  1. Took this on trade this fall and been working on it as much as i can this winter. Here are my pics http://s1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb369/davidrparrish/Pontoon/ View as a slideshow and it will take 5 minutes to view the pics in order from the time i first looked at it till now. My first question is about a livewell.Has anybody made a large livewell? The BassBuggy came with an aluminum livewell under one of the seats and it might hold a limit of crappie but thats about it.Its just not big enough for me so its gonna go in the barter/sell pile or ill turn it into a custom carpeted/insulated cooler. My second question-is my 56lb 24volt trolling motor big enough for a 20ft pontoon? I have my 6g wireing with a 50amp breaker that i had for my bass boat but i dont want to install it if i have to get a bigger trolling motor and bigger guage wiring. My third question-what batteries and charger should i buy?Im going to get a discount through my girlfriend at Oreilly so the batteries will come from there.I will probably get the charger online.I have one good (1 year old)marine battery i want just for the boat motor and running lights.I want two brand new batteries for the trolling motor but i dont want to buy the wrong ones and then regret it later on.I need a 3bank charger but i think i want a 4bank just in case one of the banks die after the warranty expires.I had a schumacher ship n shore dual bank charger in my bass boat but after 3 bad ones in a little over a year i got my money back and i want to stay away from that brand. I have two anchormates that im gonna put on,but what kind of anchors should i get for the pontoon? The bell shaped anchors i have didnt hold my bassboat very good so they are going in the barter/sell pile.Ive been looking at the digger type anchors.Would they work good for a pontoon? The next warm day im gonna try to get the railing taped off and painted and was wondering what type of paint i should use.Ive got the decals and stickers off and most of it sanded but im worried about the new paint flaking off.I got alot of little stuff i need to finish but for now my main concern is the batteries/charger and the livewell. When im all done all my extra parts will be sold or traded for some matching seats. Any thoughts/ideas/opinions? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for Looking Dave-aka-blue79 Stockton Lake
  2. Thats a good idea.Ive got black tubesocks i never wear.
  3. Im with Justin on this one.He was just putting some info out there and someone had to turn the topic negative. And yes i am ready for a home invasion(or a zombieapocalypse)either way i am prepared.
  4. SOLD....Thanks
  5. I stripped everything thing off that i wanted and the transom was rotten. When i took the pumps off i stuck my finger in between the inner and outer skins and the wood was soft and soggy.Boat is stripped except the motor, throttle and steering so i can still start it up with muffs.I had sold the trailer when the boat was at the marina but i just bought it back so it will be sold with the boat.It is actually a tilt jon boat trailer but it has worked fine for this boat.$800 for the motor, steering, and controls, and gas can,and the boat and trailer is free.If i dont sell the motor i might take the top shell of the boat off and redo the transom and have the boat painted a different color and it would be a new boat.Motor is very dependable.Have all 3 titles.417-808-0099
  6. I am selling my 60hp Tohatsu off of my bass boat. The transom is weak on the boat(not broke). The previous owners did some glass work on the inside but they only used one layer of glass and not enough resin and the glass is seperating from the transom.if you try to speed up you can see the transom flex,so i have just trolled all summer.I was gonna strip the motor and stand the boat in the air and reglass the inside the right way but i ended up buying a pontoon. The fibergass and resin was gonna cost me $100.This boat has been at the marina the last 2 summers and fires right up every time. This boat wasnt fast but it planed out quick.Im taking the bass seats and floor plates, trolling motor, fish finder, rod holders,batteries,bilge/livewell pumps, anchors.Im not taking the motor off.Whoever buys the motor gets a free boat. You will be getting 1989 Tohatsu 60hp,motor with tilt/trim,throttle,steering wheel/cables and linkage, the 2 seats that are inside the boat, and the gas can that has the Tohatsu fitting. The boat is a 1979 Tidecraft(blue79) 15ft with new carpet and fuse box this spring. The trailer is not mine and dont go with this boat. You can use it to pull the boat/motor home but will need $150 deposit just in case it dont get brought back or bring some tools and take the motor off here.Clear Titles for boat and motor $800-FIRM. 417-808-0099 I dont answer my phone while im working so leave a message. Can show saturday and sunday.Only have one video of the motor running before the camera died--- ( http://s1202.photobu...t=VIDEO0014.mp4 ). Ready to get this sold so i can put a new deck/carpet on my new pontoon and get back on the lake. All the high temps this summer and a weak transom means no fish in the freezer. Thanks. blue79

    Bass

Tried the red and white crazy shad and didnt have one bite.Tried the lure i was using yesterday and the LM bass couldnt leave it alone.Caught a bunch that was 12-14inches..Yesterday was all smallmouths and i didnt even catch one today. When i caught the fish in the pic,he shot straight out of the water and when i got him to the boat he dove straight down. When he surfaced there was two identical bass hooked to that lure.I tried to grab my net but it was hung up on my other pole and by the time i got it free one of the bass got off. They tore that lure up.Two of the hooks were bent and the little spinners never spun right after that.I messed with that lure for an hour and it never would work right.Never caught another fish after that.Ive caught two crappie on a jig trailing a jig before, but never had two bass hit one lure.Ended up with 2 that were 16inches and the one in the pic(4 1/2 lbs). The water was a darker green than yesterday.
  9. Thanks.i started looking through some of my old lures and found a 3inch red and white cordell crazy shad that looks like the one i was using today and im gonna try it in the morning.i need to try some of my old lures before i get rid of-em.
