  1. Right? If it really is a legitimate trout, then that is awesome. But if not, that's the lake I want to start fishing in if they will stock it like that.
  2. Got an email from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation: Oklahoma State record Rainbow trout has been broken. 10 lbs. 10.56 ounces, 27 3/4" long. . No disrespect to Mark Reed who caught the fish fair and square, congrats, definitely a heck of a fish no matter where it is from . But from a Winter Trout fishery? Really? C'mon... The email does say they think they fish survived summer months long enough to grow to this size though. Guess we'll never know. And here's the story, though I can't seem to find it from an Oklahoma source yet. http://naturalgeographic.net/wp/record-trout-caught-in-oklahoma/
  3. I believe Derek should answer this! i havent been yet.
  4. Sweet, unfortunately I have no idea how that translates to hook size.... I gotta say though, impressing pictures! Macro lens?
  5. That is cool. How big was it? Hard to find something to compare it to.
  6. Alright, so next weekend I have free - the weekend before my wedding, and I am free to spend the weekend fishing. #win Trying to decide where to go and I want to give the White another try. A few questions, though: I have read all of this stuff on the new Minimum flow, yes all of it, but for someone who lives 4 hours away and doesn't make frequent trips to the White, will I actually be able to wade enough to keep fishing 'happily'? Having not been there enough, I don't know what is wadeable,, as in CFS, where would be wadeable, etc. I am confident wading, probably too confident, so I am not worried about a couple extra inches to a foot of water. I understand the implications of the MF, but is it going to ruin a weekend of fishing and trying to avoid the crowds? Any advice here would be awesome - not looking for anyone's secret holes or anything, just want some advice on what levels are wadeable and where. Next question: I really want to camp on the river if at all possible, not worried about cold weather, but just want to get back to basics. Ideas on where is best to do this? I have looked at places like Rainbow Drive Resort, but just looking for some opinions! That is all for now - if anyone would like to meet up I wouldnt mind putting faces to names! Thanks in advance.

  8. I'm gonna shoot for exotic and say Gaboon Viper.
  9. All depends on the quality of the marabou. I've found on the strung marabou I have there are only so many feathers that will be decent enough to actually wrap. They're in there, you just gotta take the time to look.
  10. Haha true that! I don't mind them at all, I'd probably try to at least get a picture or two!
  11. Heck yeah! Fantastic game!
  12. http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2013/09/espn-goes-to-columbus-usa-vs-mexico-2014-fifa-world-cup-qualifier/ "The USA-Mexico match will potentially qualify the U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) for Brazil 2014. More than 220 credentials have been issued to ESPN personnel providing match and surround content to fans via a myriad of platforms, making USA vs. Mexico the most comprehensive commitment by a media company in the United States for a single soccer event." Interesting.... Anyway.... GAME ON!!!!!
  13. How are the water levels and temperatures at Crane right now? Thinking about a trip in the near future. Is there a river gauge anywhere for this creek? Thanks guys!
  14. US Women's Soccer special on ESPN right now
  15. I agree with most people, unfortunate. That, however, was one very beautiful specimen!
  16. Fantastic pictures!!
  17. The biggest problem I see isn't the support, it's what Americans are and what they like to watch. Take MLB for example, you go to a game and you sit there. You sit and sit and sit, you order a beer, get a bag of peanuts, get another beer, and just keep sitting all the while. Before NFL games you tailgate. At NASCAR, you get hammered. And so on and so forth. Soccer games are completely different. While you may go get a beer, its not like baseball. It's an energy packed arena with outrageously loud fans and not much in the way of comfort. They go to baseball games because it's a past time and they're lazy and want to just watch. They go to NASCAR because - well who knows why. Soccer just isn't an "American" sport. While figures may show differently, they still only show a very small % compared to other professional sports. Don't take this message as soccer will never be a HUGE deal. But compare it to 10 and 20 years ago, US soccer is big deal now. While we aren't one of the bigger contenders in the WC, I do think we have the ability to challenge those who are and create some upsets. And while the MLS isn't the biggest deal yet, it is definitely on it's way. And finally, while we aren't putting out very many top athletes, I played with some absolutely mind blowing players in college and have see some younger generations who just have ridiculously ridiculous raw skill. WE ARE WELL ON OUR WAY THERE!
  18. AF is Auto Focus correct? what the difference between that and Auto Stabilizers? With all this talk of lenses and such, I am left wondering, how do I know if a particular lens is of high quality? Aside from just price.
  19. Check the river levels before you go!
  20. I agree, the second photo appears to be sharper/clearer, as well as but also closer. Not sure if that is a trick my mind is playing on me though. What difference should we be seeing? What's the lesson?
  21. These photos are from my iPhone, it was a 4 at the time I've since then upgraded, but they are pretty clear. Is that because my MP were just a good for for the picture or something else? It's been over a year and a half since I took these, but I don't remember editing them in anyway. They're just sitting on my camera roll. I hope I am clear in what I'm asking...
  22. That picture looks fantastically clear though! I didn't think about the download times and disk space though, that's a very good point! How many MP was that that picture taken with? So what camera body would you recommend right now? And I assume it is cheaper to buy a package like that, but probably not always beneficial to great photos. What I don't know is how do i know if a body or lens are good quality and worth me checking in to, or just leaving alone.
  23. So, which is better? Maybe a dumb question, but just trying to grasp mp vs. lenses and zooming in in my head.... lets use the example of a bird in a tree... Taking a picture with 24 mp and then zooming in on the actual picture to what you want to see vs. having the correct lens and zooming in before even taking the picture? Not that I won't invest in another lens in the future, but I feel like having a clearer crisper result to work with would be tons easier. That's definitely one way of learning! That's all I do with my gopro, unfortunately I don't care for the LCD touch screen they have available, it is not the same as looking at it on my mac.
  24. Finally responding..... There's been some great info and points here! I guess I should have said in the beginning what I want it for/what it will be used for. I doubt that she will be letting me take it out on the river any time soon, BUT I WILL try! Unless I am in a drift boat or water (very)tight kayak where it will be safe from all things that kill cameras, then it may not be that big of a deal. However, I am sure it will be used for wildlife/nature/trips, and more often it will be used for family pictures, youth events, videos (fishing, family, kids, youth)... so it would have many different applications. I already have an Iphone, and a gopro, and though they're two different cameras, they do 'cover the bases.' Though a P&S would be cool, as there are some nice ones out there! So, what I seem to be getting is that you get what you pay for, and Nikon and Canon both have their pros and cons, and I should make sure to spend the money on lenses if I can. Here's another question: I see DSLR's ranging from like 12mp to 24mp, in a respectable price range, anyways, so how big of a different do MP really make? And if we buy a package deal, camera and lens or lenses, etc. is it better to buy a camera with more mp's and only one lense, or a camera with fewer mp's and multiple lenses. A quick search brings up these examples: http://www.target.com/p/nikon-d3200-24-2mp-digital-slr-camera-with-18-55mm-vr-lens-black-25492/-/A-14129489?reco=Rec|pdp|14129489|ClickCP|item_page.new_vertical_1&lnk=Rec|pdp|ClickCP|item_page.new_vertical_1 http://www.target.com/p/nikon-d3100-digital-slr-camera-with-18-55mm-55-200mm-lenses-black/-/A-14516685?reco=Rec|pdp|14516685|ViewedPurchasedPercent|item_page.new_vertical_1&lnk=Rec|pdp|ViewedPurchasedPercent|item_page.new_vertical_1 For those of you who have used DSLR's for some time, how did you learn to use it with all the different settings and lenses?
