  1. I agree with Champ on that one. I use the 6'10" cara in 5 power instead of 6. That allows me to use 10 pound fluoro and still not snap the line like I would with a faster tipped rod...
  2. Well said Bill B., that's what all of us strive for. ONE MORE BITE...
  3. Thanks Champ for the help.
  4. Thank you all for the help. I'll keep at it searching for someone, maybe I can luck out!
  5. Hey all, I signed up as a non boater for the bfl on table rock and already got put on the waiting list. I was wondering if there were any of you guys fishing it and would like to add me as a co anglers to guarantee us an open spot and maybe do some pre fishing. I'm new to Missouri, not knowing anyone around here except here on this forum, and even then, not personally, but any help would be appreciated.
  6. I had my wife fish a small punisher jig under a slip float Sunday and actually had some luck with it. Lately I've noticed some small shad swimming up to the surface early in the morning and have been catching some on a jerkbait, but she doesn't like to fish fast. So I rigged it up about 9 feet from the float and on her first cast, she caught a keeper largemouth. I don't have any experience fishing that way, but after watching her catch a few spots and largemouths, I was impressed at how well it actually worked. Also caught some really nice spots suspended on dock cables with a football jig. I noticed once I got on the cable, I could lower it and bring it back up and the just crush it.
  7. Thanks for the info Bill...
  8. Has this crappie pattern been duplicated on different areas of the lake, or just mainly in one or two river or creek arms? Thanks for all the advice.
  9. Jerkbaits really suspend better when the water is at least 44 degrees. Through it on mono line and it will catch a fish.
  10. Hey all, I'm new to sw Missouri, and I was wondering how to get to the old state park ramp. Any help would be appreciated.
  11. In my opinion, loz isn't really a flipping type of lake. Flipping technique to me is more power, tight quarters fishing with heavy tackle and heavy lines fishing in heavy cover. That's just my thoughts, regardless of what I say, falcon rods are a great choice. I'd go with the heavy cover jig rod...
  12. I broke a guide on one of my falcon rods, one with micro guides. I live in Monett, and looking for a place that I can take it to and have it repaired. If anyone knows of a reputable shop between Monett and Springfield and can help me out, that would be well appreciated.
  13. I built ranger boats for seven years. Give them a call and they can fix you up...
  14. Pro blue, Tennessee shad, elegy bone, skeleton Tenn. Shad, the list goes on and on. They are fish catchers and I believe my wife got me some under the tree!
  15. Mossy craw is the color. I looked it up on tackle warehouse.
  16. I have done very well with the madflash series. I'm not sure of the color name, but its a rusty brown color. Maybe phantom brown?? But I've done well on it recently.
  17. I've been catching a lot of good fish shallow cranking covering a lot of water. No rhyme or reason to it, caught em good saturday and not so good sunday, but when they are there, they will bite. Pulled out on long points with c-rig and football jig sunday and ended up saving my day catching them. I do know that if the shad is in the back of creeks or pockets, those bass with definately be there too, they're hit and miss from day to day...
  18. Good to hear of some fish being caught! I caught some fish super early Sunday morning on a wiggle wart shallow about 8 ft., including 5 keeper spots, but it was all over once the sun came up.
  19. Very nice deer snakem!
  20. Bored of deer hunting, I fished from the bank at big m while my wife walked around the park. After Champ and Donna waved and idled out of the marina, I dragged a c rig and football jig around and ended up catching 4 keepers, all spots, lots of small fish but no largemouths around. As Champ said, seems like all the shad are staying out deep and yet to move shallow.
  21. Sportsmens warehouse in Springfield carries them.
  22. I would love to fish and give a small donation if a boater needs someone to fish with. I will split the costs if anyone is interested.
  23. Fins and feathers has them in Springfield.
  24. Yeah ozark gunner it was over for me at 8:15
  25. Caught some as shallow as 10 feet, but the majority I caught this morning was sitting in a little channel 22 feet average depth suspended in the channel or under the docks, just depended where the shad were. The fish did move a lot with the bait. The flutter spoon worked well for me today, especially on those suspended fish because I could get em to bite it falling down through them.
