  1. Point12 & fished this afternoon with 2 limits of walleyes up to 23" + catfish & a 19" LM. When you mark'em get something down there with'em. Main lake points are a good place to look.
  2. I have saved $20 on the tattle flag thing by making my own linkage (lashing wire) and just buying the spring and nylon washer from the hardware store. It doesn't look as slick as the offshore kit on close exam but works. The boards already come with the flag.
  3. Saturday most of the fish I caught were in 28-38 fow on the B/B & crawler and spoons, with the lizard & gitiz fish being much shallower near the brush. I fished Tuesday and found the walleyes to be shallower in 20-30 fow in main lake coves. My boat was very low on fuel Tuesday so I didn't get to spend a lot of time looking for a good school b4 I fished but I did pick up serveral keepers.
  4. I fished early Saturday morning till about 2:30PM when the jet skis, tubers and just plain old sightseers got to be too much. Pretty much had a walleye on each rod all the time once I found them. Didn't have anything over 20" but caught about 30 walleyes (4 keepers) & a couple of nice fat KY's. I caught walleyes on bluff ends (spoons) main lake points (lizards) and creek channel coves on slow death spinner rigs & crawlers. I caught smalleys on gitizs & lizards also. Decided that I would wait for the 3 day weekend crazies to depart b4 I fish again (tomorrow) which will be my official first day of retirement. OH YEAH - LIFE IS GOOD AT 60.
  5. If you can setup 2 offshore boards for $40 your doin' better than me. With flags & snappers so you can use braid they seem to cost me about $50 each.
  6. Don't forget to bring some Zoom lizards they are still catching bass & walleyes. 6" Green pumpkin is still working pretty good.
  7. Yes when trolling crankbaits and spinners but not too much with B/B.
  8. I talked to a friend who said he's been doing better now by texas riggin' a green pumkin lizard with 1/2oz sinker. Last time I fished was last Sunday for walleyes. I caught appox 30 walleyes on B/B & crawler with 4 keepers to 21". The most productive was a silver / blue slow death rig in 23 - 28 fow.
  9. I think what we are learning here is that pretty much anything that you have confidence in will catch fish on Bull Shoals this year. Be thankful that The good lord has provided us with a few years of boundiful harvest after having endured the drought that nearly devastated the white & black bass population.............Thank You, Lord, amen.
  10. Ditto on the 1/8 oz ball head but I like a 4" smoke & silver flake smimmin minnow best on Bull Shoals. With the same in clear & blue flake and blue thunder.
  11. Great wally Hotdawg, I'll bet those customers will be back for a full day next time.
  12. Gulley Spring Creek has as good of fishing as other areas of Bull Shoals lake. I have fished that area many times, you should be able to find a guide who can put you on any species of fish right there close to where you live. The main lake and the creek arms are all producing great fishing for bass & walleye right now. I have fished Bull Shoals for 30 years and this is probably the best over all year I've seen.
  13. The daytime walleye bite on Bull Shoals is really starting to pick up. We did a little crankbait trolling yesterday morning and caught 1 - 26"er then switched over to B/B & crawler to finish out our 2 limits with walleyes up to 25 inchs. The best bite seemed to be about 30 foot, but we caught keepers anywhere from 17' to 37'. The middle of the day on a blue bird sunny day.
  14. RTM, the B/B spinner & crawler is a daytime trolling technique. IF you want a good walleye guide call Hotdawgs guide service. I think you can contact him on this forum.
  15. R.T.M. 4 pound test is way too light for night fishing IMHO. I use mostly 10-12. The walleyes are very aggressive this year and trying to land or boat a larger walleye after dark on 4 pound line is more challenge than I want. I have better luck with a 5" suspending stickbait and it takes heavier line just to get a good hookset. As for the B/B spinner setup, I use 15/4 braid or 14# main line and 10# fluorocarbon leader with a 1 1/2- 2 OZ sinker @ .8-1.2 mph. I have been catching lots of walleyes in 15-30 fow on crawlers. So far this year floaters / smile blades have been catching more fish for me than metal blades & beads but that may change after the thermocline sets up in a month or so. I have been having good results with clear water natural colors (ie: silver, gold and blue) seem to be working best for me right now with chartreuse working on real cloudy days or late evening. Main problem with the B/B fish is I have to catch quite a few to get keepers on most days. Bull Shoals is full of 17.5" walleyes while the majority of the night time stickbait fish are keepers. The B/B bite will only get better as the water warms up while the night time stickbait bite is a spring & fall bite.
