  1. Hahaha! That's awesome
  2. Wow, I had heard that about the Premier league! That's freakin awesomen
  3. Saying Pro Soccer is a dead issue is like saying fly fishing is a dead issue and that it's not growing. Both of these sports are taking leaps and bounds in growth! Yeah, both sports 10-20 years ago were not the "popular" thing, but they still had their groups. Those groups are just exploding now. I credit the Internet!
  4. It's really interesting though, I asked someone just the other day because of this thread, and this guy travels to both St Louis and OKC and used to live in Springfield and now lives in Tulsa, about what he thought of this. He doesn't think OKC is a basketball town or even OK is a basketball state. We're a football state through and through. But the chance at getting an NBA team was awesome and exciting, and then it practically exploded because of how successful they are. That's the only reason you can go anywhere in OK and see Thunder apparel. (About 85% of those people probably couldn't tell you the starting 5 on the team.) The same thing can be said about The Cards, I can go to Joplin and see Cards stuff. From the outside that makes St. Louis a baseball city, with a very successful baseball team at that! Playing through club teams and into the collegiate level, I never played a club team from St Louis, and only one collegiate team if I remember right, though I can't remember what school... I believe on my college team there was only 2 or 3 guys out of the group of 30 of us that we're from STL. And that school is in KC, so not to far away.

  6. Before the Thunder came to OKC though, OKC was, and I would dare to say still isn't, a basketball town. I don't see St Louis as a soccer town though. St. Louis is know for it's baseball (definitely not football).
  7. Yes, I have been be throwing on my 8wt and WF. At least, that's what my memory is telling me. I'm fairly certain I didn't buy a DT.... I do have problem with the timing, but the mechanics of getting the 'second' haul in there is where I seem to have the most trouble. It's like in still focused on the first haul and trying to visualize the second but then I've already pass the point when I should have hauled!
  8. So, the fiancé and I are looking into investing in a DSLR to document the memories, the trips, the fun, and THE FISH (however she doesn't know about that part yet!). But the market for DSLR's is HUGE, so I'm curious as to what cameras, set ups, lenses, etc you guys are using, and also why. Both of her sisters and a friend all have Nikons. While they take great pictures and are relatively simple to use, I've heard that Nikon isn't the way to go. And we would also rather be different. Also, another question is editing aoftware and who actually uses it. So... GO.
  9. Alright, so I've been fly fishing for a few years now, and now I'm starting to get towards the big streamers and poppers and just meat in general. More or less at this point not because I am diving head first into the streamer game, but because I want to update my arsenal of tactics/skills on the water, and I just want to understand another part of the game. So, teach me the double haul. Yeah, I've read about it, I've watched videos, guides and anglers have 'shown me' how, I've had it explained in person, blah blah blah... But none of that adds up to anything in my front yard (except looking awesome to your neighbors). Knowing 'how' to do it and being able to do it are totally different things. So what can I do to teach myself this? Advice? Help? Thanks in advance guys!
  10. I didn't even get to see the game, and didn't record it. I didn't know it was playing on the local network though! I'm bummed now. From some other guys I talked to though, they described it as boring. But in the end, a win is a win, and that definitely is a step up for US Soccer!
  11. What team is OKC getting? I haven't heard anything about that.
  12. I assume you guys have heard, but if not, Klinsman has been suspended from being on the sideline for the final. I didn't get to see the last game but I guess he got sent off in the last few minutes of the game? Should be an interesting game!
  13. Bona fide? What do you call the MLS? Which is ALL American players with a few exceptions, especially more home grown than a lot of other leagues. Don't start the sport argument though, because by definition high school marching band is a sport........ And no one wants to have that!
  14. If someone would just produce indicators that look like berries and sticks....
  15. That's really cool!
  16. I hope canoes/rafts and people are your intended target species! There will be a lot of them!
  17. I lost a rod two weeks as well. Ultralight lines with 6lb flouro, bass pro tournament series reel, 5 1/2 ft rod, rebel craw tied on at the end. Sucks....
  18. Sick video. Loved the sound track and the addition of the Bigfoot video!
  19. Salmon Fishing! Not my video, and also it's says video for June 5... But I got it in the email today. I always enjoy GoPro videos, just wanted to share. http://gopro.com/videos/video-of-the-day/2013/6/5/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=http%3a%2f%2fgopro.com%2fvideos%2fvideo-of-the-day%2f2013%2f6%2f5%2f&utm_campaign=vow-newsletter-hook-bullet-alaskan-fishing
  20. Yeah, man. I'll be in a kayak with a fly rod!
  21. Yeah, I've got two still that he gave me along with some dry fly hackles he gave me to try. Definitely will put those flies aside now.
  22. That's a sweet pic of the Timber Rattlesnake, provided I identified it correctly. Looks like a small log
  23. I have already spoken to a couple guys about this and received great advice, but decided I would double check here to make sure I am not missing anything! My dad and I will be camping floating and fishing this weekend, not sure what outfitter/campground yet, but I'm not looking for advice about that. We will be doing two days of floating, one on the upper and one on the lower, so I am looking for fishing advice. We will be mainly fly fishing, though the spinning rods are more apt to come out during the smallie water. I have already tied up crawdads, clousers, low-fat minnows, even some frogs etc for smallmouth. And I am in the process of finishing my trout side at the moment. Pats Rubberlegs, prince and psychos, some hares ear nymphs. Anything I am missing? Any advice? One question, is it hot enough during the summer to comfortably wet wade the lower stretch? Thanks!!
  24. Purchased some. Applied it to a Kleenex. Water literally beads off. I shoved the whole thing in a glass of water and pulled it out dry. If I could only figure out how to upload a video..
