This may be a silly question. But if they are able to hit a lure wouldn't the be able to hit a perch, minnow or crayfish? Why would you fillet them if they are obviously healthy enought to hit a lure? With that said if they catch someone doing it they should be punnished. By the way I am a walleye fisherman. I love catching a big ole bass once in a while.
Fishing by myself: Had 13 Keeper walleye and 3 shorts Keepers were 15 to 18". Main lake points, bottom bouncers with perch colored harnesses 16 to 20' of water. Man I hate throwing those good eaters back. Fished from 2 to 6:30pm yesterday.
Been trying to go for 2 weeks. But every time we have time to go wind is howling and the wife doesnt like that to much. Do you think the walleye should be hitting Jig and crawlers. I wonder if a guy would do well bottom bouncing yet? Good job on your day yesterday Frying.
Gonna have to try the salami and onion samich. Smoked oysters was my dad and my wifes thing. Still can't stand them though. My father also died of a stroke while being operated on. I will have a salami and onion samich and a can of beenie wienies in honor of your father next trip.
I am sad for the loss. But I am very lucky to have had the 45 years I had with him, a lot of people don't get that for one reason or the other. I am very lucky.
My father passed away sunday night unexpectedly. My father had just moved to Stockton to retire. For the last 2 years we have been walleye fishing Stockton lake. I have also been on here the last two years asking question and looking for advice on how to walleye fish the lake. We have been very successful for only doing this for such a short period of time and a lot of the success we have had is because of the advice and fishing reports on here. My dad was 68 years old and I wanted to thank all of you for helping me make the last 2 years very special to him and my family. You probably didn't know it at the time you posted something. If you see a 2013 tracker targa with a 150 four stroke on it, out on the lake this summer stop and say hi.

Thanks for the report. Glad to here that your out after'em. As far as the walleye's go what is the normal fall pattern? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
I think you are probably on the right track with what you are planning. We have done really well this summer with those same tactics but we fished last tue and wed and tue. the wife and I had 14 fish only 4 keepers and wed morning only 5 shorts. So I think that I am probably off the fish a little bit. We have caught a lot of keepers this year but we have caught 5 times as many shorts this year as last, hopefully that means good fishing next year. Good luck and let us know how you do.
Fished a couple hours on tue. eve we had 2 keepers jig and crawler 20' deep. Today fished about 6 hours had 3 keepers and 7 shorts on harnesses 16' deep. Lost our best fish at the boat maybe a 17 or 18" er. All in all a good trip caught a few and got to spend some time in the boat with my sweety.
Anyone catching any walleye, wife and I are coming down Tuesday eve. Last year we tore them up this same week, I know it has been a different year. Just wondering if anyone is doing any good, last year it was jig and crawlers 18 to 25'.
It was tough for us to we had 4 keeper between the 3 of us. I had four walleye and lost one at the boat but only one keeper fishing main lake points from 10 to 25'. But it was a nice day, except for the sunburn.
Seemed like the longer sloping points were the best a flat out by an island north east of the ramp was being fished but looked like it was not producing alot.
Had a very nice trip to Diamond City. Caught some nice walleye between 4 of us the largest was 26" had 14 keepers for 2 1/2 Days of fishing. Jig and crawler and bottom bouncing I thought we did alright for our first trip down there. Beautiful lake, will definately go back. Thank you to everyone for there insight and suggestions.
Wife and I are coming to Diamond City sunday going to fish around there for walleye, is anyone catching any now? Any info would be appreciated 1st time down there. Will give a report when we get back.