  16. I got out for walleyes from about 4:30PM till the weather chased me off the lake about 9PM 5/1/10. Caught about 10-12 walleyes on B/B & crawler b4 dark with 1-19" and 1-19" after dark on a stickbait. The B/B fish all seemed to be in the back of south facing coves in 15-22 FOW. The stickbait fish was on a south facing point on about 8 FOW.
  17. I fished last week and caught 3 21"-25" walleyes and a couple of keeper bass on suspending stickbaits at night. Most of the hits I had were while fishing pretty much paralel to the bank with the boat in 10-20 fow. I like a 5" bait which runs about 4-5 foot deep. Try to pick a south facing point or bank with deep water near by. When the moon is high in the sky the fish are often suspended out away from the bank as well as being in the shallow water near the bank, be sure to work your bait all the way back to the boat as often the walleye will hit right at the boat.
  18. 10-4 on lower Bull shoals being red hot right now!!! Everybody is catchin'em on just about anything you want to throw, drag, troll or just let sit on the bottom. The smallmouth bass are every where and are biting gitiz. The LM bass are attacking lizards. The crappie are biting jigs & minnows. The white bass are biting during the middle of most sunny days with any kind of wind. And the walleyes are biting on all of the bass baits plus stickbaits at night. If you can't get a bite on Bull Shoals right now you better check your line cause it didn't hit the water.
  19. The white bass bite is very good right now on the lower end of Bull Shoals. We caught 20+ yesterday on 4" swimmin' minnows in about a hour and a half. We were using smoke / silver flake and clear / blue flake on 1/8 jig heads. Just swim it near the bush in pockets where the wind is blowing and the sun is shinning. We left them still biting and went bass fishing. The lizard & gitiz bite is real good right now also with green pumkin 6" lizards working well in deeper water and puke colored gitiz up near the brush. Lots of keeper walleyes are being caught at night on supending stickbaits, but the daytime bite is still slow the water temp yesterday was 65.
  20. We fished today in Big Creek. Caught 1 short LM on clown stickbait. Caught 30 fish LM- white bass and 1 walleye on spoons - grubs -crankbaits. Beauiful day to be on the water. Water temp was 48 the depth was 28fow.
  21. I have a nearly new 70LB Minn-Kota foot control trolling motor for sale. Less than 1 year old and used very little. I bought this motor for a spare TM to take on road trips and other than putting it on the boat (quick mount) to test it a couple of times it has just been stored in my garge. BPS sells this model for $589.99 Im askinhg $450............................Mike 870-321-3705
  22. I seem to get hung up a lot less when I rig tube baits on a external jig head (rig it just like a plastic grub) it seems to drag accross the bottom without wedging beteewn the rocks as much and you can also rig it on a weedless grub head. If you use a drop of super glue on the collar of the jig head the tube won't slide off.
  23. I do remember some lake trout being caught near the Bull Shoals dam 1n the 1980's & 90's most where caught spooning deep water. The best I recall those fish were 12-20 pounders. I do remember catching some lake trout in the White river below Bull Shoals dam after the flood gates were open in the mid- 80's those were smaller fish that were assumed to have came thru or over the dam during high water. The information I remember about the lake trout stocking in Bull Shoals lake was it was a small project that was discontenued do to lack of interest from the public and low creel counts.
  24. I am hearing reports of real good size walleyes & bass being caught real shallow on stickbaits as well as deeper fish coming on leadcore(30-50fow) Last time I was out(12/20) the spoon bite (40-60') had really slowed down. A couple of days later a friend of mine caught a 8lb & 5lb walleye + some real nice size bass up next to the bank on stickbaits.
  25. My grandson had one of the Cricket 22 rifles. It had good points like the key locking device. The main problem as far as I could see was it was very inaccurate and and so small that he out grew it very quickly.
