  1. Gotta think as it as a positive thing.Every short i catch i just think about how much better it will be in a year. That being said only about half of all i have cleaned were males, so things may just be runnning a little late this year
  2. The last few times i have been i have got 10 or so keepers every trip but lots and lots of shorts. Maybe this is just one of those years.. next year and the one after should be great. Then again maybe they are just gonna run later than usual (hoping)
  3. Im with ya on trying to tune a wart, i keep my packages and receipts and if they run goofy i just take them back and get a new one
  4. I have caught an unusual amount of short ones around Bridgeport this year. Not a bad thing though, means it will be better next year
  5. Seems like FLW rarely gets brought up on this web site. If it was the Elites everyone would be talking
  6. I was kinda doubting it too, just seems like a weird place to bring 3 little white bass carcasses you cleaned to throw in. I would have threw them in my neighbors trash can before making a trip to the river to dump them
  7. Anybody ever caught any up that way. I was walking around down there the other day and noticed a few whites that had been cleaned right there on the ramp. Kinda thought it was an odd place for white bass to be
  8. Anybody ever caught any up that way. I was walking around down there the other day and noticed a few whites that had been cleaned right there on the ramp. Kinda thought it was an odd place for white bass to be
  9. I got a Fenwick spinning set up for the Ned and i am very impressed with it. Looks and feels great. I plan on buying more Fenwicks in the future
  10. I could troll 7 hours straight pulling cranks with mine before my cheap super start batteries would die. I have never ran out of juice when trolling and stopping to fish and then trolling a little more. I will say the battery light on that motor isnt a good indicator. when they start to die it will turn yellow and you have less than 10 minutes before it turns red and are completely dead
  11. I shot a big one a couple years back with a spear. Is it some form of carp or a drum. I was thinking it is a buffalo carp.
  12. 59 degree water at Blunks on Wed. I ran up there for a little bit. We could see them swimming, and we saw some people loading there boat with them. We caught a couple and headed back to the lake to find crappie
  13. We were out Wednesday battling the wind, caught around 30 with 10 keepers. All were caught after the storms passed around noon. Wind made it very difficult to get my 1/32nd jig where i wanted it. All these were caught up Flat Creek tight in brush, most in deeper structure. Water temp from Bridgeport to back up in the Creek was 60-61.
  14. Spots get way bigger than that but, yes its a Largemouth
  15. My brother told me you sold your old boat Jason. What did you get?
  16. Im not working tonight Jason. Im gonna let the lake stabilize through the weekend before i get back out. I have been catching some crappie around Bridgeport and flat creek though. they are around
  17. Very True although St Louis is farther from TR as Lansing KS. I often wonder about the wealth of knowledge provided by so many people that rarely fish TR and havent posted a TR report in the last year or two, but always seem, to provide detailed advice on it.
  18. That red paint probably hurt the slime coat and that fish is probably belly up. LOL Nice catch
  19. Go to the set up and make sure it is on shallow water mode. From there just play wiith the sensitivity setting. put a bass jig back there till you can see it. then adjust the sensitivity. Your gonna have a lot of clutter in the first 10 feet but just ignore that. If they are that shallow you dont need electromics
  20. I went by the bass pro service department on campbell in springfield. The sell Opti oil for $25 a gallon plus 1.25 if you need a jug. Its about the best price i have found. Academy and bass pro's DFI oil is arounf $40. Sport boat USA in ozark is $38 after tax for opti oil.
  21. I know Jerry. I debating on going to Aunts creek to practice but i figure by Saturday conditions are going to be completely different so i didnt think it would do me any good.. And Im addicted to those darn crappie in the spring.
  22. Had a few hours to kill so i decided to chase some crappie before the wind comes this week. Obviously with a night in the twenties last night it was pretty tough today. Ended up catching 15, only 7 Keepers. Most keepers were up in flat creek water temp 50-51. All caught on bobby garland baby shad in crystal color. Caught a few around Bridgeport on minnows. They wouldnt eat a minnow in Flat creek for some reason. I usually wouldnt use minnows but i figured with the cold snap they were going to be stubborn today, Water temp around Bridgeport got up to 55
