  1. They sure didn't put many in compaired to last year. Last year the state did the stocking and I believe the Neosho Hatchery did this stocking
  2. I watched them stock Hickory Creek on Tuesday.
  3. Went to Capps today and caught several and saw several large in the darn area. Only thing wrong with fishing the darn area is SNAKES, SNAKES AND MORE SNAKES..
  4. Great points above but not all fisherman are whats described above Quote " What a great fishery, but the only problem is no fish, and the first thing out of the mouths of other fisherman you run into is "Hatchery Truck". Is it fact that everyone sits on their butt drinking cheap beer, cutting their meth, patiently waiting on the next installment on the cash side of their EBT card to go buy a stockpile of canned corn to chum the newly stocked "bows" on the stream. Then the ever so elusive hatchery truck shows up and the people go in masses, sometimes illegally and deplete the resource, what the ***** is wrong with people" end Quote Some of us enjoy the being in nature, harvesting a few fish and releasing most back. I fished Capps creek today, caught 3 and turned them loose, but I have bought my trout stamp, over 65 so don't need fishing lic and if I wanted to keep some to eat I don't need to be called names and judged. Not a meth head, drinking beer but a law abiding man enjoying being out, if I meet you and can help you I will love too and will not call you names for turning or keeping what you catch. Anyone breaking the laws around me will be turned in.
  5. Tim do they stock Roaring river each night?
  6. Went to Hickory creek this afternoon. The water is up but couldn't fish by the low water bridge for swimmers. Went up on the North end and tried for a while. The creek was stocked 10 days or so ago.
  7. Quite a few people there. Saw one young man fishing with chubs catch about a 4 lb bass at the dam. The trout have moved up in the dam area. I caught two and watched others. Came home and it was a nice day to be out. PS turned my two lose.
  8. Think I will check the water at Capps Creek. Its a good day to enjoy the outdoors.
  9. No it wasn't me. I haven't been to capps in several days. I'm handicapped and usually fish next to the dam. I'm the old man setting in a camo chair with a big smile. :-) I'm alone when I fish. Any time you see me please stop and visit. I can always learn something from anyone.
  10. Bill you have some good points but just because I like to have two fish meals in the freezer and turn everything else loose doesn't make me a baitbucket brigade with a redneck mentality. The same way with my stocking the freezer with deer meat. We don't eat beef but only deer, fish and chicken. Kind or remind me of a article I saw somewhere on the net. Don't kill deer but go to the market and buy meat that hasn't been killed. Should I go to the market and buy my fish I love to eat. Please this isn't a flame but some do love to eat what God has placed for us.
  11. I was at Capps yesterday and saw two trout while walking from the dam to the wooden bridge and standing on the bridge 30 minutes. I was told they had stocked on the 4th of March. The same person told me he had seen a man with a casting net below the dam talking two huge browns out. I would have turned him in.
  12. I did catch two and went back today and didn't have a bite.
  13. Fish were far between. I don't believe they have stocked it yet. About 7:45 probably 20 were fishing south of the low water bridge.
  14. I fished Capps yesterday for two hours and not one bite. Its been that way for three weeks, like all the fish have been removed. I have been fishing Capps for a year and always had a few bites until three weeks ago. This was my sixth trip in three weeks with no bite.
  15. When I bass fished on Tablerock in the late winter and early spring I had a wiggle wart on one rod and a double deep we R on another rod. Between the two crankbaits I could find a pattern to catch a limit. Some times I would follow one or the other to the same spot and catch bass on the second case.
  16. You can also bend the wire the blade is on down so the blade hits the wire the hook is on. Makes a real loud click as the bait moves through the water.
  17. I fish there quite a bit during the spring but when it gets hot, its a favorite swimming hole. I'm learning during the catch and release period to fish flys and such.
  18. I paid the $50 for a year and consider it a cheap. It takes money to keep the park up. Not having any luck lately but its only 10 miles from the house and a very nice place to go.
  19. I have fished it 4 times in the last week and not caught anything. Nothing not even a bite, using powerball eggs, San Juan worms, glow balls,
  20. As I said I'm learning. I did fish Roaring River a couple times last year and plan on fishing more there this year. I'm planning on a trip to Rockaway Beach this year. I have put a bass boat in at Rockaway beach many years ago fishing for bass and had good luck. I will fish from the bank where ever I fish. I'm also 72.
  21. My name is Tommy Davis and lived at Cassville Mo for ten years. At that time I was into bass fishing and really miss it but due to age and other things I have started to learn trout fishing. I moved to Neosho several years ago but Cassville is still home. Last year was the first at trout fishing and I enjoyed it. I'm ready to learn.
  22. You got to teach me Tim. Last year was the first year of trout fishing for me.
