I would like to take my daughters boyfriend fishing on the James River next week. Where can we get access and wade using a flyrod? If anyone has a honey hole they could share with me.........

It looks good Phil! I only glanced through it, but here is what I found. On the fly tying page, there is a typo. "Synthedics" No photo of the "Beaded Sculpin-Olive" And this may be just nit picking but, at the top of the page you have the phone numbers. For "International" callers you have the area code and phone #, what about the country code? Which would be 00-1-417-334-6380

A Marine Corps friend of mine set me up with a pheasant hunt in Baxter Springs KS at "Show Me Birds Hunting Resort" and all I can say is WOW. Thanks Art! That place is 100% class all the way. From the second you walk into the clubhouse and are greeted to your getting in your car and leaving. The staff was great, lunch was great and I got to meet a lot of people and share hunting stories. I went with my cousin in law, Pete. He has never hunted upland game until Sunday, so I was a little nervous about him maybe swinging the shotgun around to follow a bird and end up pulling a Cheney! But there were no problems at all. The first bird popped up less then 10 mins into the hunt, I didnt have a shot at it but Pete did, but he forgot to take his saftey off. So that bird got away. Over the next hour, I was 5 shots 5 birds! Pete was roughly 20 shots 2 birds. Towards the end of the hunt, a bird popped up and Pete shot once and missed. About 5 mins later another one popped up in his direction, well he forgot to chamber a round from the last shot, so he pulled the trigger and of course nothing happened, the guide and myself then hear the gun cocking and then the shot. The guide says "Bet ya forgot to put one in the chamber after the last one huh?" So now Petes new nickname is "CLICK" Wait, it gets even better. We are just about to the truck and end the hunt when the dogs go on point. There is a rooster hiding in some trees. I drop down into a dry creek bed and the bird starts getting nervous, i stop and wait for Pete to get into position. The only way I will have a shot is if the bird jumps straight up in the air, which he does, I shot and missed, but it was flying towards Pete. First shot is a miss, then all we hear is him cocking the shotgun yelling "stupid &^%$#%$()(* !!" Yep, he forgot to reload!! We had a great time and are already planning another hunt in October. His birthday is a week from mine. So anyone else that wants to join us, it would be a blast. check them out at www.showmebirds.com the 1st picture is 2 of the 4 dogs working a field 2nd picture is the guide bashing through the trees looking for a bird 3rd is Pete and Jerry(guide) walking the fence line, the dogs went on point (you can see Pete pointing a finger at me to get my attention) I ended up shooting that rooster 4th is the bids that were shot during the "European" style hunt they had eariler.

Pictures??? My brother and I have a rule...No pictures? There were no fish caught!

I usually use a blood knot for the leader/tippet knot but when it turns cold and my fingers arent so nimble, i use the surgeons knot. I use the cinch knot for nymphs, streamers etc and the non slip mono for my dry flies

The officer said when he comes up to us, have you got any wants or warrents! What the hell does that got to do with fishin! He was the upmost most UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON I HAVE It is common practice for ANY law enforcement officer to ask that question and then verify it though the state and local crime computer (NCIC) You may have been an escaped felon trying to catch dinner. Who knows..it was for the officers protection. YOU were breaking the law...why should the officer extend courtesy to you? You did not extend courtesy to the other law abiding fishermen? Thats my .02

I meant to say outlet # 2 not #1.
-
I got there around 1020 or so. Started off with a scud below outlet 1, i wasnt fishing too hard as I was more interested in gettting some pictures. A gentleman fishing above told me he was using a #26 midge with 8x tippet. He was breaking off a lot, so I tied on an adams and it was pretty productive. I landed about 5 or 6 and missed a ton of rises. Then I moved out into the main chanel and tied on a black bugger. The first cast I had a tremendous strike, broke off the fly and it was tied directly to the leader. Tied on another black bugger and the next 8 casts produced 8 fish on...none landed. not sure what happened there, but then all of a sudden they turned off the bugger. I left the water around 115 and there seemed to be a pretty good hatch going on at that time.

Yes it is a digital SLR. If mama found out I took it to the lake and actually had it with me in the water....my "manhood" would be hanging on a fence by some fishing line.

how much are you wanting or willing to spend? that is probably a big factor in the decision.

I am getting a couple of show tickets for Dick Clark's American Bandstand Theater and passes to '57 Heaven for the auction. I would love to enter a team as well, maybe I can get the boss to foot the bill? John

I got to fish yesterday for a couple of hours and walking around the area I noticed that our fishing grounds are a MESS. When do we want to schedule the cleanup for this year? Count me in

Wolves Escape from Local Animal Attraction Additional Audio by Sally Kaucher - February 16, 2007 Authorities in Stone County say a pair of timber wolves escaped last night from Predator World. Predator World owner Breck Wakefield says in a release from the sheriff's office that the two wolves will probably avoid human contact, and are likely to stay together while on the loose. One wolf is an adult silver-gray female, about 130 pounds and pregnant. The other is a dark chocolate adult male, weighing around 100 pounds. Wakefield believes the animals are probably still in the immediate area of Predator World, near DD Highway and Highway 13. Anyone sighting the wolves should contact the sheriff's office or Predator World.

Check your peanut butter!!!...
tippet7 replied to Terry Beeson's topic in General Angling Discussion Archives
I had a sandwich of 2111 on Wednesday night. My girlfriend tells me I need to throw the peanut butter away. I DO NOT THROW PEANUT BUTTER AWAY. I thought she was just screwing with me because I told her that Dr McDreamy on Greys Anotomy got killed off the show. Then I saw the news report on the recall. DOH!
