  3. Hope both of you guys get better soon! I have learned a lot from both of your post in the past. Straw Hat you are absolutely correct, we have had things happen in our family this past winter that really drives that point home. I have learned to enjoy loved ones and friends when you are around them and don't sweat the small stuff. Got to fish with my beautiful wife sun. mon. and tues. and My dad and his awesome wife joined us mon. and tues. Was one of the best times in a long time. Oh and yea we caught a good mess of fish. Boy it sure hurts when you have to throw walleye back as hard as they are to come by sometimes.
  4. Crawler harnesses 20 to 25' of water, windy points witch wasn't hard to find yesterday. We are still swaying side to side. Up the little sac.
  5. Thanks for the info wife and I had great 3 days. Wife had 21 keepers in 3 days and I had 17. Great weather and great time together.
  6. what arm of lake? Points? Wifey and I are going to fish sunday monday and tuesday targetting walleye.
  7. My boat doesn't have paint on the bottom, if it did it wouldn't for long fishing Truman as much as I do. Just got back from below the dam at Warsaw, had 26 crappie 20 were keepers and 2 times that many white bass. My uncle kept his limit. I didn't keep any waiting for some toothy fish. Sure was good to get the new boat smell of the new boat. I believe the wife and I are coming to Stockton to fish Monday or Tuesday. Thinking of going up the lake never been south of the flats on the big sac at 5 to 7 mm.
  8. Picked up my new tracker targa 18 yesterday couldn't wait to get it out so on my way home I stopped a Stockton. I upgraded to the 36 volt I pilot. and put a 1198 HB SI on console and 858 on the bow. Gonna take some time to get used to all the gadgets for this old country boy. My question about jerk baits what kind are they using to catch walleye this time of year? And what colors? Thanks Ed
  9. I have the Hummingbird 596c DI and I love it I mostly jig fish for walleye and crappie I use split screen most of the time with 2D and DI. I believe cabelas has them on sale for $399.00 I just looked at them in the Cabelas fishing catalog.

    Walleye

Haven't been down in a month or so. My first year fishing stockton so my first winter fishing there also. What should I be keying on this time of year and what method?
  14. I have a Z6 I bought last january and I love it. Been on some rough water on stockton and it handled it well. With that being said I am going to upgrade to a Z8 or Z9. But if it is just 1 or 2 people fishing the Z6 would work fine especially if you have found a good deal. Just my 2 cents.
  15. were you casting cranks the whole time or did you try any different techniques? Wife and I are coming down tuesday afternoon and fish wednesday also, probably dragging jigs for walleye.
  16. Sorry typo 25' to 30' of water, Jig and crawler
  17. Wife and I went tue afternoon from 6 to 8:30 had 29 keepers and 5 shorts kept our 8 eaters and released the rest nothing big most from 16 to 18. Wed from 6:30 to 10:30 had 14 keepers and 4 shorts kept our 8 and went home had walleye tonight for supper. Really good trip wish there was a big one or two in there but I am not compaining. All in 35' to 40' of water on points.
  18. I think we are heading down tuesday afternoon and stay the night and fish wednesday. Its been since 7-7-12 that we have been there. If you see a White and Black Z6 with a Dumb looking guy in the front and a GOODLOOKING gal in the back stop and say hi, putting in at Orleans Trail.
  19. My wife and I are new to walleye fishing and new to stockton have been 10 times this year and have done pretty well in my opinion, Mainly using jig and crawler. What I was wanting to know was how does Stockton compare to Bull Shoals? Size of fish and numbers of fish. Our biggest has been 22 1/2 inches with most being 16 to 18. If a couple were to go to Bull Shoals what part of the lake would you suggest?
  20. nice job! My dad and I and a friend went to truman tue. and had 45, and some 13 and 14 inchers. When we are at stockton we just fish for walleye trying to figure that bite out right now. Haven't fished up the lake in the standing timber yet. Keep up the good work I really enjoy reading you post, you pretty much are always on the crappie.
  21. Are you talking about this on a bottom bouncer?
  22. My wife and I have started fishin stockton this year for walleye and your post have been very helpful. We fished today in the terrible wind but we managed 7 keepers and have done pretty well for just learning the lake. But we were wondering what was the best meathod for fishing them in the fall. (September, October) We have been jig and crawler fishing in 15 to 25 foot of water. Thanks for any info.
  23. congrats to you and your son, sounds like you will have a hunting and fishing partner for years to come.
  24. great mess of fish, Dandy walleye congrats to the wife.
