  1. ive done well in the past on a trout pattern rapala between eagle rock and big m later winter early spring.
  2. great report and sorry to hear about the theft in matter of fact i got where i dont leave anything of value in my truck especially if im fishing at night we are start to having trouble again up on stockton with thiefs breaking out windows to get in to your vehicle. a friend of mine had a nice gps and binoculars stole last weekend up at the north mutton creek access.
  3. thnx for the reports, yea bob i think with this next little front moving thru i dont seeing them moving to the banks im gonna try fishing in 10 to 12 foot of water just off the spawning banks. even if the males moved up the big females will still be staged off the banks.
  4. Great catch
  5. My local crappie club is fishing out of Cape Fair Saturday morning. i was wondering if anyone has done any good in that area in the last week and if the crappie are up on the banks yet. im not sure which direction to go whether stay around Bridge Port or either head up the flat or the james. Any reports would be greatly appreciated cause i primarily wish Stockton and its been awhile since I've fished the Cape Fair area but i do know the area very well just been a couple years since I've fished it.
  6. i caught a few whites on up sons at the 39 bridge yesterday afternoon on rage tale grubs on an 1/8 jig head. its not that far a run from mutton creek on up sons creek to griesser i dont know prob 20 min run at the most. if it was me i'd go on in griesser and fish the bush piles and pockets for crappie too. i pull some good whites when im crappie fishing in there this time of year too.
  7. i tested the crappie waters this afternoon at the old road bed at 39 bridge on sons creek today. i only fished a couple hours but it was such a nice day i thought id go work off all that Easter ham i ate. ended up with 14 decent keepers up to 12in all but three had eggs. i thew a blk body/char, tail, rage tail grub on a 1/8 oz jig. slow steady retrieve about a foot off the bottum in 6ft. of water seemed the most productive. i caught a few small whites (all males) on a rage tail in tennesse shad color. saw two quality eyes caught off the main channel drop. i'm not sure how much this next cold front will slow things down but my crappie club is going up Saturday and i expect the bite to be good.
  8. I ran up to the old road bed at the 39 bridge on sons creek this afternoon and just fished off the bank on that big flat. caught 14 nice crappie 10 to 12 inch range all but three had eggs. water had good stain and the current was moving in the channel. i saw a guy out in a boat pull out two quality walleye off the channel break. i was throwing a blk body char. tail rage tail grub. considering i wasnt in my boat and only fished a couple hours i thought i had a very productive afternoon. my crappie club is going up saturday so i will try to post a report that evening. tight lines everyone. sacriverjim signing off.
