  1. Aren't those 3 LM in your photo???
  2. Thanks for putting her back in the H2o Dollar Bill, what a beaut! Nothing makes me more sick then seeing folks kill the big ones. I don't have issues with the 15-17 inch being kept if someone wants to but it makes no sense to me that they keep and kill the big ones......just my .02 worth.
  3. Greetings Zarra, hope you are well.  Was it you a year or so back that put some info on here about how to run from twin bridges up to CC?  Seems someone posted the map with actual red lines on it showing the best way to run this section???  I want to explore more of the Big Sac but I would like to know the areas to watch out for.  Hope you catch some TOADS this spring!

I'm still in the "recovery" mode from a back operation 6 weeks ago... Should get surgeon's release next week..

This is what my back look like with my new hardware...Jrback2.JPG

Here are the maps you were asking about.. Basically, when you make the make the turn towards point 9 - stay 3/4 of the way to the left going up stream.. With the lake about normal level you can see the tree line coming across from the right and I would suggest the first time thru that you idle thru the tree line... It is better than when I first went thru 30 years ago..A lot more trees have rotted and broke off...timber22.jpg

If this is not what you need -- let me know and I will scan the areas you need...  Mike

  4. Read some of the posts from this last weekend.
  5. Now that is a TOAD! Congrats, that baby looks like 8#'s or more!
  6. I had the pleasure to fish the Midwest HawgHunters tourney out of Roark on Sunday. What a great bunch of guys if you ever get the chance to fish one of their tourneys, well run operation!!! Needless to say it blew like stink all day, 20+ in the afternoon with bluebird skies. Water temps were 52 to 58 in and around the Sac & Son's area. We ended up with 28 fish but only 7 keepers, however this one was a nice 6.4# toad. We weighed 13.4#s I believe, this tourney has you only weigh 4 which is a nice change. The toad came on a spinnerbait early and most of the rest of the fish were caught on jigs, cranks and a little bit of finesse stuff. Water up in the Son's is really off color, fishable but I found it to be pretty tough going. We did notice a few areas that looked like some nests were being built, not sure if it was bass since we didn't see any bloody tails? Tight Lines All!
  7. Fished yesterday and the water up in Son's had turned dinghy, main lake still looked pretty good.
  8. I was lucky enough to spend a total of 27 hours over the past 3 days on the H2o! Spent Friday and Saturday up on Stockton and Sunday down at the Rock. Friday's Report: Fished with Jason from 7:30 to noon out of State Park and only had one small bass, water temps were 49 to 50 but we just couldn't get bit in all the "good" places. Pulled the boat out at noon and went up to Roark and dropped the boat back in. Stayed in the Son's Creek area and ended up with roughly 25 with the best 5 going 11#s. Couldn't get bit on the blade, about 1/3 of the fish came with the crankbait and most with the jig in less than 6' of water. Water temps in Son's were 54 to 58. SE winds of 10 to 15, 65 degrees and mostly sunny skies. Saturday's Report: Put back in at Roark about 7:30 and ran up the Sac, what a difference a day makes with the blade! I started on a main lake point, threw a creature bait on a shakey-head out into 6' of water and while I was turning on the graph and adjusting the trolling motor my first keeper picked up the bait and was swimming off with it! For the next 10 min I couldn't get bit on that bait again so I picked up the blade and and in the next 50 yards of the bank I had 7 more keepers. First time I think I have had a limit+ in the first 30 min of the day. Stayed in the Sac until late afternoon and then went up around twin-bridges and caught a few more fish before coming off the water around 6:00. I ended up catching 24 fish on Saturday and believe it or not 19 of those were keepers. All the keepers were 15 to 17 inches and I think the biggest weighed 3.25#s, best 5 would have gone another 12 or 13 pounds. I was about 1/2 way back in a cut in the Sac mid-morning and I noticed shad being busted in the very far back of the cove. I went up into 2' of water thinking that these must be blacks up there but it turned out to be whites feasting on a bunch of shad, and here I thought all the whites would be way up the river. Water in the Sac was about 53 on the main lake and the same around twin bridges. I did find 57 where the whites were busting. Bluebird day, high of 70 with same SE wind as Friday. Sunday @ the Rock: Put in at Aunts Creek with Austin around 10:00 and thankfully it never rained there yesterday. Air temps never got above 46 and there was a cold NW wind blowing all day. Stayed in Aunts Creek most of the day and ended up with 10, only 4 of those keeping. All on the crankbait except the biggest one (3.35) which came on a jig in a main lake pocket. My buddy did catch one on a spinnerbait and a few on the ned. No rhyme or reason with the fish down there yesterday, we caught them on sheer bluffs, very backs of creeks and main lake points. Water temps around Aunts were 54 degrees. Next week is going to be THE WEEK, can't wait! Tight Lines All!
