  2. Maybe check out a duckett micro magic around 7' mh
  3. I live in Nixa. And have look everywhere for devcon 2 ton epoxy. Anyone know who has the 30min in stock? Lowes had 5 min. I've checked walmarts, Nixa hardware, lowes, orschelins, Home Depot, oreilys. I'd like find it local but I guess eBay may have do. I haven't yet got to start tinkering with painting yet we bought a new house and it's been a bit chaotic. Hopefully it'll settle down and I'll be able get some pics of my first baits and as I go.
  4. This may be a silly question but I've always just fished cranks with the hooks and split rings they came with. How do you guys decide what size of hooks/ split rings to use when buying blanks that come bare?
  5. Do you guys buy name brand and repaint if so how do you guys get original paint or finish off the lure for the new custom paint or do most buy blanks. I ordered some blanks but afraid to see how they'll run once finished. Lol
  6. These are the colors I picked up to start out with. Hopefully it'll cover the basics for a bit.
  7. I got some createx paints I picked up a pack of opaque and a pack of wicked and then a few pearl greens and yellows and oranges. How much do you guys tend to start out with in your cups? I'd hate to fill it up and then waste a lot on color change and stuff. And also how much reducer should I typically add a drop or two? Sorry if it's silly questions. Just trying avoid any mishaps
  8. Haha idk about that I have basically 0 artistic ability. I can draw a stick and that's about it
  9. Great looking baits billethead! I would love to be able do that.
  10. http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/opaque-airbrush-color-set-872275/ http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/primary-wicked-colors-airbrush-paint-set-207274/ Im looking at picking up these to two set of paint. And then a few others any colors in the createx you guys have tried and found it not to be a good color or found and loved the way it paints? I'm sure it'll be some trial and error. Just trying avoid a color that may end up just sitting on the shelf and never being used. lol
  11. I bought an iwata last night. I've seen a few people using the helping hands for doing jewelery and stuff to hold the bait during paint. Anyone have experience with that good or bad? Or maybe something they prefer better. I plan on trying to pick up paint, compressor and some dev con 2ton with paint brushes to apply, also a respirator. Anything else I should look into or think about grabbing? Post has been awesome so far. Thank you again guys!
  12. Wow! Thank you guys a ton for the advice. I'm trying to absorb as much as possible. Lol if anything else come to mind would love to hear it. And would love to see pics of you guys have any. I enjoy seeing people ideas and creativity side. The good the bad and the ugly! Hopefully I'll have a setup this weekend. I'll be sure to post pics of my first(failure) batch. Haha
  13. Not sure where to post this. But I am looking to get into doing airbrushing on blank lures. I'm totally new to it and trying to figure out maybe a good starter set with compressor and all. Or any tips and advice would be great. I've always enjoyed seeing custom ones and thought it would be a great hobby to try and learn. So far I can tell gravity feed double action is the way to go(iwata) I believe. Does anyone know of any good places in Springfield that sells decent airbrushes or airbrush sets
  14. Any body know Springfield lake temp right now?

  17. I was just throwing around a still finesse jig. And a chatterbait around the weeds and stuff. Right before we paddled past you guys there's was another kid out that borrowed a scale from me and he had caught a nice one on a squarebill. It smelled like a sweet cigar from where I was haha. I even mentioned it to my buddy I thought it smelled good. Hopefully it warm back up a little bit and they will get more active!
  18. Yea water definately seemed colder than the last couple weeks. Didn't have a temp gauge but just going off feel. And if you ever see me out there again swing by and say hi. It's always fun meeting people off the forum! Were you in the boat with a light hanging on the side right at dark? Sweet smelling cigar of some kind ? Haha
  19. Well got out last night from about 6- dark only had a few bites but they were all pretty good fish! Ended up being a good night!
  20. Any word on how lake is with the rain we've had ?
  21. Delaware town doesn't have a lot of acces for bank fishing and there's usually quite a few people swinging on rope swing and swimming around. If you can go just little ways up or down either way it gets fairly good fishing.
  22. Not this week but last week was good. Haven't tried this week
  23. Plastic worms, frog, spinnerbaits, senko, fluke , you name it
