  1. Michael, Happy birthday!!!! 33 is all!! Backcountry is the best!!!
  2. Thanks for the great report Tim. You always know how to get everyone pumped up!!!
  3. I've got three girls 6, 8 and 10 and they love trout fishing!! They are bugging me everyday to go!! And the "quaility time" works everytime with my wife! The first time I took them all at once was 2 years ago and I thought I might as well leave my rod in the truck but did they supprise me!!! They fished right with me and I told them that if they were fishing and I caught one they could could reel it in. They never stopped fishing. It was a good day and each got to reel in at least 5 fish each. I would say "who's next" and they kept track of who was next. Later in the day I said "who's next"? and a deep voice from the opposite direction said "ME"!! I turnd to see an older gentleman standing there with his hand up!! We got a good laugh from that and I gave him a couple flys to use. All good day!!!

    Web Cams

I've been thinking again! Wouldn't it be wonderful if all the state trout parks and the trophy area on Taney had web cams that we could log on to to see what the rivers were doing!!! We could sit and dream all day long!!! What do you all think???

    Chiefs

As far as the draft. The Chiefs suck in the draft!! They get lucky every ten years or so. I hope they don't go wild and just pick people like they have in the past. I will miss the only leader on the team!! I mean it!! He was the only one on the team that showed fire!!! LJ should be the next to be traded!!!! I've seen enough baby bottles thrown around the field!!!!
  7. Way to go Leonard!! Now you got all us desk jockys worked up!!! "One unit" That hasn't been heard or read in a long time!!! I bet that walleye will be good eaten!! Yum!!
  8. Clay, Really nice shots! God is and allways will be amazing!!

    B-days

Thanks guys!! I wish I would have seen this on my B-day. It would have helped my outlook a bunch!! It was a ruff week. Everyone was sick. We are better now!! I need to wet a line bad!!! Thanks again!!
  13. The thing is that it wouldn't be introducing and new species. I would be restocking. I'm not talking about putting in 100's of trout either. I mean a limit every once in a while. I don't think the creek could support a large number of trout. I would also be afraid that there would be the old problem of people loading up their freezers also like they do down at Jolley Mill south of Monett. I'll probley never get to try it but it sure would be fun to have one big secret close by!! Thanks guys!!
  14. I've been thinking about restocking trout in a stream that at one time had trout in it. It's a small stream that runs into Stockton lake. There was a CCC project that dumped into this stream. The project at this location was building good sized lakes that were spring fed and were perfect for trout. The trout inturn got into this stream and survived many years. I used to fish this stream and have caught many trout some up to 4lbs. I saw one that would have gone at least 8lbs one time. This was all in the mid 80's that I saw and caught these fish. I waded this stream a couple years ago and there wasn't anything in the stream at all. It looked like there was a kill of some kind. I wanted to ask true fishermen their opinon on whether I should start putting some fish back into this stream? Thanks!!
  15. Hey!! Anyone fish Montauk this week or opening day?? Everywhere else has had reports. How did the river look??? Big fish??
  16. Went down and had a great day! Caught lots of fish and had the place to myself most of the morning. Saw Tim catching a bunch of fish. San Juan was doing the damage for me. Caught a few on a egg fly. If they wanted the egg fly you couldn't get it away from them. They would come at it like a lighting bolt!!! Very agressive. Had a couple around 4lbs. All in all a great day!! I hate to see C&R end. I've had a winter to remember!!
  17. I'm going to try my best to be down this Friday. Hope to see you all there!!!
  18. I decited I was going Snow cold or whatever. There was about an inch of snow on the ground but nothing on the roads. I rolled in about 7:30am and the river was mine at that time. Got close to 8:00 and a few more rolled and Tim was one of them. Had only a couple hours to fish but made the best of it. Caught a lot of very nice fish. I've enjoyed this C&R like never before! The fish are just hungry!! It was good to see Tim and he wasn't doing too bad. I'm going to remember this C&R for a long time.
  19. Thank you all!! I'm checking out all of them. It's nice to have this forum! Thanks Phil!!
  20. The biggest thing is the cost. If I could go to Alaska cheaper than Canada with good results that's what I want to do. It would be me and my best friend Marshall law going right now. I've been looking around Houston British Columbia but they are too high. I'm just looking for some Steelhead for a decent price.
  21. Well I've got the OK to go up north next year and fish. I want to do this on a shoestring budget and I need any and all advice or contacts or in general Help!!! This will be my first trip up north and I want to catch some big steelhead and I don't want to screw it up! Thank you all!!!
  22. I fished Wed morning from 3am to 9am. I was useing a purple mohair leech. They were knocking the thunder out of it but not eating it. They ate the tail right off of it. I did catch about 15 fish but it could have been a killer night if I hooked half of what I missed. The mob moved in at 8:00 and I had to leave. It was like one minute no one, the next minute 50 people. I did see several hogs swimming around but not intersted in what I had in my box. VERY NICE fish you caught!! Thanks for the picture!!! Are you fishing the skuds with a glow stick??
  23. Well it was 18 in Cassville at the bank at 7am but I was going fishing. The wind was calm and the air was crisp to say the least. The trout were ready for some company! I had fun keeping the ice out of my eyes. The river has more big fish in it than I've ever seen. I caught 5 fish over 5lbs. I didn't even notice the cold. At 8am I could see two people up the river but before long some more started to show. Looked like about 30 in the upper part of the park. San Juan was the ticket for me today. Did see lots of people catching nice fish. Great time!!!!
  24. Hey, It was great to meet everyone! I had a great time also!! The B&G's were very good. The weather was just right. The fishing was great! The catching was very good! But the best part was getting to meet and talk to you all! It's great to meet a bunch of guys like this and walk up and you've got friends instantly. I fished with a San Juan worm till noon and they were all over it. I did manage to catch one about 5lbs.My brother fished Sat up above and he had the best day catching good fish in his life!! He had 5 fish over 3 and one of them was around 7lbs. He didn't take his camera but I have to believe him. Hey Steve I did what you told me too with my camera after I dropped it in the drink and the rice took the water right out and it's working right again! Thank you!! Rusty, You da man!! I'm going to make it a point to bring at least one of my girls from now on. I usually bring all three and never get to work with them one on one with the fly rod but I'm going to have too. See you all soon!!
  25. John19 Thank you! That is a very good point. NO sarcaum at all. Thanks! JM A big cotton or rubber net (not nylon) supports the whole fish. You can weigh the net and the fish at the same time if you want. It's also easer to control it's movements.
