  3. We had a group down Friday to Sunday also. The storm was a pain but everything else was great. We went from Cedargrove to Two Rivers. Not a lot of fish. It was my first float in 30 years so I mainly enjoyed the river and my buddies! WHAT A RIVER!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!
  4. Greg, I was leaning to the leaches like you said. I've got some cone heads that I've been wanting to try.
  5. Hey! One more question. What size fly rods do most take??
  6. Thanks for the info. I'll have to get out the map and make a game plan. It sounds like I'm going to paddle ahead and fish and wait on the others to make it. I'm looking forward to it!!
  7. I'm going floating for the first time in 25years. It's going to be a three day. I need to beg for info for fly fishing. I want to show them a thing or two the first day and then help everyone the second. Tips Please!! We are starting at Cedar Grove and going to Two Rivers.

  9. Nice hog and nice looking!!! I caught a 7lb in my dads farm pond one time on the flyrod.
  10. I started this on one of the other forums but didn't get many that even read it. I'm setting up a trip to the Elk Creek Trail #731 in Colorado next June and I was wondering if anyone had any good info on it. There is a great article in the latest Fly Fisherman that has really got me hyped up. Any inside info would be greatly appreciated.
  11. I was reading the great article in the Fly Fisherman's mag last month and I decited to put this trip on my calander for 2011. Has anyone been there or has any info that would be helpful? Thanks!!!!!
  12. Hey, I survived the trip. We had a really good time. The Brooks were beautiful!! Here's a web site to look at the pictures if you would like. I've also added a Facebook address for my RDP fly rods if you want to become friends. Thank!! http://picasaweb.google.com/RDPflyrods/LostCreek2010#
  13. Shop around is the biggest thing. Get what you want from feeling the rods. A cheap rod to some is the perfect fit. Some spend a kings ransom and it's perfect for them. Shop around.
  14. Eggs and fresh Brookies for breakfast. My belly is talking to me!!!
  15. Liv2flyfish, That's a nice one!!! The ones I'll be catching will be about 1/4th that size! The SanJuan will be in my box for sure. Thanks!!!!
  16. Hello everyone! I'm getting ready to do some hiking out in the Goose Creek area in Colorado and I was wondering if anyone had any favorite flys that they use. I've got three or four that do good but I'm wanting to have some more ready just in case. We will be fishing in very small streams in the Lost Creek trail. Any extra ideas will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
  17. Nice report! Thanks for making my hand twitch. Thanks for the great report anyway!!!
  18. They are very right. Leave it at home and learn and each fish you catch on the fly rod will be so much more thrilling. It is hard to do it but the rewards are great!! Montauk is a wonderful place!!
  19. I thought it was clever also! I believe the smaller trout have escaped from the hatchery and are running for their lives!!!
  20. Well it was a great day at the river!! It was a light turn out and it wasn't to bad weather wise. The first fish I caught was a nice hard fighting 2 1/2lb fish. I ended up catching about 20+ fish till 11:00am and then it was time to go golfing. I used the Killer worm. The fish that I caught were a better quality than I've seen in the past. Great day!!!
  21. In the late 80's I caught a 2.lb rainbow under the Shell Knob bridge in Feburary on a Shad Rap. We both were very supprised to meet there!
  22. A buddy sent me this picture of a couple browns he caught a couple weekends ago! Both are very nice!!!!
  23. I hope you mean in March??
  24. Easy Laker67! Your making me nervous! Don't even kid about that!! I've had a really quiet C&R this year. I was unnerved by the way people treated the fish this year. Lot's of dead fish on the bottom when I was down at RR. I'm ready for Taney to calm down and get back to some night fishing!!
  25. I bet you could see them standing there with their eyes closed wondering if they were sleep fishing! Ha!!
