Don't throw away nylon webbing, you never know what you can make out of it. Girlfriend Canoe Lounge can't wait to get the rack on the truck and go.

I do believe it is pretty seasonal there. As I understand the hybrids would be easier to find and catch this time of year and in the comming few weeks up in Truman in the dam area and the points within a couple miles of the dam. I do not speek from experience.....just what I have heard. I think the tailrace hybrids are over for this spring.

I found a spare prop to go with it. I am willing to reduce the price to 150.00. The motor has been removed from my boat and is ready to go.
-
Going to have it off the boat soon. The new one has arrived, but the weather is not cooperating. I have a box to ship it in now. Buyer pays shipping.

Just got word my new motor is shipping tomorrow. I guess this weekend will be the last time I use this motor and the last chance someone will get a chance to try it out before I replace it. I will be in Kirksville at Thousand Hills Lake all weekend camping if you want to see it in action.

Used to have a liquer store near by that gave a bag of ice with every purchace. I bought things there because of this. They had a big ice maker that made more than they could ever sell so it made good sence for them.

Drinking And Boating Don't Mix.
MoSportsmen replied to Clayton Will's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
I am with Goggle -eyed, Looks like they are making a little shake down cruze to me, testing a new prop or some such. Kinda doubt the driver is "drunk". More likely drunk with his speed boat, enjoying the boats' capabilities......it is a ski boat after all. I wouldn't be afraid or even miffed inless he was doing it inside the no wake zone my boat was moored in. -
The town I live in seems to have a great group and do a lot of cool things. Growing up I felt like I was learning more and learning it the way I wanted to on my own so I gave it up before webelo. My best friend earned his eagle.....I am a far more adept oudoorsman than he is. I think a dad could do better for his son and his son's friends than the BSA.

Here are the photos It is a Minnkota All Terrain As I understand the delivery date of my replacement motor is early June. I could let this one go earlier than that but would prefer to get the replacement before I let this one go. The bennifit is you could se it run and pull the boat before you buy it. I am in Macon, MO....water close by.

I am changing to a foot control with a longer shaft and a little more thrust. The motor I am selling is 100 % functional and looks pretty good too, it is about 42 inch shaft 45 pound thrust. I will provide handle extension and big foot control on off button. Hand control bow mount is very fishing friendly. I will get photos on here tomorrow. $175.00 I have ordered my new motor, but the back order is not expecting shipment untill may 27. So I will not be ready to give up this one for a while but is will be available early in June.

Don't know about Muskie in LB seems like it is too often muddy for Muskie. The waleye have done OK in it though in years gone by. Don't know if there has been any recient waleye stockings. Mark Twain used to have some great Walleye seems like they have faded into obscurity there though also.

River Boat Modifications
MoSportsmen replied to bsmith6339's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
I want the same thing, I have used battery powered speakers in the past, velcroed under the dash. Like to have something that would run off boat batery and be permantly mounted. What have you found so far to serve as an amp for the speakers? I have had a cheep car sterio in a boat before. It does not last forever but for the price of a "marine" sterio I figure I can buy four regular car sterios. Problem in my boat is there is not much realestate available on or under the dash. If I could mount an amp underneath and have a 1/8 mini plug for my MP3 player I would be happy. -
I like to see and catch Hybrids. They have stocked a bunch in my local lake Long Branch. They stocked them with the goal of reducing crappie numbers because the crappie were over populated and stunted small. So far it is looking like it is working. The crappie are getting bigger and there are some nice evening swarms of hybrids to chase and catch. We will have to see how this works out in a few years after the hybrids grow to leagle size. I have already heard of guys that used to be able to throw a cast net for bait anywhere near the ramp and catch all the bait they wanted........no longer can thay do that.

Redneck Fishing Tournament Bath Ill
MoSportsmen replied to MoSportsmen's topic in General Angling Discussion
Final numbers came in and the total counted was 10,600. There were probably more than that I know we caught 8 between tournaments that were probably not counted and there were others out that were not registered in the tournaments. Unbelieveable how many of these fish are in our rivers. -
Had a blast this weekend at the 8th annual Bath Ill. Redneck Fishing tournament. In four separate heats the tournament cleaned out almost 8,000 asian carp from one little 7 mile streatch of the Illinois. Wild time. Sad to see all this fish flesh to go to fertilizer but at least these won't be breeding anymore. We need to find a good commercial market for these fish or there is no way we will ever keep them under control. It was quit a time, something to put on your bucket list. Tom

A boat on a trailer is much quicker and easier to get in and out of the water than anything you need to unload and load with gear to get in and out of the water. For fishing I like a boat on a trailer. But I have both in case I need to get into a place that has no boat ramp. I prefer a little V bottom 14 footer over a flat bottom. Had one with a 20 hp on it and I could go about anywhere I wanted to fish from pond to LOZ. A 10 hp would go even more places just not as fast on bigger lakes.

Best Tent For The Money?
MoSportsmen replied to BATCAB27's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Don't need it, just bought a nice dome I can almost stand in. The timberline would have some aplications where I would prefer it though.....like a float camp I have planned in the near future. -
And she thinks we're just fishin'

Bought A New Truck And Need To Sell My Old Truck, Soon...
MoSportsmen replied to a topic in Buy - Sell - Trade
I was in the same boat after I just got a new truck. I took it to an auto auction in Columbia. I thought you had to be a dealer to sell at an auto auction but I was wrong. I did have a connection that helped me know how to give good info that would sell it. I felt like I got a decient price and I had a check that day. -
Best Tent For The Money?

They are a classic. I am sure they been around longer that 20 though. I know my sister has one that has to be over 30 years old.......she probably hasn't used it in that long though, so no testament there. Wish she would just give it to me to see if it still works. -
Baitcaster Reel Questions.
MoSportsmen replied to Daryk Campbell Sr's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
I think one thing that frustrates beginning baitcasters is the whippy rods that are sometimes part of combos. Bait casting works a little better with a stiffer rod with a little back bone. Sharkey's right, palm down handles up. The axis of the spool should be vertical. -
Camo Wrapping A Boat
MoSportsmen replied to wily's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Don't know why it would not last that long. One note though I just have mine on above the water line. If any water got under it for long it would probably fail quick on the hull under the waterline. But the Arkansaw duck hunter is notorious for being tough on things. Once got some advice from an AR duck hunter, he said, "Never buy a used outboard from an AR duck hunter." -
Paddle boat I would not choose for fishing, or anything else unless someone gave me one and I had kids that wanted to play in it. For the price of that bike I would think you could get a Hobie Mirage drive SOT kayak......not there is a hands free fishing boat!
