  1. We just got back in this afternoon. We had several hits on the same color as yesterday and also had several bites on brown/orange. For some reason they seemed to hit them short. We missed them completely or got them almost to the boat and they would spit it back at us. The wind definitely helped and I almost cut the skirt down but decided not to since we were catching them on power bait too.
  2. The only color we had success with was orange head with what I would call olive/beige body. I tried the brown/orange first and got nothing. This morning we caught them on power bait again but there was absolutely no wind. We plan on trying to finish our limit this afternoon and we'll see if the wind helps. One thing we did notice was the average size fish was definitely larger on the jigs.
  3. Thanks again for the advice and getting us lined out with the floats and jigs. After getting nothing all morning, we limited in the afternoon. Only two were caught on power bait all day. We will probably buy a few more jigs before we leave on Monday
  4. Now that it's been a few weeks, has the crud been washed out of the entire lake? Has there been any noticeable affect on the fishing? Inquiring minds want to know. I'll be down in October.
  5. I've used power bait that was at least 3 years old. Works the same to me.
  6. I've tried that but I can't get the nightcrawlers to eat the marshmallows
  7. Thanks Phil! I'll probably check back in about 2 weeks to see if there is any special bait that is working great. We hope to be down there on the 26th.
  8. I have fished Tanycomo since the late '80's (at least once per year) but have not been there for the last 2 or 3 years. We fish from a boat and have always caught mostly rainbows by simply drifting/trolling while bouncing bait off the bottom. The first several years we needed nothing buy salmon eggs. The last few years, the eggs don't seem to work at all and we went to powerbait. Every year seems to have a different "hot" color. While I would love to fly fish in the trophy area it won't be possible because my wife wouldn't be interested and I have to keep her happy We plan on coming down for about 3 or 4 days at the end of October. Anyone have any suggestions on a particular bait or powerbait color? Any and all help is appreciated!!
