  1. all in the main lake and mostly off sand or gravel flats.this is my first year fishing bull shoals, and I have not really fished or scouted the creek arms yet.what is the normal time of fall- winter or water temp? when they start to run up in these areas. thanks
  2. pretty good day even with a east wind! had 9 walleye,3 legals 18 to 23 in. a few lm, 18 was the biggest, 2 nice whites ,,a nice crappie, and 2 big bluegils & 1 cat! trolling cranks & bb crawlers .the 28 to 32 ft range was best. this will be my first fall down here in mo.-ar. on bull shoals. anyone have any info on if the duck hunting is good or not on bull shoals. I sure have not seen much so far for ducks,(local ducks anyway ) a few geese earlier. but does it get a good migration flight through it later on? thanks for any info!
  3. this was just WRONG!!!, it is a discrace to the nfl, im from WI, and a lifelong packer fan. this was the worst game of terrible calls I have ever seen. I was not aware that some of these guys are high school refs ! and the head ref for this game it was his first nfl game! I cant believe the nfl could not find a whole new set of good expieranced refs out there somewhere in this massive world. then the nfl responds by defending the terrible call and review, instead of just admitting it was a bad call and a mistake ! it is sad that the great sport of football has come to this. hope it gets worked out very soon!!! ( I just had to vent guys!) now lets go fishing or hunting!!!
  4. Hi John, the wife and I are also 50 yr old rookie kayakers also. were from WI. and now live in hollister.(since this spring). I have not fished out of mine yet but am going to and think it should be alot of fun like you say.we live by the tablerock dam,so I think the taneycomo will be a nice float, and be able to catch some trout! I have not really searched the area for float trip spots yet,but please feel free to message me if you know of some nice float trips! and I will do the same if you are interested. good luck fishing!
  5. sounds like your season is off to a great start! good for you F&F !

SATURDAY,ALOT SLOWER,ONLY 1 SHORT EYE & 2 BASS. MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE BEEN PULLING CRAWLERS ? SOUNDS LIKE ON THE TABLEROCK POST FOR SAT IT WAS JUST TOUGH! ANYBODY DO ANY GOOD ON SAT. ON BULL SHOALS?
  7. good for you Justin!, I think you will like it more and more as you use it. and it will last a long, long, time. good luck with your season!

I live in hollister by the dam .in wisconsin buffalo wild wings carries all the games, but the closest B-W-Ws around here is in springfield. looking for something closer. hopefully a nicer sports bar or something . we just moved here this spring so im not to familiar with the area yet. thanks.

