Thanks Ness, only problem is I am in a lot of trouble with my wife, she never has had bourbon sauces and has accused me of holding out on her ( never thought I would hear a woman say that ). I love making sauces but the heart attack kept me clear of anything alcohol related. I use to spend hours in the kitchen experimenting with different liquors to make sauces and BBQ mixes and finally the doc said go for it again.
If you like sauces this one is one of my favorites.
1 cup Brandy
1 cup Cognac
1/2 cup Maple Syrup
1/2 cup Butter
1/2 cup Molasses
1/4 tablespoon Taragon
1/4 cup Poppy seed
1/4 cup sesame seed
1/4 cup cracked black pepper
Bring to a boil for 5 minutes stirring the entire time, reduce to simmer for 10 minutes then add 1/2 Cup cream cheese and cook for 5 minutes stirring then poor on meat. Goes great with any red meat. I also will use this in a crock pot for 10 hours on low with roast or goose.
