Had some time this afternoon to put together a short video of some of my experience with the Ned Friday, ya'll can get a good idea how i'm working it, and i'm curious to see how you guys do different. It was unreal an hour before dark how well it worked. I"ll try to get it posted tonight, have to wait for my "free zone"...Dang Satelite internet...lol Rick, yeah those are for sure pricy, but probably good quality. Dave, Ham and I are gonna hook up again soon, and he said he was gonna let me try one of your hooks! I"ll post the video right here when I get it downloaded..

I just recently had my first experience with the Ned on the River, highly impressed with my results!! I got some of the ZMan Shroom heads to start with, that welded piece on there works pretty good. I had as good of luck as any with these right here.. http://ejigs.com/Files/Product/Bass_1071/Weedless_Grub__Worm_Heads_(5-pack)_4634.asp I got them because they had the weed guard, pricy bout like the Zman Shroom tho.

A diagnosis of work more fish less is not an option is it....lol At least you can fish enough to aggrevate injury, not a problem for me usually, I did get some bass thumb the other day tho! I deal with my back more and more from work related stuff, but when I stand and fish all day, it does get a catch in it now. I used to think I couldlift anything, Dad said i'd pay for that, he was right...

Back In The Water With The Ned Rig
LittleRedFisherman replied to dtrs5kprs's topic in Table Rock Lake
My schedule is fairly open till end of Feburary when i'll be a lot busier on the farm, you get the itch to come this way sometime holler! The EP and Current are about an hour from me, I love um to death! -
I have had a couple g series for 2 years now, but bought the Curado I when it came out last year, have to say love it, it's the smoothest reel I've ever had. This is also the highest price point I've ever purchased, but so far love it, IMO a big improvement over the G for sure. I have a lower end Lews reel as well, and love it to, can't imagine how good the step up is from it!

Back In The Water With The Ned Rig
LittleRedFisherman replied to dtrs5kprs's topic in Table Rock Lake
No basically just throwing it towards the bank and letting it swing a few times when anchored, other times I had the boat on drift with trolling moter and drifting boat with the bait, either way worked. Basically fished it similar to how I would a senko, except slower and more methodical.. -
Back In The Water With The Ned Rig
LittleRedFisherman replied to dtrs5kprs's topic in Table Rock Lake
I just reviewed some footage tonight from some filming I did yesterday, at one point I had 11 hookups on 18 casts, I just had to count to see. I had a lot better hookup when I did a light twitch as it drifted. After watching that , I actually underestimated how good I did with it. My partner wasn't using one at first, but he quickly got in my Ned stash....lol.. -

Had the chance finally to get out a couple times the past 2 weeks. Took a friend out yesterday that had never been winter bassing before, think he had a good time as did I. Anybody else been out lately?

I joined online, and get the newletter in emails, that is probably your best bet Griz.. I wanted to come as well but couldn't, Mitch knows his stuff and is a class act!

Floor Mats In Your Trout Boat?
LittleRedFisherman replied to mhowerton's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Great idea there Rick!! -
I heard you on the wind, but still a great day sounds like! Looking forward to the 28th! Sweet on trying out the prototype, hope you have it by the time we go fishing!

Great report as usual! That boat ramp pic is worth a thousand words right there! I was at a farm sale that day and froze to death! On the zig jig colors, you might as well add another on to 4 colors, I've gotta have some White in the arsenal. Oh yeah, and don't forget pink and white...lol

For me Jason, it's a lot about peace of mind! I love my jet, and I got it as much for here at home ( on slower meandering delta rivers) as much as the Ozark ones. Even in Little Red in some of the deeper secions like Lobo, if the water runs slow or meanders along like here on the St. Francis and Black rivers, an obstruction 6 inches below the surface doesn't make that traditional swirl like you see on Current and EP, you can hit those and not even know there there, which I've done several times with my old prop boat, really for me it's about safety. I scanned through the threads Wrench posted above and a copule eluded to boat control. After a bit of a quick learning curve for me, I have no problems steering my boat, or loading it on a trailer. For me, I wouldn't ever go back. Like I said earlier, 2 unit water on the Little Red at Lobo can sometimes play with a jet with all the trash, but that's worth the hassle for me. It sounds like, you are like me, your boat will be for only fishing, I think you'd love a jet on the Little Red!

Don't think I ever posted the final product to a limblining outing I did back in October. No rod and reel stuff tho, this is somewhat of a dying "tradition" if you will here where I live. People still do it, but nothing like when I was a kid here on the St. Francis. Thought i'd post a link to the show that I sent the footage to, and work with a little bit as a hobby. If you have cabin fever in this frigid weather we are having, hope you enjoy it! Bret.

Great read on your blog, really enjoyed it. I've been wanting to try a float in my Coosa in that river, looks like a good time!

Glad you was able to make it back to the ramp, when you first called I thought you might still be on the river. I bet, it's a safe to bet, that you were the only one on the water out there. Yes, I hope to get with you again soon. Don't wanna be a stranger, we have to much fun while fishing! Yeah, it felt good to get bit. My first two casts ever with a Ned were rather successful, impressed so far! It's a farm pond, but still impressive considering the temperature of the water today! Itching to head to the River again!

Had some business to tend to today, but just in case I had time to try out my two new spinning rods, I threw them in the truck! As luck would have it, I got my stuff done and ran down to a friend of mine's place. I didn't take the temp, but i'd say the water temp was in the mid 30's. I'm trying out Nanofil for the first time, and getting used to the idea of tying leaders more. I tried my new Rage rod first which had a Ned tied on, caught the first fish there on the first cast! It was a slow bite, just felt weight and set the hook, between the Nano and the new rod, I could feel it breathe nearly. Made another cast, this time a little harder bite, set the hook and broke off at the knot.. Ham, I may need another alberto lesson..lol. I think it was the 6 pound I tied on was the problem, I got to aggressive setting the hook. The St Croix rage rod is very fast action, and it seems it very very fast to me, verdict still out on that for me, but it was very sensitive. I went to my Fenwick rod I found online at a deal, and caught another one on a Jennybug 3 inch grub. That was it after that, got nothing on the jerkbait, only fished about 20 minutes as the rain started pouring down. Felt good to make a few casts, hope to be on a river next week! Bret

Very inspirational Laker, keep persevering!! My goals are to have as much fun as possible when I do get to go fishing, fishing more with my Dad would be a good one to, we work together on the farm, but fish less than we used to, that will change soon hopefully, bout got him talked into going with me to the White one day this winter if it's warm enough he says.. I think my main goal, is to fish more with my son who turned 6 last month. We fish in a local pond here, where he can catch um fast, but would like to expand on that this year! I'm with Andy on the PB smallmouth! A 21.5 incher was caught in the waters I fish this fall, I think there's one in there with my name on it!! Good luck to all this new year, whatever be your goals..

I was there last weekend and they haven't been generating much at all. This cold snap might change that? The lake is pretty low I heard
