  1. How long are they going to be releasing that 2900 cfm? That would be close to the same as 1 unit?
  2. It would be awesome if it was found for sure, I think i'm with Ham on this but, I've been in the Cache bottoms before, and there's some thick stuff in there, if there's anyplace one could hide, it would be there..
  3. Thanks man!! Yeah, I've got a creek in mind now that you mention it, that can be waded for about a mile, be a good place to take him this summer.. Here, I grew up fishing a ditch called the Mayo Ditch that runs here on the farm, it was full of feisty spotted bass, nowadays you have to go south on it a few miles to find them, it runs to shallow now here to hold fish all year.. Man did I have fun as a kid fishing in it, everytime I cross it, those memories flood back..
  4. Great Advice Chief, we get out on the boat a lot in the summer, just on the lake, but I think he's about ready, and that's good advice, sounds fun for me to!! There's nothing like it, I can't wait for more in the future, I hope he has just half the love fishing I do, and we'll be just fine!! Right now, he loves it!! Have you tried your 110 Jr yet, that thing has been my go to the times I've fished this winter!! I was skeptical of that color I got there, but they seem to love it!!
  5. There's a "spot" over here that supposedly had 42 boats on it Saturday at one time...lol Id say that did lower the level some...
  6. I've seen this stuff all week Ham, it's getting to me to. I'm gonna do something about it this week hopefully!!
  7. Here's some more...yeah he makes me sick to...
  8. My facebook and even some phone texts have been loaded with Crappie pics the past week. Since it rained again, i'm planning on taking off a little early a couple days this week from shop work, and catch some slabs, at a certain place I go.. Top pic is from a cousin in the Bootheel, I think those came from Mississippi. Guy at the bottom is my Cotton Scout who also guides, he actually competes in the crappie fishing circuit, we are suppose to go to Reelfoot soon! Anyhow, anybody else getting on some slabs?
  9. I agree 100 percent on confidence, there's just something about it. If your confident in the what your using, I think (at least for me) your senses are more turned in, or more sensitive to the bite.
  10. Nothing really exciting here, but had a great time with my boy this afternoon. Went to a neighbors place that lets me sample his bass populations.. My boy really had a great time, he even caught a couple dandy bluegills I didn't get a pic of for some reason. I wanted to bad to go to a spot on Current River that should be good for smallies, but my son and I were baching this weekend as the wife was at a youth retreat with the kids at Church. I just not ready to take him to the river yet with all the dangers, plus his attention span, but he did great today, he's growing up as bad as I hate to see it. He's got the knack, he caught 2 all by himself with a small jig. Jerkbaits were working for me today, they were hammering it, so I never tried anything else, caught about a dozen!!
  11. That was a dandy Phil, I remember that video, it was caught 2 days before my wife and I came up to Branson for our anniversary, we fished everymorning and took in the sights in the afternoon! I was pumped to fish after seeing that one!! Also, that blows my zig jig fish vid out of the water.... On a side not, my wife and I fished those PJ jigs all weekend that time, and did great!
  12. Great report and photos!! Terrierman, I saw you in there, looks like fun. That pic of Oneshot up there that had the guy filming I think is from Ozark Traditions TV that was there that day, here's a video they just posted and I guess aired on TV somewhere. Give a look, some of of you guys might of been on TV.. Next year I may have to run up there, just looks like an unique experience, thanks for posting!
  13. I think you have a point as well.. I do find a lot of these shows interesting, including this one, although I know this show is not reality.
  14. Jeff, you bet, he's well known around Kennett. In fact, my Dad used to date his daughter way back before he met my Mom..lol. I think he's still farming some if i'm not mistaken, he and Dad a still really liked each other after all those years, seems like a nice old fellow, successful farmer to!
  15. Ok, just had to, this was down on the White River forum, but heres a Zig Jig Brown, caught by the Designer of the Jigs!! Let me tell ya, Jig fishing with Ham and Richard in your boat, is like a Jig fishing Clinic!! This was a great day! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IlM3qLCMOQ
  16. The world keeps getting Smaller, some of those photos I just showed were taken at Senath. That's were my grandparents were from originally, they moved here on this Arkansas farm in the 40's.. I know the picture of my grandfather with the hogs was taken at Senath...
  17. Ha ha, yep i'm a flatlander that loves the Ozarks!! I'm so thankful i'm a 45 minute drive from good Ozark Smallie fishing tho!!
  18. Yes sir, don't know him, but have heard the name.. I think during the drought here a couple years ago, hay was hard to come by, and I heard his name mentioned a time or two from folks on Crowleys Ridge where the cattle are around here. It's a small world, on the trout trip this winter, I think it was Quillback that has family in Kennett!
  19. Buffalo ribs are awesome! I used to help a neighbor of mine commercial fish when I was a teenager, he'd catch 100's of pounds of buffalo at a time in the St. Francis. The best was what we call the Razorback buffalo, not sure the real name, but it had the small hump on it. When he'd fish for himself, he'd keep those and throw the other buffalo back in the water. We'd have big fish frys with flathead and buffalo ribs, and those ribs held up to the flathead for me! Think I just made myself hungry....
  20. I throw together some videos from time to time, mostly farming and fishing, but this one is family. Since my grandparents passed away back in 07, I have all there old pictures and i'm putting them to digital to save them. I came up with this one night, the first pic is my Great grandfather that a never met, then it works up the tree from there. Since my family has a farm history, I thought this clip from Paul Harvey (who always supported what we do) would work for this.. Thought I'd share it here for some reason, guess it lets you know what my roots are.. The last picture is my favorite I think, I remember those days like yesterday, my Grandfather at the head of the table, probably a Sunday dinner. I ate many a meal there, as they lived just next door to us when I was growing up. My grandmother was wise, and my grandfather was one of the kindest souls I ever knew, I miss them dearly. Old pictures are more priceless as we get older, I'm saving many of these and going to put the file in a lockbox. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGO4Ypano6g&list=UUEY8yxNQ5jhYWSk_R15fcuw
  21. Not really that I can tell, they basically instead of falling straight down after you jig them, they dart in a different direction every time it seems, just a little more life to it. Nothing drastic, but a little added action.. Ham should chime in on this, he has a lot more experience with them..
  22. Here ya go fellas, dug these out of my tackle box. The white one is a PJ, and the Olive is a Zig jig. There's actually more difference than I thought when I compared the two, never really done that before. The zig jig comes to a point at the top as compared to the asperin head of the PJ. Also you might notice there more wrapping on the zig jig as well. As far as the marabou there both about the same the best I can tell. The third picture shows the lopsided head pretty good.
  23. Both are very good quality jigs. I've played around with them before and you can see the bit of extra action you get with the lopsided head with the zig jig. That mustad hook may be the best thing about them! If you hang a fish of a lifetime, that hook can hold on to it!
  24. Great day In my book to!! Another great thing bout rivers, just a couple warm days makes a world of difference!!