  9. Gambler, was that on Saturday or Sunday??
  10. Let's go dprice!!!
  11. Doubtful but maybe??????
  12. Like The Gambler we too had a cold, snowy and windy day. Two boats and 4 pretty good sticks and all we could come up with was 7 fish, 5 keepers, for 7 hours on the water. Went out of Mutton and stayed pretty close to the ramp most of the day. Junkyard fishing, one on a blade, 3 on a crankbait, 2 on a shakey head and one on a jig. Water stayed at 48 all day wherever we went. Anybody have any ideas what weight it took to win the small tourneys that were on the water this weekend? Tight Lines!
  13. This little cut was totally calm but that was pretty much the exception, most all the other fish were on windy banks. Most of the fish yesterday were bluff-bank/chanel-swing fish. Headed back up in a few hours to see if the pattern is still working on more of the mid-lake stuff. Tight Lines!
  14. We got most of them up in the timber, this fat girl came within a half mile of the ramp!!!
  15. Fished from 7:30 to 2:30 out of Roark. Hard NW wind and water temps were 48 to 51. Best 5 went about 15lbs. Jig, blades and crankbaits worked for us. Found most fish in 2 to 6 FOW including this 6.7 beauty!!!
  16. I also went out yesterday out of Old State Park, caught a keeper on the third cast on a Wart and thought " here we go!". 4 hours later I caught a 14" walleye on the shakey head and that was it for 8 hours on the water. Nice day on the lake tho weather wise!
  17. Clarity and water temps please, thanks. If you are headed to The Rock this weekend we went today and had 7 on Warts! Be prepared though the water is very dingy out of Aunts Creek, one foot visibility and 46 to 49 water temps. Main lake around Joe Bald is even dirtier.
  18. Took the boat up today. State Park, Old State Park, closed off. Able to launch @ the upper ramp @Cedar Ridge Muddy water @ Mutton and Cedar Ridge Water starts to clear up at the mouth of Maze Creek headed north. Water in State Park cove almost clear. Fishing was poor, very poor. Couldn't find any bass or crappie. Good luck if you go. It's going to be a long few months. ??
  19. Happy new year Dutch, how was the water color in the main lake?
  20. WOW! Thought about heading up tomorrow, anybody have any idea what the water color and the ramps look like @ State Park area......or old State Park? Thanks in advance. Happy New Year!
  21. Sorry guys I left for Colorado right after I posted the report so I didn't get a chance to respond to the questions. Just got back, looks like you had some precipitation while I was gone.
  22. 12/21-State Park, 8-4, water temp 50. Had a really good day fishing between St. Park and into Maze Creek. Ended up with 15, 10 of those were nice chunky keepers!!! The Wart bite was ON with a few coming on the creature bait. The fish have moved back out into deeper water, channel-swing banks and a few out on the points. 12/22, Mutton Creek, 8-3, water temp 47/48. Guess I should have stayed on the other side of the lake. Fished hard and ended up with 4, 3 of the 4 came on one 20 yard section of a bank in Googer. Only one keeper, all were caught on the Wart. Couldn't find any on the bluffs or points. Tight Lines and Merry Christmas!
  23. Put in at State Park and fished from 7:30 to 3:30, ended up with around 20 bass. Had 4 keepers, nothing over 2.5 #s, only one smallie and one kentucky. I never got more than two miles from the ramp and found about half the bass in 10 to 12 feet of water and the other half in less than three feet. Half came on creature baits and the others came on a 1.5 shad crankbait. Also talked with a guy at the ramp who said he had good luck on a wart. Don't hesitate to go into the backs of the coves and also fish the last secondary point in the cove. Can't beat this weather! Tight Lines!
  24. I was up yesterday and the water between Old State Park and the darn stayed pretty firmly at 49 degrees for the entire day. The back of Hawker was 47. We ended up with about a dozen including 3 keeper blacks. Still a few on crankbaits but most on jigs and brushhogs. For 7 hours of fishing it had slowed down a bunch since Thanksgiving. Tight Lines!
  25. http://www.scout.com/outdoors/wired2fish/story/1617754-potential-world-record-spotted-bass-caught How would you like to look down and find this baby on the end of your line.......YIKES! Now this would be a Tight Line! :-)
