    Has anyone been catching any good sized bluegills in the Campbell point, big creek area? Heading down this weekend with the kids and would love to find some good size gills for them to catch.

    Majority of the main lake is only about 3 ' deep except in the river channel is 10-15'.

    Yeah that was us but just cigs no cigar. The new fish finder I mounted this year has temp reading, two weeks ago in the main lake it was showing 84 degrees, last night was 64 degrees. Not a big surprise with such shallow water how quickly and drasticly it changes

    We gotto the main lake right about sun down, pretty sure we passed each other kee. Water temp was down about 20 degrees from where it was 2 weeks ago. Fishing for crappie caught a nice bluegill right off the bat, thought we were in for a good night, and boy was I wrong, that bluegill was the last bite either of us had.

    Good question. I have been wondering that myself. My son and are are going out tonight and see if we can catch a few fish. Hoping all this rain has cooled the lake down just a bit from wher it was a few weeks ago.

    We we 6-1 also and didnt catch anything except my son and I caught one small bluegill each. Wife and daughter didnt catch anything

    I forgot to mention that water temp in the river was around 77 and the main lake around 84 but the female crappie still had eggs wich I found a little odd because of the water temp.

    Went out to springfield lake today. Tons of canoes and kayaks. Caught one cat fish, a couple of crappie, small bass and a few small blue gills. Over all fishing was slow but at least it was a nice day on the water

    There are a bunch in springfield lake, but bow fishing is not permitted there. Below the darn is a place that i have considered.

    I have recently become interested in bow fishing. And would like to try it close to home from the bank before i go to the expense of rigging my boat with lights etc. Can anyone tell me how the carp population is in the james river in the south springfield area? And all of the accesible area would be great to know also. Lol

    Does anyone in the dora twin bridges area know of any ferral hog acctivity in the area? I deer hunt in the national forrest across the river from devils backbone.

    Bass pro was holding their anual outddor days event this weekend at the lake, and were giving free boat rides to everyone with those pontoons.

    Went out last night, and yes the ramp is open, only problezm i had was that someone has thrown a bunch of rocks on the ramp.