  10. zarraspook-its plastic and about 4 inches and pretty fat in the middle.no name anywhere on it.it was in a box i got at an auction.it dont look that old.
  11. Threw some jugs out yesterday and only caught one small channel. When it got light enough i started fishing for bass, walleye or anything that would bite.fished from 4am to 930-10 and didnt catch anything except that one channel on a jug.The last two days a guy had a basket of crappie he caught on minnows from the dock and he said the cats were biting the minnows to.So this morning i get some minnows and i fished all around my dock and only had one bite in a hour and a half.I got in my boat and started hitting the banks.I threw everything and didnt have any bites and then i put on a lure i never use and started catching the smallmouths. The lure i put on sounds just like a buzzbait when its coming across the water but i couldnt catch anything on a buzzbait.I was catching a smallmouth every 7-10 throws.they were all 12-14inches long.No keepers but it was fun.I agree with strawhat the water is looking kinda funny, its changed in the last couple of days. All the smalls were nice and clean except the one i took a pic of he had a lot of black on him.Does anyone know the name of the lure that is in his mouth. It has a spinner at the front and back and comes across the water like a buzzbait.I want to get some on ebay but i dont know the name. Thanks
  12. Im glad somebody caught something. The forum has been pretty quiet lately.
  13. Sounds like fun.Glad you got your pole back.Cant wait to get back home and catch some fish.I went out sunday morning and caught a couple little cats but no keepers.Maybe this next weekend.
  14. I buy alot of tackle and these make up for the last two purchases.Ive found alot of lures in the past but this was the most in one day.
  15. Yesterday sucked.Only thing i caught was a bluegill i snagged on accident.Didnt catch anything this morning and when i was headed back to the marina i didnt flip my bail and lost all my braided line and my best walleye lure.I drove around and looked for it but couldnt find it.So i went and put my boat at the marina and then drove over to the area where i lost my lure and was hoping it would wash up on shore.I walked for about 2 hours and never did find my best walleye lure but i did find 10 nice lures,a like new 5 gallon gas tank, and a boat cup holder.Fishing hasnt been good lately and i need to do some repairs to my transom so i think im gonna get rid of my slip at the marina for july and august.I think we will do some river fishing and bank fishing and try to find some farm ponds to fish and save the money were paying for our slip and put it towards a new deepfreezer(ours died yesterday).
  16. I put 15 jugs out at 4:30 and didnt have one bite on shrimp in 3-1/2 hours.Turtles werent even eatin it.I guess they dont like cooked shrimp.I think that the shrimp was fully cooked when i pulled them out of the water.
  17. Im thinking about going in the morning. If i do ill probably throw my jugs out at 3:30-4:00am and then fish the banks till about 9:00-9:30.Im gonna use shrimp and ill let ya know how their biting on my side of the lake.My back has been out for a week and i havent fished for three weeks and ive been dying to go.
  18. Nice boat!I was wondering if you was up and running yet.I seen your ad on cl for your fishfinders and was wanting to buy one from ya but i was working in KC last week and my back went out so i had to save my money.I managed to hobble down to the marina and plug my charger in today so i can try to fish in a couple of days.I dont think were missing much with this heat.
  19. Wanted to go fishing today but im glad i didnt.Had to much to do in the garden.
  20. That sucks. At least everyone made it back safe and you was able to salvage your motor and everything else.Best of luck and i hope you get back out on the water soon.
  21. Only caught 1.Alot of bass boats out early.Seen two launch at 4:30 and after 5 there was steady traffic out of the marina.Didnt try very hard to catch anything else.A couple of nice boats ventured back into the little coves and we hung back around our jugs and let them fish through.Oh well,1 fish= 1 bowl of nuggets.Better than nothing
  22. I do all of my fishing in the Orleans area 3-4 days a week if im not working.I lost my biggest bass ever back behind the sailboats last week. Was using a blue 6inch walleye lure.My lure had 3 treble hooks and it yanked one of the hooks right off when he/she shot out of the water.i was pissed the rest of the day. When you leave the marina follow the no wake buoys straight across to the other little point and ive allways caught smallmouth and largemouth all around that point. If all else fails if you head out of the marina to the main part of the lake follow the straight ridge that is on your right hand side.We put on white crank baits and troll that ridge back and forth in 20-25 fow and allways catch bass, walleye, and crappie. There is allways someone there.Last sat me and another boat was going one way and two other boats were going the other way.I was using a small white crankbait and was catching crappie/walleye and my girlfriends son was using a bigger/deeper diving white crankbait and all he was catching was bass so in that area i would use a deep diver.Last fall when the lake was low we were slaying the bass all around the coves at Orleans with white buzzbaits.Caught alot of nice big bass.Someone told me there was alot of big bass around marinas cause after tournaments all the bass were released at the weigh-ins.Head straight across the lake to the quarry(crabtree cove) just south east of the dam and there is some nice bass lurking around in there early in the morning plus its a good wind break if its windy out.Good luck
  23. Caught one channel in 4 hours out of 15 jugs.Cant wait till the moon goes into hiding!.Found one 19inch walleye in shallow water.
  24. Your welcome straw hat.I might try again in the morning if i can get myself out of bed that early.I like to have my jugs in the water for atleast an hour before daylight.
  25. 15-25ft deep.rocky banks with mud bottoms.