  11. WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS SOME ADVICE ON WHERE WOULD BE THE CLOSEST BOAT RAMP FOR ME COMING FROM HOLLISTER THAT WOULD PUT ME IN A GOOD AREA FOR EARLY SEASON GEESE. i HAVE NEVER BEEN DOWN IN THAT AREA SO IT IS ALL NEW TO ME.IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE 1& 1/2 HR DRIVE OR SO, AND MY DUCK BOAT IS A GO-DEVIL WITH A 23 HP LONG SHAFT THAT DOESNT TOP OUT VERY FAST, SO i WOULD LIKE TO FIND A AREA TO HUNT CLOSE TO A RAMP.HOPEFULLY! i HAVE BEEN IN WISCONSIN THE LAST 3 WEEKS AND WONT BE HOME UNTIL LATE TONIGHT (WED. 29TH) SO i HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO GET OUT AND SCOUT! ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT! THANKS !
  12. Hi guys,I live in hollister and am looking for a good place to have stuff made.someone that can make a variety of items. venison sausage & burger , goose brats & sausage. and hopefully bbq pheasant sticks!( my favorite!! ) and hopefully someone who smokes fish! and or any of your suggestions.hopefully within a hour of branson area. thanks
  13. I totally agree Bill.I think as sportsmen, we owe it to each other, and the future generation,to do our part in reporting this kind of activity.the people doing this are not sportsmen, and are not respecting the rest of us!I am not to familiar with the size of this problem in MO. as I have just moved here, but back in WI the fines are expensive and licenses revolked for 1 to 3 years. I know in south dakota they have a tipster hotline # and it is terrible how much violating is going on ! at least alot of them are getting caught! also, I dont agree with what happened on this post about the fish just being released.how is that going to teach these guys a lesson? I hope this is not a big problem here in MO. and thanks Phil for the operation game theft #. it is in my cell phone now !!!
  14. hey Justin, just to let you know my opinion . im not familiar with the vincy or any other newer models of new guns as I have been shooting the super black eagle for the last 20 years! I absolutely love it! it cycles any and all loads and sizes.I have shot alot of 3 and a half inchers through it and dont even notice it.I love the extension tube you can add on.it has come in handy quite a few times.especially the spring snow goose season! it is light enough to carry all day in the field pheasant hunting or anything else.it has jammed on me, but I think I can count on 1 hand the times over 20 years! I saw a couple of yor posts on the migratory bird link, maybe I will run into you someday. good luck on your season and whatever choice of gun you get!
  15. hey Mic, all good info on here! and my 2 cents on them from fishing them on the mississippi in WI is,definately on bottom. they dont seem to suspend like walleye sometimes .they usually spawn earlier than walleye, and are usually at the depth and deeper than walleye normall .they like holes and rocky cover.I have found bright colored baits are best. crank baits and stick baits in firetiger, chartrues or orange are best, and jigs with same colors and or twister tails. good luck and hope to see a post about it!
  16. T hanks Zaraspook for the link! im watching it now. my brother-in-law wants one to ,so we are still looking out everywhere.
  17. Thanks f&f and dd for the info! hey dd where abouts in alaska are you, you up there fishing and duck hunting? and yes I hope to get out as much as possible and post reports. this site is awesome, and everyone sounds like they are great guys!
  18. Hey F&F,thanks for the info! I found the goldeneyes on the rogers site, thank you. I see they are up by K.C. I read a bunch of the old threads today. alot of posts and comments. that is really great,It is really getting me excited for the season, which I saw on the mdc site they dont determine til mid august if I read it right. and is there a early goose season? there usually is in WI,mn,sd&nd that I know of but havent seen in missouri? how are the #s usually for the early teal season? hope im not bugging you to much,I really enjoy the chatting!
  19. I should add that I have looked alot on the internet with no luck. currently they are not printing them,so I am hopeing someone has a extra or knows a store that has some left or any other possibilities. thank you.
  20. I am looking to buy 1 or 2 of the " precision trolling books " the trollers bible .if anyone has one or a extra one they want to sell, or nows where I can get 1 please let me know.you can private message me on here or give me a call. my cell # is 715-577-5999. any advice would be great!
  21. hey F&F,thanks again! on your creek hunting, are you talking the larger creeks that flow into beaver and TR and motor into where they start to narrow down, or small creeks out in the country or surounding areas that you hunt on foot? I assume you mean the lake ones by saying to glass them first for deer, but not sure. back in WI our creeks and small rivers would be good when the pot holes freeze over, but I assume the lakes here dont freeze over, or do they?thus why would the birds move off the big water? I bet you got to love cabelas opening up right by you soon! I am up in minnesota now visiting family and was at cabelas in rogers,mn. today and they were out of goldeneyes. so I think i will have to come to rogers,ak when i get back! also do you believe in magnum decoys and or regular size to be able to put out more numbers of dekes.( do they even make magnum goldeneyes?)I did pick up a good supply of jigging spoons today so I am anxious to get back and chase some walleyes.
  22. thanks again F&F!, the longlines sound great.interesting about the goldeneyes as I have not used them before.havent bought decoys for quite a while, so it sounds like a good excuse to get some. courious on the open water hunting, is it mostly pass shooting or do they decoy pretty good? also is early season good hunting? I dont seem to see many birds trading around the lakes so far this year,at least on TR or BS when im fishing. are there good numbers of local ducks or do you wait til later for the migrators.
  23. thank you F&F!,that is great info and very encourageing.I will check out the old posts! I like all your posts on beaver about walleye fishing,as I love to fish walleye.been mainly fishing BS & the rock some, but sounds like beaver is pretty good also! got alot to learn down here, buts thats half the fun! I appreciate your help.
