a good place to get bait but there is some tires that will grab a net and the remains of chicken coops.
  10. Way to go Chris Natures Grocery store at its finest.
  11. Just be careful, 20mph wind at Rocky Branch or the North Island at Prairie Creek can be dangerous in high winds. The river arms should be fine.
  12. Typical day on Beaver lol. Could create some great point mudlines and keep smaller craft in coves or home.
  13. Its more of a pond than a lake, I checked it out about 5 years ago and thought to myself if I had the call of nature I could make a bigger lake.
  14. Aint the first time someone has hilljacked a thread on here and by far not the worse one lol. I know many of the waters you are talking about. When your fishing for Stripers in Beaver go after them like you would Hour Jacks off Daytona. in spring they act and school like the jacks just not as much abuse to your arm.
  15. Lucky; where were you playing in the salt at?
  16. YES that stupid lightning crap is keeping me off the water!!!!!!
  17. Ask away and welcome back, you will find this group is more than willing to share info and that sure makes catching fish in a tough lake much more simple. You are hitting it perfect for Crappie, they really are turning on.
  18. Look to the banks early 3 to 8 fow. if the sun is out by 9 start looking in 12 to 17 fow and by noon look to 20fow. they will be on flats or the midsection of long points typically this time of year. If you have the time to look for shad ( threadfin ) you will be rewarded, the die-off this year will concentrate the eyes around them. I know they are moving back down lake and can be anywhere finding the shad will be a key.
  19. Fish Beaver like you would for Saltwater fish and you will catch tons, it actually fishes like the ocean in many aspects.
  20. Prairie an Indian creeks and some try Monte Ne. Prairie has had a nice run the last couple years, actually seen them up behind the nursery.
  21. River should still have some whites, but I will be betting many are moving back to the lake. This weekend I would be looking from Horseshoe Bend to Coppermine. If you are a crappie addict that zone would be the 100% no doubt about it area to be.
  22. Spring turnover never seems to bother me much, but the fall turnover really can screw things up for a couple weeks. Spring Algae bloom seems to be more of an issue though.
  23. Oh man for Bank attacking its sweet... I use the 11'6'' lews and stick them all sideway and cruise the bank, its deadly.
  24. Jon, I have been noticing a larger number of larger walleye and crappie coming out of Beaver the last few years, are you seeing the same thing in your shocking surveys?
  25. Trophy that should work fine.... Beware its addicting though, I can run the spider off the front, two planers on the midsection, down riggers behind them and then two trolled rigs from console side and a fly out the back 11 total rods out SHUT UP DOC AND JOE you both still carry more than me in the boat. It is a ton of fun and your head has to be on a swivel running that many but dam its more fun than should be legal.
