I certainly could be wrong on the name but it would the first mistake I ever made. LOL. Like I said I dont have a map of Pomme so i probably misunderstood my brother but he did say something about the humps.

Well 5bites in my line of work I get rained out so around the first of June to the middle we would go up to CC and fish off the rip rap at the bridge and most of the time come home with a nice mess of cats of all sizes. I have seen some very nice bigs ones caught there. We use shrimp most of the time and will let it sit out and get stinky and refreeze the leftover to use next time. Also my nephew has had good luck using chicken breast soaked in powdered koolaid. Just put chunks of chicken in a zip lock bag and pour in a packet of koolaid powder and mix. Good luck.

Well last week I asked for more reports on Pomme and several people responded. I thank you for that. Although I didnt fish there this weekend my brother did so I will report for him. Sat. was dead he said. Couldnt buy a bite. On Sunday he said he caught 7 keepers early (crappie) and then they just shut off. He packed it in a 1pm. He fished brush piles and trees. Case anyone is interested I fished Stockton on Sunday and it was dead. We only had 2 keeper crappie and 1 eye. Everyone I talked to said it was the same way on Sat. People are starting to night fish for crappie on Stockton with very good success. Keep up the reports and happy fishing.

My brother fishes pomme and keeps me posted on whats happening there for when I want to come up. He told me his neighbors have been having good luck on the eyes this past week. I dont have a pomme map but he said they are catching them on Morgans Flats which if I understood his directions is not to far from the dam up the Pomme arm. Maybe that will help someone. Good luck.

Well got stuck working Saturday again but I did get to go to Rouark on Sunday and took my son in law with me. I always want to go eye fishing but get to busy catching crappie and never make it any farther but sunday we commited to go after the eyes for a couple of hours first. We trolled along the west side of old state park and picked up 2 15 inchers and 1 keeper crappie before moving on to the crappie waters. Should have just stayed after the walleyes because the crappie would not be found. My buddy had fished on saturday and said it was really bad then too. That everyone boat he talked to had the same story. They only caught 5 keepers and 1 eye before giving up. We only had 2 keeper crappie ALL day and only 5 shorts but hey I'm not complaining at least I got to go and it was a nice day. By the way my brother fished at Pomme and had the same story. Might have to try that night fishing that some of you are talking about. Sounds like you are having good success. Good luck everyone.

What kind of tourney? Bass. Crappie?

Excuse me but I do believe Pomme has as much fishing pressure as Stockton when you consider the size of the two lakes. And if you have never been to Pomme I dont know how you can say. And I thought I was trying to get more people to report by politely asking them to.

Hi everyone. I fish Stockton for crappie most of the time but my brother has a weekend place on pomme and I do like to come there and fish with him from time to time. I have told him about this web site but since i have become a member it dosnt seem like very many people report their fishing trips on pomme like they do on Stockton. Just trying to spark more interest here. Happy fishing.

Congrats. If you don't mind saying was that over brush piles around standing timber or the bridge or what. And did they still have eggs? tx.

I think the spawn is a scattered as the fish this year. With the early warm weather that set some of them off as the water warmed but then the rains and cool nights came and backed some off. With that being said I truley believe that even though the warm water told them to spawn their biological clock was telling them is was'nt time yet so now some have some have'nt some will and some won't just like the years when we get the big spring rains just before the spawn and the lake levels go way up and screw everything up. In short you just have to be in the right spot at the right time to cash in. The only time I have hit the spawn right on on Stockton was two years ago when I was recovering from a heart attack. Best vacation I ever had. Turkey hunted every morning and crappie fished every afternoon. Good luck.

Hooray! I finally got a saturday off and spent the day crappie fishing with my buddy at CC area. Man what a beautiful day. Overcast and just a slight breeze. If only the fish would have been biting. Thought it was going to be a killer day when I caught a fish on each of my first two casts but that soon came to an end. As we moved around it seemed we could only pick up one crappie at each stop and not always a keeper. Needless to say it was a slow day but it was still such a nice day. We did end up with 11 keepers and 1 eye between us. Some on minnows some on jigs of no particular color. Most fish were caught in 4 to 10 fow and the bite was very tender. Most of the crappie still had firm eggs. Thats about all the info I can give. Hope to see some of you there. Keep up the good reporting and stay safe.

i assume the moss is because of the mild winter. i fished pomme couple weeks ago with my brother and it was the same way there.

straw hat. heres a tip you might try next time you get into a lot of small crappie at a certain depth. try going 3 to 5 feet below that level if you can get your bait past the little fellows. sometimes the big guys hang out below a school of small fish. glad to here everyone is catching fish. once again i had to work on sat. thats 3 in a row now. bad timing. i tried to go sunday . took my wife so she could try out my new to me boat but wind beat us up and then the clouds rolled in and made it to cold for her. dont tell her i said so but i think she is bad luck. the weather always turns bad when i take her. good luck everyone and catch one for me.

dont get me wrong. i know we need the rain but not on my fishing day. didnt get to go last saturday because of work and was looking so forward to it today. its kinda like looking forward to sex and then that dont happen. maybe they will miss the storm forecast for sunday and i will get some satisfaction.

dont give up on cedar ridge justin. i used to only fish greenfield till my fishin partner talked me into cedar ridge. now i love it there. we catch more and bigger crappie there than at cc. although our first run to cedar this year was a bust we have been catching them at cc which always seems to do better earlier in the year. im so jealous of everyone that got to go fishing this past weekend. was all ready to go and got called late friday night that i had to work saturday and had to do the easter thing on sunday. was such a beautiful day as i drove over truman lake. keep the reports coming.. maybe i will get rained out of work someday this week.. sandbc

got to cc at 6:45. lower parking lot was already full. couldnt park along side road because of so many boats lined up on the road waiting to unload. at least i can say the ones ahead of us had their act together and got backed in and unloaded quickly. good job. i cant stand people that cant back a trailer and then load their boat at the ramp and forget to unhook the boat or put the plug in. as for the fishing, the crappie were not on the banks. was a very slow start but finally found a honey hole in 8 ft of water with fish 4 or 5 ft deep. and then it ended about noon. couldnt buy a fish for three hours. and just like that they turned back on. morning was mostly on minnows. afternoon we caught them almost every cast on any kind of charturse/glitter jig mostly 9 inchers and then suddenly they quit jigs and we started catching slabs on minnows until we limited out. what a beautiful day in all respects. good luck everyone and someone give me a report on cedar ridge where i normaly go.
