  1. From what I understand it is legal. I would assume common sense applies to materials (nothing that would pollute) and locations (nothing that would be a boating hazard). I am sure someone on this forum has more specifics though.
  2. Thank you for the great feedback. I have a better understanding now. I went out today and noticed more fish suspending in the 20-30 range than in previous weeks when they would be on the bottom. Makes sense!
  3. Just a quick report. Went out of Mutton today. Fished 6-11am. Trolled all sorts of cranks at all sorts of depths. Found the most fish on the depth finder in the old river channel at 40-50 fow suspended at 20'. I managed to pick up a few crappie and a few nice whites. Overall it was slow. Some days they like what your cooking and some days they dont!
  4. Thanks for the feedback
  5. Does anyone know if the thermocline has established itself in Stockton and what depth it might be? Headed up tomorrow to pull cranks for the morning and curious what Ill cath. Thanks
  6. I'm still learning the basics of lake fishing ....grew up river fishing. Can someone please explain to me what the thermocline means for fishing? My basic understanding is it is where the water with oxygen meets the water without and subsequently, where the fish are. Generally speaking what depth is this on tr? Would the be a good time to pull cranks through that zone? Lookin forward to what you all have to say about the subject!
  7. Thanks! We'll give it a go!
  8. Well, I guess no one trolls cranks for crappie in cricket or brushy. I suppose I will be the first to give it a try. I will keep everyone posted to what happens....stay tuned!
  9. I've had my best luck in the cape fair/bridgeport area. Color of jigs varies, but yes, 6 lb is fine, especially in the more colored water there is up that way from the rain. I would start by hitting brush piles and jigging in and around them. Might also try trolling some crank baits. Follow creek channel contours and work around until you find them. I've been fishing around the dam for crappie lately due to off water reasons, and it is tough...stay away. You're lucky to catch 3 or 4 in half a day's work. Good luck and curious what other folks say.
  10. Thanks ham. Coming in from Branson, what might be a good starting point? I've had my best luck on bandit 300's and flicker shad number 5's at 1.5 mph on Stockton and pomme. Thanks for the help gettin started with your direction! Much abliged!
  11. Sorry, auto correct.....K dock?
  12. Would I dock be a good starting point?
  13. How's the trolling for crappie with cranks in the summer on the upper end of bull shoals? I have done well on Stockton and pomme but am looking for some time on bull shoals. Thanks for feedback.
  14. Also, generally speaking, what depth brush were you doing best? Thanks
  15. How deep we're you when trolling when you picked up the eyes?
  16. I've done we'll trolling crainkbaits (bandits and flicker shad) at Stockton and cape fair for crappie, but have quickly learned the dam area is tough! I've picked up a few in clevenger in 40 fow around 10-15ft deep around 1.5 mph. Has anyone had any luck with the method in brushy or cricket? Or for that matter the k-dock area of bull shoals? I've had my best luck on number 5 flickers and 300 series bandits
  17. I am wanting to try for a new species of fish. I have heard below the truman dam is a good place to catch hybrids. If anyone would share any general when, where, and how to catch these fish, it would be appreciated.
  18. I'll post this on both the truman and LOZ sights. Wanting to try my hand at a new species......Hybrids. Any advice on general when, where, and how to catch these fish would be apprecitated. Thanks.
  19. Was thinking about trolling the dam with some flicker shad. Seems like it would be a good place? Does anyone have any idea if this would pick up any fish? If so what kinds? or am I wasting time?? Thanks
  20. Thanks for the help. I imagine a lot of folks will be out and about. We'll give it a go. Maybe we'll just put in at beaver instead then. Sounds like a great place to start.
  21. Taking my uncle from out of state for first time to SW mo. Looking to put in at River run Park at 76 bridge. Wanting to get on some white's. I typically fish stockton and pomme but thought we would try a new lake. Any direction to get started to find some fish would be appreciated. We fished flatt creek today. Picked up several crappie on pearl sliders with pink heads trolling in 10 fow. Thanks in advance.
  22. I may be a bit off species, but you might consider leaving the boat on the trailer and running over to cape fair/galena area. People have been catching a lot of white bass in that area. Might be a good way to get some young-uns hooked!
  23. Wanted to learn some new water. Heard you can find some whites and crappie in Turnback creek. Not looking for your honeyhole but any details on fishing this creek would be appreciated.
  24. Bill, Did you see or hear of any crappie coming out of long creek yet?
  25. I can tell you in brushy creek its 43 degrees and clear. Bill, Thanks for the insight. I will do some homework with the CC marina folks. Maybe they'll get turned on with this warm weather coming up this week.
